DissTroy:
High carbon emissions does affect the ozone layer. Ozone is actually an isotope of oxygen. Before it gets to where the ozone layer is, most of the emitted substance would have dissipated or been absolved. The ozone later is several kilometers above.

Let's just say Ozone is ice and oxygen is cool water. Both are cool but cool water would heat up quicker and the emissions sort of break the ice up.
The ocean even plays more roles in cooking the earth than the ozone layer.

But cool water or warm water - the earth would eventually heat up then cool down. We are arrogant pricks for thinking we can stop the process or alter it.
That's not true DissTroy, carbon dioxide is too heavy to float up to the ozone layer. CfC gas.

Ozone does not cause global warming and global warming does not cause ozone depletion like I explained earlier.

This applies to budaatum and Goodvibes007 as well.

It is amusing that you who infers that "maths is racist" from a book about racism in maths instruction, can not infer how "UV ray A and uv ray B" affects the climate from the following, but I guess it is to be expected from someone who selectively infers to suit his narrative.

I'll let diss educate you on how plants affect climate change, since he proposes "Planting more trees". Hopefully, you'll make the connection with "photosynthesis in plants and algae, particularly phytoplankton which produce roughly half of the oxygen in the atmosphere".
I am not sure you understand your own arguments

Goodvibes007:
Children’s hospitals are getting overwhelmed:

“Something very scary now is happening in the SOUTHERN UNITED STATE. We are seeing this massive surge of hospitalizations of young people that we’ve never seen before in hospitals across the South,” said Dr. Peter Hotez, dean of the National School of Tropical Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine, TEXAS.

“It’s many, many young people, including, I’m sorry to say, many children’s hospital admissions. And for the first time that I can remember, we’re starting to see pediatric intensive care units get overwhelmed, which we never really saw before.”

As of Tuesday, an average of 192 children with Covid-19 were admitted to US hospitals every day over the past week, CDC data shows.

That’s a 45.7% increase from the previous week in daily new hospitalizations among Covid-19 patients ages 0 to 17.

In the MIAMI area, “our children’s hospitals are completely overwhelmed,” said Dr. Aileen Marty, an infectious disease expert at Florida International University.

“Our pediatricians, the nursing, the staff are exhausted. And the children are suffering,” Marty said.

“It is absolutely devastating … We’ve never seen numbers like this before.”

With more than 164 million Americans fully vaccinated, tens of thousands might get Covid-19 later on, Walensky said.

Even though there’s no coronavirus in any of the vaccines used in the US, breakthrough infections are expected — like with other vaccines.

Those who do get breakthrough infections generally have mild or no symptoms. As of late July, more than 99.99% of fully vaccinated Americans have NOT had a Covid-19 infection leading to hospitalization, according to CDC data.

The tiny fraction of breakthrough infections that do lead to hospitalization can include those who are immunocompromised or elderly.

Those two groups may be among the first to get an additional dose of vaccine, said Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.

Because the Covid-19 vaccines require an immune response to work, those who are immunocompromised or taking immune-suppressing drugs might not get adequate protection with a vaccine.

“We will almost certainly be boosting those people before we boost the general population that’s been vaccinated,” Fauci said Sunday. “And we should be doing that reasonably soon, I believe.”

He said the next group that may need boosters sooner than the general population are those over age 60. Fauci said the CDC is studying different age groups to see how long vaccines may stay effective.

In Texas, Ava Amira Rivera — an 11-month-old Covid-19 patient — had to be airlifted to a hospital 150 miles away because of a shortage of pediatric beds in the Houston area.

None of the major pediatric hospitals in the area had beds available, said Amanda Callaway, a spokeswoman for Harris Health System.

The baby’s condition has since stabilized, and she is no longer intubated.
This is scary. If this thing starts to touch children people go mad. May God protect our kids.

Read all my posts - never did I claim ozone depletion is responsible for global warming. Instead I argued against the postulation, stating that in spite of an intact ozone layer, global warming would happen and has been happening. Humans and our effects on global warming are relatively miniscule.

Ozone (O3) depletion over thousands of years contributes in a TINY PART to global warming. Tree planting would make our living areas cooler though because the released O2 is actually cold. Oxygen gas is a cold substance. Basic chemistry.

Global warming and global freezing are periodical. There was an ice age before the last ice age. There was a global warming before the last ice age and then now. Each period is said to span 100,000 years.

Man (erm, homo sapiens) has been around for about 70,000 years and we didn't witness the last Ice Age or global warming.

30,000 years from now if humans still remain humans, our descendants would be battling with global freezing.

When you say high carbon emissions you did not specify which of the carbon. CFC is the one which is problematic and humans don't produce them anymore.

What you replied to was me saying the holes ozone layer does not affect the earth to cause global warming instead it cause cancer. The link you provided supported my point. The only place they claim holes occurred in the entire earth was at the poles and the ices did not melt.

Again there are less ozone at the poles or more ozone depletion at the poles because of lack of sun light which help creates the chemical bonding they gives us the ozone layer. DissTroy you need to look into this too.

Research du Pont how they have freon for refrigerators and ac and other spray. Because they are going to lose their patent, this whole ozone hole hysteria started, and in Canada they ban all the product with that particular formula to create freon but after they did that du Pont released entirely new products with patent for higher price. All these happened at once grin

Today if they talk about climate change no one mentions ozone layer.

Also, all those gas from freons they say deplete the ozone layers managed to all travel to the north poles. Ask yourself those questions
Spot on.
The ozone fuzzylogic fizzled out
There was global cooling, then global warming When that did not happen it became climate change.

Freon. Id forgotten about how every fridge is atmosphere friendly.

The one that kills me is cow farts adding methane So we should avoid beef and do its synthetic substitute.

True. This much is known. But to what extent? That extent is exaggerate. Mitigation hasn't and wouldn't stop global warming.

We overestimate our importance in the grand scheme of things.
Ozone itself is formed naturally when the sun's UV light reacts with atmospheric oxygen. The ozone layer is self-healing. It takes time but it heals on its own.

...With or without us.

The socalled hole or depletion only happen at the polls which does not make sense because ozone needs sunlight to bond 3 molecules of oxygen together and the poles during winter don't get sunlight for 6months which makes sense.

I didn't need to - carbon emmisions cover CFC, CH4, CO2, CO... There are several. To make it easier for fluid conversations, the general term has always been "carbon emissions".

But we agree on the point that it has been blown out of proportion and global warming is a political weapon.

The U.K. and U.S. talk shit about carbon emissions to hold down competitors like China , India and Russia, and to purify its living areas but it still has gigantic fossil fuel interests all over the world which are active.

That's like claiming a river flows regardless of human activity, but I'm sure you'd blame me if I divert it's flow on to your land.

Human mitigation includes reducing the human activity that negatively affects the climate, and if we cut down all the trees, or just dump our waste into the ocean, we'd soon know our true "importance in the grand scheme of things".

Let me give you an analogy which you can relate to:

Both of us are in a covered football stadium like Real Madrid's then we fart. Have we fouled the air? Yes. To what extent? Very minute.
We'd need to fart constantly close to 3000 times each for the place to completely stink.

Let's imagine there's one large air conditioner. We'd need to fart constantly tens of thousands of times for us to overwhelm the purifying effect of that large AC and the stadium stinking.

Juxtapose the following in the analogy:

1. You and I: Machines and other things which emit carbon.

2. Stadium : Earth

3. Large AC: Ozone layer

4. Our fart: Carbon emissions

5. Number of times we fart: Thousands do years.

Remember, like the AC, the ozone layer heals itself and doesn't stop functioning regardless of our farts (carbon emissions).

Get it now?

Na, it does not work that way. You have to be specific. Almost no one emits cfc today. Cfc are banned but don't expect China to comply grin

No one in the west of Africa emits Cfc not chelase football club o? So just saying emission without being specific will cause confusion.

I grew up watching Lagos coastline getting eroded. In past years, it takes like 45minutes to walk from the edge of the road where you have the blue plaza to the shore line. Nowadays, the shoreline is just by the road.
Cause: Global warming plus human activities (Eko Atlantic)

There is a huge element of control of big oil by corporate raiders. There is plenty of exaggerations too. For instance China and India are using fossil fuels to generate power.
Fracking is hated by political activists who have their reasons EG Russia and Saudi would be happy if fracking was abolished, they support the activists financially.
Hunan activity yes leads to desertification by lumbering activities, which we are then told that its burning fuels that causes warming and desertification.
Just my two cents.
Sometimes I posit that the whole global warming shenanigans are just cocck and bull stories.
Ted Cruz grilled this GW Sierra Club ( who funds them?) advocate who was clearly not in the know.
