You're very lucky my brother, some will lure you to pass a road that has a hidden one way sign, if you follow them mistakenly they will say you passed one way... |

Ever since Bol Ahmed Tinubu decided that rather than have Lagos State Metropolis infested with miscreants from Lagos Island,Oshodi, Mushin and Ikeja, they would convert them to Government workers - they are trained but their mentality abides |

Ademolaononuga: Does Google map take cognizance of these local one ways (the ones that are established in the Streets by local governments)? For now, I avoid driving to areas that I'm not familiar with. |

Nigeria is a jungle. When you know this you've known peace.. My Experience My baby was admitted at a private hospital close to Akowonjo round about. After discharged from the hospital, we were asked to get a particular medication from any pharmacy outside as they don't have it. I decided to go through the dopemu flyover to drive to iyana ipaja. This was at between 5:45pm to 6pm, immediately I drove half way the bridge I noticed on coming vehicle in my lane, I was like why are these guys using one way, same with my wife as she was sitting behind with my daughter. As I approach the small round about after the bridge to make a U-turn, boom a police Hilux van just drove and blocked the way..8 armed police men came out and pointed their gun and asked me to park. At first Instance, I was wondering what happened, what did I do same with my wife...people around were shouting one way one way! One of the armed men asked me to open my door, which I did and he hopped in and instructed I drive to their station that it's one way. I then told him that I know it's one way, but I'm rushing to the pharmacy to get a prescribed medication for my daughter who was discharged from the hospital, i showed him other medication given to us by the hospital. Oga still insist that we go to their station that m car must be taken to Alausa. We got to their station, and the Hilux was right behind us..so he asked me to go talk to his boss. I approached the man and told him that I drove through the one way because it's an emergency, I needed to get a medication for my daughter. He was looking at me that do I know how much I'll spend if my car is impounded and taken to Alausa, I responded Yes sir. After like few seconds he asked me to leave. I shouted shun sir and Thank him..when I drove past where the police men obstructed me, some men standing there that witnessed the scene were asking me that, oga they release you, you get luck o....That from 3pm dopemu bridge is one way o. How on Earth would I'd known this, they said there's a sign post to this..i said ok o. If not for my little daughter I don't know wetin for Shelley that day. |

beardedboy: Exactly how does driving against one-way traffic not put people’s lives at risk? Or do you want the government to wait until someone is killed before enforcing laws?! > |
Re: How I Narrowly Escaped Vehicle Impoundment in Lagos by 9jaRealist: 1:48pm On Jul 20, 2021 |
SolarEdge: Nigerians and “my own is different” mentality… You broke the law and you’re forming indignation. If you were abroad would you drive against one-way traffic? But you folks turn Nigeria into a country of ANYHOWNESS and then wail about “jungle”! If Nigeria can be termed a “jungle”… It’s only because Nigerians act like ANIMALS! SMDH!! > |

victorVIC1:Many of those roads were converted to one-ways. They weren't constructed as one-ways from inception. It's the duty of the government to ensure that conspicuous notice is placed on each road after conversion. 1 Like |

colestephan86: ariesbull: Of course, cars can always breakdown… But when that happens, they should be towed OFF the road. You are putting other road users lives at risk… And bet each of you know you could not get away with that in any civilized country. > |
