It should be done in a way that more powers should be devolved to the states instead of the power being focused at the centre. The centre is just too powerful with a strong grip and controlling nearly all the resources of the country.

I think if England, France and Germany are one country, there won't be peace for long and prosperity would also be slow. If these 3 can't unite, I don't see why Nigeria's regions should be forced together as one.

You do not expect lagos with 20 million people not to have more murders than Ekiti that's sparsely populated and that's the case with Chicago and other big cities in America. Couple of neighborhoods in chicago have more people living in them than Alaska and what's the purpose of comparing the crime rate in a sparsely populated places where they have more sheeps than people to chicago where we have residential building that are 90+ storey with many hundreds if not thousands of condominiums in their. Use Google Earth and compare what you see about Chicago to the other smaller cities or States and see that there are more crimes where the population is larger thsn small cities. I live in Oak Park and there are years that we do not have 3 murders in a year and my Oak Park is just outside of Chicago.

My own local government was bagging more than the entire state now bags, and we have nothing to show for it in my local government, but that wasn't our problem. Our problem was us, the citizens, who had little understanding of our responsibility in choosing our leaders. The next election is likely to be between Atiku and Tinubu or their proxies, and in my own opinion, I'd rather elect drumptf to rule us than either of them, though I'm certain he'd be just as bad since our problem is not so much the leadership but the lame institutions we have that can't keep us in check. It's why I spend a lot of time in this thread. My hope is that by understanding USA whose political system we have adopted, we'd learn how presidential democracy works and use the knowledge we acquire to fix our own institutions.

Many Ekiti residents would opt for moving to Lagos. That decision doesn't negate the fact that being resident in Lagos comes with some of its antecedent problems like traffic jams, more insecurity, higher cost of living and less nicer people. But from an economic perspective, migrating to Lagos is a good choice in most cases.

Take a Nigerian city and Chicago then juxtapose the analogy above.

Naira is strong when our main product is selling for a high price, and drops as the price of crude oil drops, which is what happened when Buhari assumed power. And if you know how exchange rates are determined, you'd understand you can't keep shipping Nigeria's wealth abroad without the exchange rate going up eventually. Those you are shipping it to would give you a discount while you keep shipping your money to them, and they'll charge you more when you want it to flow back.

I posted evidence of some Western countries leading the charts for rape rates in the world. Instead of you to debate that, you showed bias and hatred for Nigeria by questioning why Nigeria isn't topping the charts.

I'm sure you realise the Naira is propped up by the oil price, earning foreign exchange to defend the Naira. Sanusi spent trillions defending the Naira i.e. literally spending billions of dollars to buy the Naira to prop the price up. That was always going to end when oil price dropped.

GEJ had more earnings in one tenure than the previous 20 years put together and wasted it, even burning through (along with Yaradua) almost all of the $37bln excess crude account that OBJ had saved up. Buhari would have done well infrastructure wise during the oil glut of the GEJ era. Funny you mention Abacha - Buhari was the director of the PTF that built most of the infrastructure in Abacha time, including all our desks, buildings, school buses etc in Federal Govt schools. PTF also completed 144,000 km of road. Buhari is also the Petroleum minister that built all our refineries.

When money is there, Buhari is good as an administrator of projects without swallowing the money like GEJ did. He had badluck entering when oil market collapsed.
