Dont give your car out for 25k o, unless you are an NGO, i rent mine at 35k weekly but l do all repairs.
Anything less the 30/35k is an incredible loss, forget vouching o, that is deception, its either 30/35k or keep your car at home, drivers should not be telling you the best rent to pay, off course they will give you an amount that serves their interest and that will ultumately ruin you, you should be asking partners and owners, 35k is the most ideal amount when it comes to rental, at the end of the day drivers no dey send you, when things go turpsy turvy, bad.
Trust me on this.

@smallvill, pls adhere to this advice but pls also make sure you also carry us along about this in the first 4-6months. I'm interested to know how all.of these end.

Thank you

From a driver perspective. There was barely a weekend I didnt gross 40 - 50k (net at least 25k) even during the driest period. On public holidays/festivals, I can do 50k in 1 day if I drive morning and evenings.

Mind you these figures where made morning and evenings only because I typically hate afternoon traffic and selcting only trips to areas I consider to have good roads.

Morning rush (excluding bonus) 5am - 12noon, a driver can consistently make 8k net (Monday - Wednesday), slightly lower on Thursday and Fridays at atleast 4k net.

Nb- I did not factor afternoon and evening weekdays because I almost never did drive by then. But even fron the drivers app, with the surge that comes up at peak afternoon and late in the evening, will the driver not make something?

No serious driver should make less tha 60k net a week execpt under extraordinary circumstances. And if you make 60k and owner of the car collects 40k (2/3), it is not too much given that he owns the car, carries the risk of business failure and bares maintenance

You are very correct on ur write up.... The market has regulated itself now .... If you know what you are doing u make money .....drivers should be able to deliver up to the 30k to 35k, 40k might be a bit too high........

I think overall investors should find a way to strategize . if my cost of maintenance goes up with any driver due to their carelessness, I will increase rental delivery simple as that..........

LOL....25K a day, less 5k (i doubt you will use 5k fuel going anywhere in this lagos in a day)! I will just assume 5k...so 20k a day it is.

for 7 days he get 140k abi, then the man that put down 2.5 mil get a whole 25k..What a fair bargain..

So out of every 20k, partner is getting just about 3,500 naira. Did you see the mentality that some of your colleagues are dishing out there?.

Did you see why PDP/APC is treating all of us this way? Did you notice the resemblance between PDP/APC and you guys here?

For this it's usually a one-off.

Guy since you no invite me to come eat salah meat let me dish my annoyance on u. grin

Now, look at my earning for the whole of last month. Lets round it up to 300k for both offline and indriver which I dont do much. Offline I also dont do much again because of bonuses.

Now, assume rental to be 25k/week... Which is 100k/month.
I buy fuel 4k daily... 26days it 104k/month but let's leave it at 100k/month.
Let's forget minor money's I give as sara, police and others.

300k-100k-100= 100k

So can you see? 100k for 13hrs on the d road daily for 25/26 days... Mind you this money is not even guaranteed because there're lot of factors that can take 50% or 75% away in just ine day.

No health insurance from my partner
No pension
No leave allowances
To housing allowances
No feeding allowance
No transportation allowance (I've to pay for a cap to take my family out or go offline to do that)
No live insurance
No harverd allowance from partner.

All the partners I've had ever since I know how much of my money entered their car for maintenance so forget all those 100% maintenance... Audio ni

If I've to pay you 30k how much will be left for me? To foot my bill? All in the name that you bought a tokunbo car of 1.8ltr engine my ass that still belongs to you even after 3 or 4yrs? Guy are you kidding me?

Listen business is patient and for you to break even it has to take a minimum of 5yrs so where are you guys getting the notion of 2yrs?? Aren't you a highway robber

Come of it pls... Its because it's your car that's why you see it that way. Don't compare Mr. A with Mr. B they don't have the same strenght, tenacity, endurance and tolerance. My ideology is different from yours.

I can rent Your car and decide to park it in my garage and pay you at the end of every week from proceeds from my other business... I've done this b4 for like 3months erratically with the civic... Anyone could tell from the millage. Why? because I needed to be mobile for personal and business purposes so why tell me pay 30/40k, for what??

Guy if you need that lets sigh a hp agreement. So car owners should stop having the mentality of entitlement or thinking you're doing yje driver a favour ok. Its business. If it doesn't favour you sell the car and look for other things to do.

25k/30k is okay for rental any body not okay with that should hit the road and see how difficult it is to be faithful with even 25k for straight 3months first b4 thinking of 30k.

Interesting...

Please I have an interesting and unique question to ask you. But I'll need to know if you're interested in answering any question here before I ask sir.

It's concerning the current debate here. But the answer can be as simple as a YES or NO.
You can chose to elaborate more if you so wish.

Now that part are cheap now that this is that, what us it? Are you the only business man in Nigeria?

What can you say about a man who wants to make his capital all in 6month even at the detriment of another man's life? Isn't that worst than the greedy wicked driver that works hard enough to be faithful to his rental??

It seems that London you're doing uber has affected your thinking.

Why do u think dru does only rental
Why do u think he prefers to do repairs by himself
Why do you think he moved to civic rather than the expensive corolla.

Dru has mastered his business model , so for the next foreseeable future as far as ehailing is concerned, dru will be in business as far as ehailing is in lagos Nigeria.

Dru welldone.. grin. your strategy eventually worked out. Lure drivers with 2k challenge to upload dashboards(dashboards that doesn't mostly translate to money in your account) and now, onwers are bent on increasing rent or 40k/60k. But the truth is, except you decide to drive your car, drivers will always have larger share because they really deserve it. Please where is @BAZO? your silence in all these is begining to be suspicious. grin. My Boss @izzou, I hail sir.

Note.
1. He instigated it all
2. He's still doing 25k and never asking for increase
3. He no more recruit drivers from the this platform

What then is his reason for action No.1?

To get back at NL uber drivers? I don't know... Does all owner partners beling here? Or to make owners suffer after increasing rent?

What's the sense in it actually??

Let's see how far things go fr9m now till 6months time.

The average of a hard working driver for a day is between 20k and 25k, for lazy drivers like Felicity l can say btw 10K to 15k everyday, so he will need 3days
To make what a hard working driver will make, in order to be fair to all parties and for the success of the value chain 2/3 days should be dedicated to car owners and 4/5days for drivers, in a nutshell delivery shoud be btw 40/50k weekly so every person on the value chain will be contented, the platforms have set the ball rolling by increasing what drivers earn to keep them happy its only logical that everyone on the value chain should be happy.
From my observations, a lot of UBER drivers in Nigeria are well educated and think logically, not like danfo drivers, UBER driving should be seen as a stepping stone to better things.
For drivers that have big dreams and hope to become successes in life, show your dashboard to encourage others, as to what can be accomplished,
Nov/Dec is the 2m gross period for those hardworking drivers with a plan, and January is the month that you invest the 2m you have saved to generate a new income stream, implement your new business idea,
The choice is stark and simple you are either a Felicity, who talks a lot and accomplishes nothing
Or you are a Kanuisgoat who shares his dashboard and is born to be great, Kanuisgoat has a plan & becos he has a plan and he is not bothered about greeting or such infintesimal nonsense.

Just like with anything in life.. Job, marriage, spiritual etc . they should be a progression in one's life .....

Driving uber should be a stepping stone .. Even though I don't drive .. It was a stepping stone for me to do other things.......

So we hope that the hard working drivers will progress from driver to car owner. And from car owner to fleet etc ..... It can done.
.........Pearl1910 is a good example of that......My last driver is an example of that... 1 of my driver was able to save up money and got his own Tokunbo car .. This is a married man with 4kids .........anything is possible

I keep wondering why this 3rd party Ins. is 5k... It shouldn't be more than 1k for crying out loud. Yes! because you guys don't do anything when accident occurs tue only thing you do is print the paper that's all. And printing is N200 for color.

My brother ! My brother !....currently on similar road, I am heading for a training in China coming months ....Lagos state government is currently on the look for indigenous app that can actually match the two power house and they are ready to invest....

And they're sending you to China to learn how the price will be favourable to riders or drivers or how to write a good app program that will reduce the cost of parts, maintenance and cost of purchasing a tokunbo car or what exactly are they sending you guys to china to do?

Our government with misplaced priorities, and they're all over the place calling for foreign investors to come invest in Nigeria and after few years they look for how to take over their business away from them. Wicked people.

This is exactly the same habit lagos LLs have. The moment they see you're making progress in their rented property they start frustrating you with increment of rent till you get frustrated and park out, go there the following week they've started same business you're doing claiming all your customers.

This is the same thing happening here now in this forum. Asking for 45k for car rent. Thieves.

When you people where buying cars for 1.3m 1.5m how much was rent? When drivers were protesting and clamouring for price increment I can point those owners who retrieved their cars from drivers that joined the strike... Now. Drivers are benefiting from their hard work, you'll that didn't support the struggle are coming up to shout for increment. Are drivers the reason for high increase in forex? Are they responsible for increase in mechanic charges?

Off course the market is over saturated, we have more drivers without a car than those with a car so why not look for that mumu who you think will pay you 40/45k weekly then let's see how far he can go. Even moove1that rolled out 2016 cars still rent lesser than 25k weekly how much more your stupid old 2002/03 2.4lt/1.8L engine you want to rent at 35-50k. And that stupid godfather @50 yrs is looking for who he can enslave for 25k for week end. You think because you're in Britain you've now master the the tactics of our colonial masters so you can now come and recognize us again abi? See how stupid and senseless your thinking is?

You think you're making progress in life driving uber in London? Do you know how much my ****** earns over there as a programmer? Old foolball like you.

If only Nigerians who are intellectually lazy that do driving jobs full time abroad qoute me anywhere I'll challenge you. Your brain is dead that's why you can't get a degree to get a better job instead you choose to step so low to driving uber. Ewu... Wise up!

Anyways, I don't bpame you shall I bpame your old age after all which book one enter your dead brain again self and which organization wey go employ old man like you self... The only way I see the Lagos State government taking the business away from Bolt and Uber is to allow their ehailing cars use the brt lane... Subsidize the fare for riders, give driver bonuses and placd them on a pension and allowances scheme.

Do this and see how Bolt and Uber fizzle away.

How was your experience with the civic? I ask because it seems like the only person who has good things to say about civic is dru23.

If I recall, pearl1910 and jpworld said they used it for ehailing at some point and the experience was not good.

In terms of speed it ok
Look is perfect
Ruggedity is rank it lower to the Corolla
Fuel economy is perfect provided everything is in good shape
Body is stronger than the Corolla but 2nd hand value is the main issue here.

My main issue with the car is, same way the ground clearance is low is same way the inside is also low and there's nothing you can do about the interior lowness and where thus lowness affect is your body. It can cause you seripus waste and back pains.

I've used these two cars so believe me when I say.
