VP Osibanjo, it’s farcical democracy in Nigeria given the fact of the skewed and lopsided political structure of Nigeria.

Even some of the well educated politicians in Nigeria’s southern region do not understand the fact that land mass or population is never used as criterion to proliferate too many states in an area of a country with larger land mass or population.

Equal number of states should be between the 3 regions that formed Nigeria in 1960.
With Nigeria’s electoral rule that a presidential candidate must win 25% of votes in 2/3 of the 36 states, no presidential candidate from the south can win Nigeria’s presidential election unless the northern region with 19 states decided not support a presidential candidate from the north.
Thus, the northern region which claims it’s educationally disadvantaged largely decides who must preside over Nigeria anytime.

Legitimacy eluded Nigeria after northern military dictators wrongly used land mass or population as criterion to proliferate too many states (19 + Abuja) and too many local government areas in the old northern region; but created only 17 states and fewer local government areas in the two southern regions that formed independent Nigeria with the northern region.
Given the undue large number of Reps drawn to the National Assembly by the far north area of Nigeria favored by excess number of states, it’s not possible anymore to restructure Nigeria politically in a democratic atmosphere.

Nobody can deny that there are very serious challenges in the country, particularly in the areas of security, the economy, and standard of living generally.
But that is not all there is to Nigeria of today, and those challenges are being addressed very robustly. That hymn says “behind a frowning providence, He hides a smiling face.
His purposes will ripen fast, unfolding every hour.”
We will surely see an end to the challenges, if we all work together, and eschew hate speeches.

We Rise.
The vice President just stated the obvious, and you're giving Nigerians assurance as if you're part of the leadership. Why do you like misleading Nigerians.

You maybe can’t impose Democracy on a nation of largely uneducated citizenry easily exploitable by the educated because of their ignorance .

According to u, "the president appoint anyone he wants". Does that include d VP?

At what time was osinbajo "appointed" as running mate to buhari by a party leader? Was it before d election or after d election?

Osibanjo be sounding like motivational speakers ... Apart from sharing trade moni and condolence visits, what else does he do as a VP ?

He is the reason why south south remain peaceful up till now, or when last did you hear about Niger Delta militancy? He ensure there are more modular refineries and also his visit them, birthed the establishment of maritime academy which is running full Academy, continuous scholarship programme for the Niger Deltans and ongoing Ogoni clean up project. I can go on and on.
