The regular CLS 550 that is about 400+Hp cannot try race with a 600+Hp BMW 7 series or Bentley or Cadillac CTS etc, they will outrun and leave it inside the dust. Even the most powerful CLS 63 AMG is not up to 600Hp, so it has many senior brothers out there.
