Oba Akinjobi way, Ikeja (directly opposite LASUTH main gate).

There's a 'U-turnable' space like that directly opposite LASUTH main gate. Sometimes, you'll even see the traffic controller iron box at that turn. It would always look like a legitimate path for an unsuspecting driver, but na big trap & source of income for the policemen observing you from afar (at the intersection near the bridge).

Once you take the bait, na you go make the full U-turn and jejely go & drive into their hands at the intersection (controlled by traffic light).

Is there a warning signpost? Yes, there is - behind a tree. But until recently when the tree was cut down, it used to be largely hidden by the low hanging branch of that tree. Hardly would you notice at a first glance.
I paid a Police man on bike N2500 at this U-turn.

Going wrong way on a street where you can't even exceed 30km/hr doesn't put anyone's life at risk.

Oga You’re very ignorant ...

Devil's advocate spotted.
The activities of overzealous and unscrupulous lastma/ViO have led to many an unnecessary death . There are many such hot spots where these predators lie in wait to extort hapless lagosians. Seems ex -gov Ambode has suffered from there excess before and so cautioned their operations very well. As per Governor SanwoOlu I pray his eyes and ears will hear the cries of their victims and help out

Maybe they shouldn’t extort then... they should just allow them face the music by impounding and auctioning off their cars ... after getting valid court order.

If you no follow one way nobody go hold you... so follow one way and face the music

You are still yapping english.

Roads without signs that are created to enrich jobless touts.

Just be careful next time. Watch the pattern of cars parked on the street before you drive on. If they are all facing one direction, stop and ask question o.

Why ask? It could be one way ba?

Today I was driving in Lagos and suddenly I saw the car in front of me make a U-turn. I didn't take it serious then the car in front of me signalled to me to make a U-turn.

Before I could make a U-turn this towing vehicle was already in front of me. As I turned, the next thing I saw is the towing vehicle reversing straight towards my car at high speed. The speed was high enough to crush my car and and even give me and my passenger serious injury.

Thank God, I managed to dodge the towing vehicle.

Firstly, there was nothing to indicate that it's a one-way.

Secondly, this car could have injured me or perhaps killed me and even gotten away with it.

Thirdly, it wasn't even on a highway or expressway. It was on a local street, why put people's lives at risk in enforcing a "crime" that doesn't put people's lives at risk?

Now, I'm wondering:

1. How does the Lagos State Government justify this act?

2. Is this how the Lagos state government impounded all those cars they show on the news?
That's why Lagos has many crazy people.
I had a very nasty confrontation with them at beggar , I use a diesel car but that day my car cut gas, so I came out open the engin to fix it , na so I see this towing van o.
Before I knew it , one had jumped in the car, in the driver's seat. Na so I change am o
I told them tha if they do any rubbish I would cause an accident right there. I told them that nobody will tow my car out of there. I started the car and left.
They are all on illegal.

They won't put up any sign so u would know what to do, they would even go as far as putting the sign in a place where u won't be able to easily see it so u would make a mistake so they can arrest u, tomorrow one ediot will be telling u with all dz evil and witchcraft in this country if not for Nigeria igbos would be poor.

Was this around 4points hotel? “Thieves” in uniforms lurk around there as the roads have been turned to one way. Signage around there is sketchy to put it nicely

Cele bridge roundabout as you drive back to connect Oshodi-Apapa Expressway.

Those guys milked me twice. The signpost is not even there.

The way their urchin jumped into my car, I swear, if I had a gun, I would have shot him dead!

My advise is that you use Google Maps when driving. It will to a large degree direct your movements in around the streets.

The first time I went to oniru, na google map carry me enter one way. Truth be told, the sign was well hidden. I even try explaining to the police officer that it was google map that directed me into one way. Even showing him. Baba no hear ooo

Is it around African shrine by agindingbi road. My hailing car was almost impounded but got plate number removed. The driver called me to explain but the explanation didn’t sync. Maybe you should tell us area where you were harassed. We need to take the matter up if it was illegal operations

Lalasticlala, can we get more opinions.

I've Experienced this in other states as well. The traffic officers behave like ambush predators.

They wait for you to bite the bait then jump out of nowhere and pounce on you.

But trying to kill someone for driving against traffic is another level and I've never seen it in another state except Lagos.

Thank God óò. This feels wicked. Risking people's lives for traffic offence. Why? And no road sign sef.

For this asking for Location, it's around Unilag, Yaba.

I swear I'm tired. Person manage to narrowly escape poverty legitimately only for some leeches/animals/oppressors in uniform to make life unbearable.
tomorrow is festive. They need to make money today. Today, I drove through a lot of check points- VIO, police, traffic officers and FRSC. I was like what is this?

Those guys are from Lagos State Ministry of Transport. They are very crazy set of people. The other day, they towed a friend's car who parked in front of his gate because the gate was being fixed and he couldn't go in. He wasn't blocking any traffic. They charged him 50k to get his car back. They are very crazy. Saw them all over the place today around Alausa.

Abeg, bus stop no dey Itire junction on Apapa Oshodi Express Way? Dropped a couple of people off one evening then I got bombarded by a tow truck, a filled up danfo bus with one aggressive police man with a gun and a crazy ass Lastma official, demamding my keys.

Long story short, crowd began to gather arguing with them that place is a bus stop. Fear catch these mofos and they took off. This country is a joke! God help us all.
