budaatum:Even with that, America still have the best economy in the world and we can service our debt and that's why it's not damaging to Americans. Take it or leave it and i still stand on what i say about Nigeria. |

PrideofLincoln1:I agree. That country needs to split and each region take control of it's own fate. We were better off before federalism. |

Tdotbluejays:Imagine the kind of efforts these Nazi lovers here put in Western Countries, and they never mentioned a word about the country being mismanaged that will have effects on them and their families. I guess their eyes will open when a bag of rice is selling for N50.000 and the Thieflicians will be rationing the rice to them when election comes around. |

Tdotbluejays:Nigeria will split forever then. Humans are not good with sets or should I say differences. Things like language, religion etc. Cause problem for us especially in Africa. Nigeria would be a better nation if we didn't have some many different tribes. If all we know is that we are Nigerians and we all speak pidgin and English. |

Tdotbluejays:See? That's why I asked you to shelve your sentimentality. You are a man for God's sake. Turn on the testosterone or something. Nigeria is far from an Eldorado. To buttress that, I cited an example in my response to you that Nigeria has one of the highest eclampsia rates. Have you ever research that fact? No. Are pregnant women dying all around me? No! But just because the women around me have better access to ante natal services doesn't mean every pregnant female in Jigawa or Yobe State does. These are the hundreds of thousands of victims who make up that statistics. It is irrational for me to negate that reality. The south of Nigeria is doing well. But there are millions of impoverished people up north. Our comfortable realities do not negate their hardships. It's silly to think so. Just because PrideofLincoln hasn't been shot at on the streets of Chicago doesn't negate the reality that the average person is more likely to be murdered in the neighborhoods around him than than many other places in the world, including Nigeria. Have you ever seen me argue when you make claims like there are millions of poor people in Nigeria? I don't. I only respond when you personalise it because there are millions who are comfortable too but their comfort doesn't negate the harsh realities of those poor people. Just because I am skilled and earn enough to be comfortable doesn't mean there aren't people who would go hungry tonight and aren't sure of where breakfast would come from in the same Nigeria. There's no need to get emotional about these things. I cited an example about an incident on ClubHouse. I have such debates daily and the reactions are mostly sentimental. What if I tell you there are places in the U.S. where cannibalism is excused what would you say to that? |

benalvino3:Nigeria worked when there was regionalism. Each region was moving at a fast pace except maybe the North. I would prefer this over this current Abuja style of politics. I wish, but I know that It would be hard for Nigeria to break because there is Unity in the Senate and HOR. These guys would fight till the end to protect their own interest. Western region of past for example was developing at a fast pace. This development was built off cocoa and agriculture. Compare that to Nigeria of present where nothing works. I use to be very patriotic, but Na condition make crayfish bend. |

DissTroy:First of all you are speaking out of your ass. You don't know the neighborhood that i live and i don't live in chicago but i know you do not know the difference and i will excuse you for that. I live in Chicagoland and precisely in Oak Park which is west of Chicago and you can Google Harlem Avenue and Chicago Avenue and my house is very close to the world renown architect Wright Home. You say a lot of junks about things you do not know. Most neighborhoods in Chicago are very safe and its 100% safer than the best neighborhoods in Nigeria. The problem in Chicago is in couple neighborhoods on the South Side and West Side like Englewood, Back of the Yards and North Austin. You write your junks like you are an expert in Chicago where you only get your views from the Racist Right Wing Blogs that uses Chicago as their political tools. Chicago is a very prosperous and one of the best cosmopolitan cities in the world. |

Tdotbluejays:No, you don't get to select. I was mostly gunning my focus on the U.S. Canada and the U.K. might just catch stray bullets but that's it. I even gave the U.K. credit with the age of consent thing for going hard on defaulters and being tough on the law and requirements. This thread is about the U.S. The issues we discuss here are mostly about U.S. sociopolitics, not Canada's or Britain's. When you insult Nigerians resident in Nigeria here, it's mostly to defend the stance of the U.S. on some issues while downing Nigeria. Why are you jumping ship and selectively defined Canada alone, abandoning the U S. to get attacked by me? That's unfair. Be a loyal ally - all for one, one for all. That NATO brotherly shit. My attacks/focus has been and mostly been on the U.S. I see you didn't answer my question about some places in the U.S. being pro-cannibalism. |

Tdotbluejays:Not necessarily. There is only the illusion it worked because the whole countries wealth was spent on very few people in the cities while most Nigerians who lived in the villages and countrysides were completely abandoned without primary healthcare, schools or infrastructure. As more people moved to the cities to partake in the largesse, suddenly the wealth wasn't enough to go around. Our prime minister back then said our problem is not having money but how to spend it. |

Ibime:Hmm. I am not sure. Obafemi Awolowo University was built off cocoa wealth. Same as Cocoa house and many other industries scattered across the SW. Lagos was separate from the Western region and developed independently. I can't say much for other regions, but the west was doing fine. |

Tdotbluejays:Hundreds of universities have been built since. I'm sure back then, to go to university, you will be seen as King in your village, whereas now half the village is going to University. Naija was sweet according to the few city dwellers and educated elite back then. Most Nigerians were still dealing with mud huts, no roads and bush toilets then. What has degenerated though is security and lack of contentment |

benalvino3:I read somewhere that Indonesia obtained palm kernel seeds from Nigeria to establish Palk kernel plantations. They are now the number one exporter of PKO in the world. Indonesia now accounts for half of the world's supply. Nigeria’s palm oil industry represents a classic case of a lost glory in the country’s quest for economic development. The country, which was reputed to be the largest producer of palm oil and kernel worldwide in the pre-independence era was the envy of many nations in this regard. By this, it had attracted significant global attention to itself such that the multinational company, Lever Brothers had profited immensely from the industry and thereby became the toast of the then organised private sector in Nigeria. Along these lines also, investors from across the world, especially from Malaysia and Indonesia, came calling which led to their taking away oil palm seedlings to cultivate in their countries. https://m.guardian.ng/opinion/nigeria-and-palm-oil-import-shame/ |

PrideofLincoln1:See? That's the problem with you - you aren't discerning and lack emotional intelligence. Anyone who's frequented this thread would know the cyberwars or battles are stated by inflammatory statement or phrases like you us. Budaatum and Salford understand this and have kept it to the barest minimum to keep the conversation flowing. You can tell I can do peace and war perfectly. That isn't new. Choose your words more carefully when responding. Except, of course, it's a deliberate act to muddy the waters. Again, I care little about emotions in debates. I stay rational always. I already mentioned I barely read your posts and, until May, I never frequented this thread. I have always assumed you reside in Chicago and you've never corrected that even so I went with it. You also keep mentioning Chicago as against Chicagoland. Your personal itinerary is of no concern to me. The CNN or NYT North Korea experts who reports on N.K. issue don't even live in North Korea but their research is valid still. So that's that about living in Chicago. There are 209 countries in the world. You are mostly stuck in one but you have opinions about other countries and cultures you'd probably never visit. See the logic? Flawed yours. Chicago, St. Louis and Baltimore have some of the highest murder rates in the U..S and in the world. Higher murder rates than any Nigerian city. See, I do this almost every week with my own Facebook account, debating on platforms like The Economist or the BBC with even African Americans or non-blacks so these evidence are always filed away for easy retrieval. https://www.statista.com/statistics/243797/ranking-of-the-most-dangerous-cities-in-the-world-by-murder-rate-per-capita/ https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cities_by_murder_rate Facts only here. ![]() |

DissTroy:You believes that i live in Chicago while i have said here that i grew up in Uptown Chicago and moved to the suburban Oak Park over twenty years ago. The bottomline is that Chicago crime is limited to few neighborhoods and Chicago is a very prosperous and enterprising city that you know nothing about. Compare the population of Greater Chicago which is about 10 million people to other cities in America and see the difference. Bottomline is that i will rather live in Chicago than wherever you live in Nigeria and that's a fact. |

budaatum:Lol, it's an established fact. People voted a man who was a dictator and got into power through coup and you supported it. I am not without fault. I still think Nigerians problem started when abacha died. Abacha was an unelected dictator as well but he was keeping the thieves at bay. If we have one thief it will be better instead of changing thieves every 4 or 8 years at fed level and local level. When he died, the first thing the thieves did was to put guns in the hands of idiots. The country quickly became unsafe. |
