If Russia doesn't have it, it would have ended up like Syria, Venezuela and Iran. If you want peace, prepare for war. Because the US can't defeat Russia in a full blown war, they resort to economic sanctions. But if they can, Libya would be heaven compare to what Russia would have become.

True but the F35 won't be foolish the close in, the definitely see the Su-35 first, track and disengage. If the Su-35 gets lucky. They won't know where the attack is coming from and the best course of action is to disengage and not run into the unknown, so both side go home. But a Su 35 running into missile pathway may definitely run into ambush and you know the closer the distance the more effective an air to air missile against a plane. The F35 has the most advanced electronic suits and surveillance systems, giving it a better deterrence over greater distance compare to the Su35. Imagine a blind giant fighting a normal human. You will try strike at the same time running and avoiding detection.
