ufay:I've rescheduled once before when I saw a closer date (Jan. 25 2022 instead of initial June 2, 2022). This appointment is in Lagos. Now that I'm considering cancelling and book an appointment in Abuja, I really pray I won't have to pay again. |

I had this issue too.It could probably mean your school as compared to others allows you to take a minimum of 6 credit hours per semester. If this is no problem and there’s enough money for you to take more credit talk to your counselor about extra credit when registering. Adesquare1992: |

AirstarKane:Yh, we need serious prayers that Embassy run more smoothly to enable us run out of this country. After the prayer, God will magically move all the pending files to finished without human preview. He will make them create magical dates(Sunday probably ) and increase the work load of the staff so that we can get Visa. God will do this and many more!! How? If it was by prayer, Nigeria will be a developed country. Let us try and be realistic na. A lot of Nigerians are applying leading to the logistics problem. If less Nigerians apply, there will be little or no logistics problem. So when u pray you God, do u pray that other Nigerians don't apply or that he gives magical strength to embassy staff who have a set number of hours to work period week? What are u really praying for God to do? To favor you above others who didn't join in ur prayers? Let us not be mocking God as our Leaders have taken to but try to be realistic |

Everyone here trying to give there knowledge about visa and any other problem posted on this thread, you’re the best God bless you all and grant all of us our heart desires. So I booked my appointment yesterday for Lagos consulate, and the only available date I got was 28th of July 2022,immediately I sent a mail for rescheduling and uploaded my documents(I-20,SEVIS payment confirmation and my MRV receipt)so I checked my dashboard today and I got a reschedule option on the toolbar,I clicked it and the available dates are all January 2022…is it advisable I cancel my appointment and reschedule for the dates in January 2022 or I just wait till I get a response or How do I go about the EA or ER coz I don confuse like this ooo,my class start date is August 30….Please I need y’all gurus opinion |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 16 by misskano: 10:20pm On Jul 29, 2021 |
Bamdaniels:The reschedule option is always there for everyone. You have to wait for them to send you an email that your emergency request has been approved. That is where you would get a link to schedule a closer date. Typically, that happens in 24 hours or more. You can only reschedule once so if you do that now and the email comes, you would not be able to reschedule again until you pay another MRV fee. Just be patient. |

Bamdaniels:You're not alone bro, I did the same since July 8 - got June 2, 2022 - applied for EA same day and still awaiting a response till this moment, rescheduled on 17th to January 25, 2022. At the moment, I'm contemplating cancelling and changing to Abuja, my fear is not to lose my MRV. |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 16 by iretex1(m): 11:32pm On Jul 29, 2021 |
misskano:Are you quite certain about this? I want to believe that the reschedule shouldn't be connected with EA at all, maybe because I already did while still awaiting a decision that yet to come after 3 weeks. |

@misskano I really appreciate your comment,I’ll just wait and see wassup in the coming weeks…coz it’s seems the whole process or system Dey change per week if not everyday sef…..I’m seriously praying that this Delta variant thing don’t cause more havoc and delay for 2021 fall students.. God abeg just make way |

Ehizy007:Firstly, I ascribe all the glory to God for His mercies and grace . If you believe in God keep believing, trusting and having faith do not let anyone tell you otherwise. Never underestimate the power of prayer and Grace! I'd also like to say a big thank you to this platform for the wealth of information/knowledge herein and also transcripts shared, which I richly benefited from. 1st Attempt: Appointment - 7th June 2021 Consulate - Lagos Window - 5 Status - Denied. It was a day of dishing out blue paper, for every 10-20 people interviewed, only 2 or 3 were approved while I was still there (not exagerating, you can ask those that had their interview on that day). I was interviewed by a dark elderly woman (black American in her 50's). On this day I was just gradually recovering from Malaria, so my voice wasn't as audible as it should. V.O: Good morning, pass me your i20 and passport. ME: I did. V.O: Why are you going to the States? ME: I'm going for my masters in Architecture with concentration in Sustainable Architecture (types...). V.O: Who is sponsoring? (Glancing at my i20 and then staring at me). ME: My mom (said where she works)...I also have some personal savings which will cater for my living expenses (types...). V.O: Do you have proof to show that? ME: I passed my sponsorship letter (glances through). V.O: switches off mic and says I should give her some time, she went inside with my documents...after 2mins she comes back, types for a while and then reached for the blue paper, returns my documents and passport and says I can try again (putting on a pity face). I was in shock as I didn't see that coming and didn't know what she went inside to confirm. 2nd Attempt: Appointment - 29th July 2021 Time - 7:30am Consulate - Abuja Window - 7 COA - $32k Funding - Nill Status - Approved (8:30am). My interview lasted for about 3mins. Interviewed by a beautiful white lady in her 30's. The two guys before me on the row were denied. Immediately I saw that and I was next to be interviewed, I resumed my words of affirmation, declaring that "my case is different, I shall not return with my passport" ( I was the first to be approved In my qeue). V.O: Good morning ME: Good morning. V.O: Place your fingers for your biometrics ME: I did. V.O: I can see you're going to BG for your Masters in Architecture (starts typing...). ME: Yes, that's correct...then quickly added with a concentration in Sustainable Architecture (nods head and continues typing...). V.O: Will you be focusing on Green Architecture? ME: Yes, exactly (keeps typing...). V.O: What will this degree do for you? ME: I intend to come back to Nigeria and hope to utilise this specialised knowledge and skill acquired in creating a niche for myself as an Architect, and my company where I currently work, here in Nigeria as I would be one of the pioneers to bring this back home (nods head and continues typing...). V.O: What do you currently do? ME: I'm an Architect in one of the leading real estate/ construction company in Banana Island, Lagos (nods head and continues typing...). V.O: Who is sponsoring this? ME: My mom (said where she works)...I also have some personal savings which will cater for my living expenses (nods head and continues typing...). V.O: What did you go for on your last visit? ME: Vacation. V.O: Congratulations I will be approving your visa. ME: Thank you. Then she went ahead to talk of the strict Covid-19 protocol and all but I actually didn't hear anything just kept my gaze on her and was smiling behind the mask as I remembered what peeps here always say about "not hearing anything" (facts). Advice/word of encouragement: DO NOT Giveup on your dreams. Stay focused! A delay/denial isn't the end of Life, Try Again! (Na who giveup carry last). Above all, Trust God! Pray, fast if you can. DO NOT tell Lies. Speak with Confidence, maintain eye contact at all time. God that did it for me will do same for you (What God Cannot Do Doesn't Exists) GO GET YOUR VISA's! #Believe. |

If that was on your I-20, then it's just an estimated number of years in which you are expected to complete your degree, and not necessarily your program duration. Be mindful that to remain in F1 status as a graduate student each semester, you must always be enrolled in 9 credit hours. To enrol for less than this, your DSO must approve a reduced course load for you that semester. 33-36credits can be completed in 2 years (4 consecutive fall and spring semesters), if you do 9 credits per semester.
