The Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, has submitted that Nigeria is in a bad place.

The monarch stated this on Thursday, while speaking during the opening ceremony of a summit in Gombe State, organised by the Da’awah Coordination Council of Nigeria (DCCN).

He advised Governors to ensure there is adequate supply of food, as food shortage looms.
According to the Sultan, scarcity of food will increase insecurity in Nigeria.

“I will like to call on governors to ensure they make adequate supply of food in store for the common man in anticipation of possible shortage of food in the world. And at the right time, subsidise it so that the common man can afford.

“This is because a hungry man is an angry man. Without food, there will be no peace and without peace, there will be no security,” he said.
The traditional ruler, commenting on the security situation in the country, said: “Let us not deceive ourselves that things are right. Things are not right, we know it and we have seen so much in our lives.
“It doesn’t take anybody a lot to know that Nigeria is in a very bad situation and it is a fact.”

The truth is DIRECTLY staring in our faces, yet some mentally unstable people from Zone B will keep on defending an already failed government. I never thought we had so much SENSELESS people in Nigeria, until Buhari's supporters came up. BUHARI FAILED. His economic policies failed. Heaven and earth have even confirmed this. Statistical data confirmed this. You can't point out ONE aspect that Nigeria is doing well economically. I don't have to belong to PDP to criticize APC. 2023 is around the corner, ask yourself: What have we gained from buhari? If buhari had left Nigeria how he met it, i won't even complain, rather he made things WORSE. We mainly relied on him to improve security, but he failed in this aspect, what aspect do you now expect him to improve? All the ex-BMC that admitted they were wrong, even on NLand; we didn't kill them. If you look at Nigeria's future, you'll know it might take decades before we'll correct Buhari's mistakes.

The sultan and people who think like him are Nigeria's problem. Instead of talking about what the governors can do to maintain the continual production of food to meet food supply - a human labour intensive task, he is asking them to provide food directly. Are the governors running farms or government at state level?

Democracy has been bastardized in this country. It's no longer a government for the people. In Nigeria especially, it is for the elite. The people in power use it mainly for themselves. So long as they can afford any food of their choice, they don't remember the poor whom they claim to be representing. Prices of everything have been soaring and they haven't even considered what must be done to remedy it to enable the poor to at least afford food to eat.

I pray power will come back to the masses soon, so we can thoroughly sanitize this our one-sided society. And wipe out these unscrupulous so-called leaders.

The north is d problem of this country. They re nothing but leach and holding back d southern Nigeria development. I wonder why a man who have nothing doing would just give birth to multitude of children they can't take care of. Haba!
It is this same children that lacks proper care and training that have turned into the terrorists terrorising the once peaceful nation called Nigeria.
Or is it the issue of herdsmen? Why won't there be food shortage when they are around d farm causing nusciance to farmers. Today, the beans which poor family can easily afford has turn to luxury food. Sultan of Sokoto is here blabbering when he knows the north is the problem of its self. This country is doom and only God can savage the situation. We move!

And the citizens re not really doing a great job. Looking inward, we caused almost every thing thats happening to us. The politicians have no say in what we can determine and the powers that we the citizens have to make them do the right thing. From legal, to security.

Nigeria is gone. Buhari and his deranged cohorts have destroyed little honour remain for this country. I wonder how these BMCs will still continue to hold unto false hope that things will be better under this hopeless man. I think they are all blind to see or maybe their suffering is in autopilot.

Yes, you are right Sir. There's truly shortage of food Nationwide.

But why won't it be so when Fulani herdsmen has taken over our farm?
Why won't it be so when our people are afraid of going to their farms because anytime they do, many of them always meet untimely death in the hand of those Fulani miscreants.

You should not advise governors to start dishing out food to people, you should rather advise our leaders to tighten the loosen nuts on our security affairs, we never had it this bad since this country was almagmated by Lugard.
