Farmer will soon be recruited by Buhari. Indeed, buying guns and bullet in Borno is same as buying bread and akara

A very welcomed development in Borno. More governors/states should emulate until NASS pull dey heads out of dem bleep and write new laws for creating a state police force.

It's shame that this happening in a country where huge money is budgeted for security yearly.. We even borrowed billions to buy ammunitions not long ago...
Bubu and his Co traveller's have really destroyed Nigeria...
Will this hunters wait to face Ak47 and the likes when boko boys come

Sheybi they're scared of state policing, advantage of it is what they're seeing too, the earlier Nigerians generally begin thinking well the best it will be for the nation

Asgard73:
This the very government Yoruba packaged and sold to Nigerians

Today hunters are protecting farmers.. while our military is busy burning houses and killing unarmed civilians ..

Maybe Apc should disarm Nigeria military and replace them with hunters ... they have obviously become useless to Nigeria.

How did Yoruba package it ? And who do they sold it to ? Is it Hausa, Igbo or who ? Cos I am very sure the people from the yeast never voted for him , while the North bites for their own, so he did Yoruba package it ? At times u don't have to talk just for talking say, but for educating people

Apc is evil

This is more like a state police the state governors have been clamoring for.

Decentralize the police and let the state governors take charge of the security in their states. Let us know which state government is functioning and which one is lacking in function.

The FG police have been compromised into receiving bribes and sewing and waybilling cloths and caps.
And more importantly such volunteers are often recruited into the Army in appreciation of their efforts and when such happens the ethnic imbalance in the recruitment of security operatives in the country deepens.

Give them better guns not that stick angry
Did you see the photos or you were deceived by the word ‘hunter’??

These people are not hunters. They are a group of young men recruited and well armed. Look at the their weapons. They have been armed with shotguns. Look at their gears. Most of them look very comfortable holding their weapons and I think majority would’ve come from the civilian JTF.

It’s all in the language and terminology. Northerners are smart. This is not different from Amotekun but any other name would attract lots of criticisms.

I think they should extend the security and protection to schools otherwise this initiative would be suspicious and bias.

I hope the presidency will be bold enough to declare this good move illegal?

I remember gov Ortom once set up a team to protect his farmers from herdsmen but was declared illegal and were disbanded

No, more like armed vigilante group

For state police, you need better weapons, better vehicles, a lot more equipemnt, forensic labs, etc, etc....and all that costs money.
