Its not his fault na... I blame TRCN.. If they made it mandatory that before you teach anywhere (private or public), you must have NCE/B.ed and TRCN certificate, then when they see many of their Bsc siblings or colleagues sitting at home for like 2/3byears doing nothing and can't be employed to teach, then they'd not be saying rubbish...

Yes, I have a friend that teaches English.

She worked on the island for two years, bought a car within that time and opened a standard bet9ja shop in Ikorodu for her husband where she stays and then resigned.

She was previously teaching tutorial in Ikorodu until someone linked her to one big school on the island.

Lagos state currently lacks Science teachers and if you have any friend or loved ones that studied Any science related courses in Education, their chances of being employed is really high.

Thank you for that. While I also observe that those graduates of education courses are not necessarily the best teachers, teaching isn't just about the knowledge of the subject or the ability to impart the knowledge into others. Teaching is a philosophy that deals with the whole state of the student as well as the environment. They learn this in education courses but not in engineering courses.

There’s a lot to teaching besides the classroom thing. You’d need to have studied an education degree or hold a pdg in education to realize this.

It is a full faculty in every institution where its taught for a reason. The lack of respect for teachers/teaching is why you lots disregard it.

Even in the West that y’all like to emulate, you cant teach without a degree or pdg in education. Even ordinary kindergarten and nursery you need a strong degree in early childhood education.

I'm not referring to it in the sense of failure (dullards), after all, it is only those that are good enough for other courses but can't get admission due to lack of space that are offered such.
On the issue of statistical data, you and I don't have to pretend about this, except you probably schooled outside Nigeria.
A typical example of one of such that applies to someone close to me(my sis), applied for international relations and law in Unilorin(DE) and LASU(UTME) respectively, she got none of it, but both offered her an admission in education (Primary Edu and English Edu), she resumed the 2(they came in at about 3weeks interval) and eventually settled for Ilorin, she is currently a graduate of Unilorin and preparing for the TRC exam.
Same story applies to numerous students in Edu discipline that I personally know.

Do those living outside Lagos can't apply because of the residency registration number required? Too bad.

The Lagos state government should have opened this opportunity to all categories of granduate whether B.tech, Bsc, LL.B with a two years caveat to them to do PGDE and writing TRCN exam.

Some of the best maths teachers, Accounting and civic teachers we have in Rivers state are those who didn't read education as a first degree course.

Amaechi strategy during the last employment of Teachers really showed that those without Education certificate are better than the supposedly education graduate.

In Rivers state, we have lawyers as teachers, engineers as teachers who later went and did PGDE and wrote TRCN exam. And the output they are rendering is quite in excess of what education graduate can offer.

You can enroll for PGDE/PDE..I'm currently running PDE at fce akoka and the form is still on you can apply. It's just a 9month program

No, you are wrong tho it depends on the district..my husband's district which covers the major area on the mainland lacks agricultural science teachers... so if you studied agric and you have PGDE good luck to you on the mainland..

B edu will start from level 8..with 62k then you move to another level every 3years by writing promotional exam... each level with it's own salary
