While I appreciate the information, that doesn't change the fact that Uber Nigeria was an ad hoc response to something that was never intended.

U may be right but Uber operates differently in different countries even within America, they have different features and modes of operation in the different states.
This Rentals style in Nigeria is an intentional plan and design from the beginning.

Miss driving or the money, cos the last time I checked, u were still driving.

Please who knows a piece of place where I can do bolt inspection, the contract I signed with Indriver is gradually coming to an end.

Won't lie boss, unless one is on top echelon, e hailing money is fast becoming money ritual, I don't care abt the insults from riders again. Netting some one salary in 3 days feels good, but sh*t can b apprehensive, no one can tell tomorrow, so I'll advice drivers, make d most of now and save! Save!! Save!!!

The business is here to stay, 80% of the caliber of people we move around will rather die than enter public transport. That's why they don't have money but they will still book u n do fake transfer.
Transportation is a necessity and more new customers are patronising everyday.
Only thing that can slow u down is if the App company blocks u.

I saw the potentials when Uber came to Naija and I dived in. I have been in the business in different roles since inception, and I say, any driver that takes this serious, and adds sense to it can grow financially in a very short time. I use to casually say "this business is clean blood money" grin

Real blood money, but I don't agree to that short time financially growth, as a starter, they will always b learning the ropes, but if one is discipline enough, I think he will break free. Someone once said u can't use e hailing to build a house, can we say the same of today? Might not b the 150m kind of house, but obviously one can arrange his retirement base somewot. I still have peeps that started b4 me still struggling to own a car, that's my view about inspiration (if wot Obi did at Oba no inspire person for this life, even if u give the person penalty, come remove keeper for post, the person go Baggio the penalty), some ppl r not just focus. Sometimes I wonder, who makes more money btw danfo drivers and e hailing drivers? I have even seen guys that drop e hailing and embrace korope, uber is not working for them, but dia is this pride in almost all uber driver's, like I am getting it.

Necessity is what I have come to understand, it's just like my Igbo brothers selling food stuffs, ppl must eat. U said they deh don't have money? Do u know how easy it is to pick someone from their estate without bike and drop off at destination, women hate stress fa. Public bus for 2 person may cost 400 per head, with all d I'm selling agbo noise inside the bus, what if they just add 200 and take a trip of 1200, which one is better? People are waking up to how ease life can b.

I use to say similar things.... But the cabals were coming for my head, leg, arm etc.. They were like bunch of hyenas ........

The business has its challenges just like any other business. Due to fierce competition the business has regulated itself to be more on drivers side.......

And also uber should be a stepping stone for others to do great things...... If drivers are smart and patient enough they should be able to get their own cars and put on the road ......

Uber and co has provided job opportunities to a country that has 1 of the highest unemployment rate in Africa......People should appreciate it and make the best from it and move on to other things.....

The point here is for people to seize the moment now and make best out of it.....

Yea... absolutely.
This life, people manifest diversely. given same tools and environment people will still perform differently, so I don't really blame anybody for their life outcome, they have simply not gotten on their preferred track yet.

For people that prefer danfo and korokpe...What I see is that lack of patience and courtesy, many can't tolerate the disrespect. Reason they will prefer korokpe were u can give it back to d passenger as u wish.

Indriver kept beeping on Tue&Wed., I didn't even bother to check.

Mehn, Bolt is on a new level . The app experience is fantastic.

A rider that did fake alert since July 4th. called me on the 18th that I should send my account number. grin I had even written off the ₦1,500 sef.

Omo, if one can put in the time, Bolt will put you on earnings an average Lagosian will always dream of....

Maybe that's why I like Indriver, it's my own korope, if I don't start the trip or cancel the trip the moment the rider enters and it became officially non-agreed offline. The way the rider sit up always make me laff, if u do anyhow, u go see anyhow. I study riders rating on Indriver and know the best treatment to give him or her. And as for making it, I won't say korope guys don't make it, tho I don't know dia daily intake, but I think e hailing drivers are more exposed and this have helped them in their decision making process. One of the value of education to say the least.

"Put in time" that's the key, if the energy... when cheerful given posted 25k around 5, I was already on 20.5k on Indriver, if I put in more energy obviously I'll hit 30 sumtin, but someone is waiting for me at home grin I didn't mention any name o grin

On your Uber Partner App and if u registered as a partner driver like I did, u can access that option. It's officially Uber design. they had another company that ran the operations of that pairing drivers and partners. Uber shared info of both partners needing driver and drivers needing partners with them.

As a Fleet Manager, I can see all my drivers, names, car, plate number earnings, even the trips they did, fare and the time, when I log in to my Fleet Manager account online. Its Ubers design. Uber has different websites for drivers and partners. Unlike Bolt

I just completed a trip to MM2 after a long time and there are new signs everywhere saying Drop-off Only, No Parking, No waiting, bla bla bla. Only an ignorant or careless person will still fall prey by picking up someone from that area when there are multiple signs boldly warning u.
Recall when the stories came up that people where being arrested for picking up passengers at the normal pickup and dropoff area, I asked if there is a sign that informs the public about this new development.
Be vigilant, observant and patient.

Yes agree not for private parties to rent to each other. But that rental option is there for people that can't afford their own cars or whatever reason it might be ....And people are rushing those cars in my state.. It was a friend of mine that told me about it ..

I was shocked when he said it .. He said at times no cars will be available.. He said the company had over 700 cars . This was like 3 years ago.....

Can u imagine, $150/week only. Compared to what drivers make.
Later some people will say it's naija drivers that want to turn the world upside down with greed. If only we learn and inform ourselves before we speak.

That was about 2 years or more ago before covid .. I think now it is $200.. I know few people that make $2k a week driving......

But they put in long hours driving.....so those that making money are making it ......

No oo. The first trip from Shomolu to Festac was 2600. The driver even had to carry many loads. But the price wasn't same when I was booked.
