No I don't have a vaccine certificate. I have not been vaccinated yet, but would do that before my trip.

For appointment, it is MANDATORY. Your appointment letter will be collected from you and added to your documents by the VFS guys. NB: The total fee now is almost 60k, as UPS delivery is compulsory now. They are not doing personal pickup for now.

Hi,

1. For tourism application to France, you need to rule out your day to day activities in a cover letter, you will have to state things to do from day one until your last day (best to choose 5/7 days). If possible, book a cancellable Tours.

2. It is mostly important to submit a company bank statements of account along with your personal savings/current statements of account if you are a business or company owner.

3. As i am aware, at the moment, France gives preference to frequent travellers for the purpose of Tourism. (Currently on VFS site, there are no appointments for first time visitors) you can check;
https://row1.vfsglobal.com/GAR1Ph1Appt/Account/RegisteredLogin?ReturnUrl=%2fGAR1Ph1Appt%2fHome%2fSelectVAC

Who are frequent travellers?
People who have at least travelled to The UK, USA, CANADA or SCHENGEN STATES.

4. For your balance of N500k, Flight ticket to France this summer is about an average of N410,000 (the Exchange rate on GDS platform just increased to 1 usd / N460 some days back), Hotel room for about 5 Nights can cost you a minimum of N200k, living expenses per day is estimated at an average of 50/60 Euros per person per day, for 5 days you should have 300 Euros (N180k) amidst other expenses (taking covid tests, etc).
The consular maybe puzzled at your true intention of wanting to travel for the purpose of tourism.

5. When you sum these, you have an average minimum of N800k, this implies that your trip is way above N800k on a N500k balance, the Consular MIGHT refuse your application on the grounds of insufficient funds.
Reasons been that, he will be concerned about what you and family will fall back to in Nigeria.

6. However, i am not saying it is not possible for you to be issued a visa, it is solely at the Consular's discretion.

7. Personally, i will advise you to work on your accounts and save more money.

Good Luck.

Appointment categories are divided into two.

1) For frequent travellers . Meaning if you have been to either UK, US, Europe before. Your Appointment schedule is different.

2) For non frequent travellers. Meaning anybody who has not been to those countries I mentioned above has a different Appointment category.

Now, it is only natural for those who have not been to UK,US, or Europe before to be more in number. That's why they had to split it because of the covid 19 pandemic. My Mentor personally asked them about this.

Good morning Josephb
Thanks for the below message. i had a permanent resident visa to Spain in 2016 which i did not use, Spain being part of Schengen. So if am applying for France 2 weeks tourist visa, should i still apply as a first timer?
Secondly, do you think having a Spanish unused visa in my International passport will be an added advantage to my application?
Thank you and hoping to get your response soon.

Have you tried booking an appointment for a first timer in VFS Lagos and got a date recently?

Hi Lizzer,

To the best of my knowledge, a frequent (traveller) is one who has previously had at least a Used UK, USA, CANADA or SCHENGEN visa.

Having an unused and expired Spanish residence permit MIGHT favour your application, just state reasons you couldn't use it and tidy up other supporting documents, then you are good to go.

Good Luck.

Ha! Let him book the appointment for you . You will pay inside VFS . Just make sure you have up to 60k in your account. This is for visa fee, appointment fee , VFS service charge and UPS courier if you live in Lagos. For other states I don't know the price. PLEASE go inside with your ATM card and have that amount in your account. Or you book the appointment yourself na!

Use this link

If you are scheduling a group appointment, reduce it to one then the other.

how many months did you pay for? Please am I suppose to pay rent for the entire length of my programme let say 2 years MSc program, in order to secure Visa?

When applying for the accommodation, tell the landlord you will stay for more than a year, however,
the embassy will want u to get 3 months contract first. So u can decide to pay for next month but tell the landlord you need 3 months contract first.
