The Yorubas always had the Cinema industry as far back as Hubert Ogunde s production in the 1940s and Baba salah in the 80s. Do your research wothout sentiments...
Nollywood is commendable but still infested with substandard make it quick productions with little or no morals ...mostly about lavish spendings , rituals and neocolonialism.
Check out the youruba version of the Nollywood and observe they still try to promote more of their culture ...
Take note -I'm neither Yoruba or Igbo ...
I'm on the side of truth...

7 artists of Yoruba heritage got Grammy awards to their names and the Nollywood 50 highest-grossing movies of all time list is dominated by Yoruba producers.

Entertainment is Yoruba, it is reflective in the culture. Infact entertainment is one of the main reason why Nigeria is a brand because our music kinda give us good rep not only in Africa but beyond.

However, Wizzy Baba is an African icon and a face of the black continent. So we Yorubas don’t claim him alone, he is an African Icon.

Egbon mi, all this bragging just because Oyinbo people dey dance to our song?

No African artist will ever compete successfully on the international scene by sounding like American artists.

India and Asia you are good. I didn’t say Africa but it takes others to believe in you for Africa to follow suit
