I think they're good for personal skills development but I don't think they really worth much in the Nigerian job market

That's a wrong notion I have an online Business Development Certification and it's helpful when closing some deals.

I know that Open University certificate (assuming it falls under that category) is well recognised though that depends on the organisation.

MBA and some professional qualifications done online are also good.

Beware of unrecognised institutions dishing out fake certificates for a fee. They hide under online degrees to churn out fake graduates. The Federal Ministry of Education does verification and accreditation of institutions both locally and through the equivalent offices abroad.

It is very relevant as long as you can defend the cert when the opportunity arises. But just get the online certificate(s) you may leave this country one day o....

It depends on the organisation and that said it also depends on what you studied and it's applicability to your new role.

Paper certification is worthless unless the knowledge learnt is fully utilized and applied.

This is the same issue I'm facing, I have an intension to also go into one of these online courses so maybe I'll get a good and a better job but I don't really know if it will be accepted. Just wanna weast those years and data for nothing.

Go learn a craft a trade or farming.

Even though the paper wold is telling us its overbooked. We still pressing. It's not the beaurucratic formal paper world that is the problems, it's the mind accepting it as the only part to meaningfull socio economic life or gains.

Its very relivant.
