a good partner you say, have we ever been disgraced and shamed as a nation while trying to buy arms and equipment from Russia or China, with the USA we usually make headlines and always for the wrong reasons, the Tucano deal comes to mind, 6 years of begging and insults even with our money

International politics is not done with sentiments. If you don't want insults, build your own shipbuilding / defence industry.

Wow, NA and MNJTF offensive might not be like some expected here... But the result it has yielded is tremendous...
Atleast this development has vindicated the military... Not the garri and kulikli report that they are only defending and not attacking.

Lasting peace in southern and central Borno would be a huge achievement if this wave of defections is sustained. The intelligence community would be overwhelmed with HUMINT I'm sure, enemy positions like strategic depots, logistics routes, HVT locations etc intelligence in unprecedented forensic detail

This is definitely not a good time for ISWAP, which is facing an increasing disquiet in Sambisa from remnant JAS fighters. Sources say it suffered an embarrassing defeat on 6 August when it attacked the Bakura Doro and Bakura Sa’alaba-led JAS location on the Lake Chad islands.

Relying on its expertise in bomb making,JAS deployed IEDs to destroy most of ISWAP’s vehicles, forcing it to retreat. This is coming on the heels of the massive disengagement of people associated with JAS in Sambisa and ongoing military ops.

While the military ramps up its pressure on ISWAP, this should be extended to the Lake Chad islands close to Niger, which is the current JAS’s hideout. This is where air raids are important, given the unfavourable terrain for ground troops.

See this silly guy, just jumping to conclusions up and down, lol, random person, in my world, you are irrelevant, hey give the man some pako to chew on, that's a thing too no? no shoes, with pako in his mouth, now that's a pic to frame.
You seem pained, I'm typing in English, as do you, yet I'm a Western worshipper? See how daft you are. I was born and raised in that same Nigeria, but i won't curse you in Yoruba, no point.
Kid, you got my attention for 2 mins, i don't do groupies and ain't got no social media you can follow, now kindly fvk off and have yourself a wonderful drug free day.

I guess having our kids running around butt naked is also cultural?, get the fvk outta here boy. Up your standards, perhaps we might actually get a little bit of respect around the world, decency matters, and we can practice our believes in a more dignifying ways, there are a million ways we can preserve our cultures without doing things so low level., a governor during an official visit is without shoes, while meeting with a victim of terrorism, and you are telling me that's okay, well it's not. Look at a picture of Buhari in his residence also without shoes, pictures like that shouldn't get out or ever taken.
There is another culture out there on the continent where young boys consume semen of Adult men, which is like their own right of passage from being to boy and becoming men, is that also another culture we should respect, or is that not some disgusting sh!t.
Bottom line, let's evolve how we do things while preserving our cultures, both can coexist, or get stuck in the stone age, all good
But hey, my 2 cents, my bad if that hurt your precious feelings. Indigenous culture, really? . my bad
Bye now.

What's the alternative though?, once they've laid down their weapons, we can either reform them or jail them, that's sadly all we can do. their leaders in cases like this are the priority, those can be hanged grin.
And ppl like these should be placed on life time parole, they as much as jaywalk, they go to jail, but we hardly have the infrastructure in place for such monitoring

Anambra Police Operatives on Monday repelled attack on Nnewi Police Area Command on the Okigwe road area of Umudim, Nnewi, Anambra State.

Gunmen on Monday reportedly attacked Nnewi Police Area Command, Anambra State, carting away some arms.

The incident, which witnessed heavy shootings between the gunmen and Police, caused pandemonium amongst residents of the industrial city.

The Nation gathered the gunmen, who stormed the area around noon with seven vehicles, engaged the Police in a gun duel that last for one hour.

An eyewitness, who spoke in confidence, said the gunmen overpowered the police and carted away with their arms.

He however said no casualty was recorded in the incident.

“Even though reinforcement from the Navy arrived the scene shortly after, the gunmen had left before their arrival. Efforts to pursue them were unsuccessful,” he added.

Police spokesperson, Tochukwu Ikenga said he was yet to receive the report.

What respect are you talking about? We want the world to respect us for our development (which we have not done greatly) rather than for wearing shoes or following EVERY western standards that you think is ideal for humans. So much fuss over someone not wearing shoes. In case you don't know, eating meat and eggs is also very barbaric if viewed from the point of view of other cultures. Go and impeach them if you are that offended.

Exactly.
No not exactly... Egypt is a globally recognized force in terms of how equipped its armed forces is. Egypt has helicopter carriers and landing ships that will make even super powers jealous. So if Egypt received second hand ships and you that only have canoes and small generator powered roller boats received second hand ship its much different.

The US has changed your entire naval capacity by giving you an ocean going vehicle bringing you a little bit closer to the status of a blue navy. While Egypt has always had a blue navy due to its need to defends its interest in the Mediterranean and around the Suez.

We have our own "blue" interests here in the gulf of Guinea but how well are they secured. What is the pirate situation in the gulf?

Yes, that is how warfare works. You surrender to superior power not an ineffective and insecure escuse for a defense force.

President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered Nigerian military to subdue perpetrators of the ongoing massacre in Plateau.

Despite heavy troops’ presence in the state, scores of indigenes have been murdered in recent weeks.

The marauders attack in broad daylight, steal, kill, rape and destroy farmlands.

Communities in Riyom and Bassa Local Government Areas are worst hit.

In one of the invasions, on July 31, 5 locals died and 85 buildings set on fire at Jebbu Miango.

The Army scrambled a rebuttal after some natives declared that Maj.-Gen. Ibrahim Ali, the General Officer Commanding 3 Division in Rukuba, was on an “evil mission”.

Ali, Commander of the Special Task Force, Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), was accused of acting on an “order” to wipe out the Miango chiefdom.

DAILY POST gathered that the President approved a special operation after a comprehensive security report by the National Security Adviser’s office.

General Ali conveyed the directive on Monday while addressing the troops deployed in Tangoron community of Riyom LGA.

“The Commander-in-Chief, President Muhammadu Buhari has asked us to gun down anybody seen carrying illegal weapon and we must carry out the order.

“Those people must be criminals. You have to go into the bush and clear them wherever they are hiding”, he said.

Ali further disclosed that the time frame for the operation is ten days.

The GOC visited some areas in Miango and Biyei attacked by the killers.

Source: https://dailypost.ng/2021/08/10/plateau-massacre-buhari-orders-military-to-kill-illegal-weapon-holders/

If the Indigenes decide to carry arms, the Nigerian army will attack them with full force but will fail to defend them when Fulanis are unleashing hell on them.
