Nigerian government have totally given up on building Nigeria to private companies.

Even NIN registration, why then do we have a government?
The role of government is to provide an enabling environment for business to thrive. Hence, creating avenues for companies to make money - taking care of the NIN registration, providing infrastructure, etc is the primary role of government. Government is and should not be running or managing business nor running a business. Government, anywhere in the world cannot run businesses effectively, running a business by government breeds corruption and that is what is happening in Nigeria.

Another tax evasion + corruption opportunity. Let's assume:
Actual costs to fix road = 3 billion
MTN declares costs as = 16 billion

Corrupt govt officials get kickbacks of = 4 billion
MTN gets tax credit profit of = 9 billion

Business continues...
the masses = good road.
What has all the tax MTN and other companies been paying done for you?
They should fix the abeg. My worry is that as usual, this evil government will tell mtn to fix another road in another region instead of this one here.

Good strategy, they should do quality roads, not those village grade footpaths they do in south Africa.

Actually, it does not work that way. The contract will be awarded by FEC after passing through all laid down procurement processes including getting a "certificate of no objection" from BPP. MTN will fund the project based on the contract sum approved by FEC and the project will be supervised and certified by engineers from Federal Ministry of Works. So, the contract sum will be determined by the procurement system and not MTN.

Exactly the same way they asked Julius Berger to construct another brideg instead of the Second Niger Bridge. Smh.
