I have never felt this lonely and depressed in my life...I feel like everybody in my family hates me..and mind you, I am the first child of five children...I'm 20...

Nobody really understands me especially my father..I'm a full time introvert like...I just enjoy my own company...I can't count the number of times I just sit to think about my life and dreams I can never achieve again just because I am trying to live someone else's dream. This has made me cry alot of times...I dropped out of school (Madonna university) after two years of study and I've been at home for nearly two years now..I dropped out when I realized that school was not for me with continuous bad grades and lack of seriousness from my parents side in taking care of my own personal needs that weren't academic related...I told my dad that I no longer want to continue school that I would love to pursue a career in football(cos I was very very talented) if he was willing to assist me, and I that was the genesis of all my predicaments...with what I am currently going through, I just wish I Neva left that school...my life has been nothing short of depression, loneliness (cos I have zero friends, like for real no friends at all not even males), and hate especially from father all because I refused to continue studying pharmacy, a course that was even chosen for me by my father ( I never even wanted to study that course, but what did a 16 year old know??)

Third, you need to be honest to yourself and all of us. The other day, you were complaining that your rich parents are stingy to you in everything except academics. You sounded as if you were in school. But today, a few days later, you are telling us that you've been out of school for 2 years.

I believe that your Dad's enemies are working behind the scenes to destroy you.

The pressure on me lately had been so intense.. with my parents calling me lazy for staying indoors all the time, only Coming out to eat,( sometimes mom will refuse to give me food) and after much persuasion,I decided to get a job at a betting shop..but after three week, my dad and mom made me quit that job because I had to go to work on Sunday's which they didn't like....and now they want me to go look for another job not knowing what I pass through to get the first one and how hard it is for me being an introvert...

Let me just go straight to the main reason why I created this thread..

I am currently on the verge of going to jail for a long time after I used my dad's A.T.M card to purchase almost 400k worth of stuff online on Jumia... including the phone I'm using to make this thread... After months of begging for a phone but no one cared..

Only God knows how I feel right now..I just sit and say to my self "it shouldn't have gotten to this"

Need I remind you that relational distance between the two of you started at the point in time you started exhibiting your conceited attitude, not after your birth. Make consistent efforts to win back his trust and love, and in time, your efforts will yield. (Remember, you already lost the automatic love a father has for his son, now you have to earn it)

I am not holding up for him, but you don't know the extent some parents especially fathers go to damage their children emotionally, and it's possible what he says concerning him and his dad not talking, my self and my dad don't talk except greeting, do this, do that and I reply yes sir, and when he gives his advice he is not expecting me to say my mind, it is yes sir and do as he said whether it sits well with me or not... And this is the way it has been since I was a kid from Nursery school days... A strict disciplinarian, now he complains I do things on my own but the truth is we never had that closeness and it's surely going to get worst if I eventually move out of the house, cos even my siblings I hardly call them, as I grew up a loner and he forbids me having friends or engage in any social activities... Seen couple of people's comment on issues like this here on nairaland, you won't knowits possible until you experience such... In my own case I never opposed him and the only time I did after my service year since I can't be pushed about again after the damage I know it has caused me, he claimed I joined cult during NYSC, and he reported me to some people to talk to me and they were shocked at all what I have bottled in from childhood cos they know me to be an easy going fella and always gentle but na me know wetin I dey face..

Imagine abandoning a Pharmacy course at Madonna after two years! Pharmacy is what many people are praying to study. You have the brain. Your parents have the money. But you abandoned it on the flimsy reason that your Dad chose it for you and that you want to pursue a career in football.

Now, all the money spent is gone. Which parent would be happy with this?

Who told you that you can't pursue a career in football while also studying Pharmacy? You could have played on a campus team for example. By now, you would have been rounding off your study while also showcasing your footballing skills on campus.

Now, when you think of what you have lost, you start wanting to kill yourself. But, you need to change your mind about that. To do that, think as follows:
1. Life is hard. But, it is the hardness that gives you opportunity to be great. There's nobody who has achieved great things who didn't pass through some hellish experiences first. In fact, I'd like you to google 'Steve Jobs' for example.
2. In case you don't know it, you are better than 95% of your mates in this country: you have the brain and the background also. Only very few people have both.
3. As long as you are still alive, you can still achieve anything no matter what. In fact, your MISTAKES turn to MIRACLES if you continue to keep faith. One of the most enjoyable experiences you will have when you grow older is to tell the story of the hard times you overcame in your life. If you believe in the Bible, I'd like you to read Roman's 8:28 and meditate on it.

Op I'm just laughing at you. I'm just like 4 years older than you are. In your last thread I asked you if we can exchange fathers. While me my life has been battered and delayed all because I want to study medicine. Not that I'm not intelligent or don't pass jamb on a steady. But some are just bent on ruining my life. The father I have there's nothing he can do. Infact if he didn't exist it would have been better. I'll be 25 soon and I'm yet to gain admission into the university.
