The exit of Lionel Messi from FC Barcelona is still a shock to most fans. In their defense, the Catalan giants has stated that "financial and structural obstacles" prevented the Argentine from continuing with them.

Earlier today, Messi went live in a Press conference and confirmed the exit, crying as he did so. He said -

"This year, my family and myself were convinced that we were going to stay in our home. That was what we wanted the most but unfortunately, today I am here to say goodbye after many years, my whole life here. I was only 13 years old when I arrived here."

Unfortunately, the Argentine wizard will no longer be playing for La Blaugrana in the foreseeable future due to circumstances beyond him, FC Barcelona and La Liga.

There's been concerns in some corners, with some fans suggesting why the six (6) times Balon D'Or winner couldn't play free for a single season. According to them, it would have been enough time for Barca to have weathered it's financial storm.
