President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered Nigerian military to subdue perpetrators of the ongoing massacre in Plateau.

Despite heavy troops’ presence in the state, scores of indigenes have been murdered in recent weeks.

The marauders attack in broad daylight, steal, kill, rape and destroy farmlands.

Communities in Riyom and Bassa Local Government Areas are worst hit.

In one of the invasions, on July 31, 5 locals died and 85 buildings set on fire at Jebbu Miango.

The Army scrambled a rebuttal after some natives declared that Maj.-Gen. Ibrahim Ali, the General Officer Commanding 3 Division in Rukuba, was on an “evil mission”.

Ali, Commander of the Special Task Force, Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), was accused of acting on an “order” to wipe out the Miango chiefdom.

DAILY POST gathered that the President approved a special operation after a comprehensive security report by the National Security Adviser’s office.

General Ali conveyed the directive on Monday while addressing the troops deployed in Tangoron community of Riyom LGA.

“The Commander-in-Chief, President Muhammadu Buhari has asked us to gun down anybody seen carrying illegal weapon and we must carry out the order.

“Those people must be criminals. You have to go into the bush and clear them wherever they are hiding”, he said.

Ali further disclosed that the time frame for the operation is ten days.

The GOC visited some areas in Miango and Biyei attacked by the killers.

The interpretation of this message by all security formations is "kill whoever is trying to retaliate or stop this onslaught been perpetuated by my kinsmen".

What baffles me is that, has the number of other tribesmen so decimated at the upper echelons the Nigerian armed forces and Police, that everyone of them stands akimbo and watch this carnage happen in their states? By illegal weapons holders he is referring to indigenous peoples who are trying to resort to self help in self-defence just to stay alive.
Illegal weapons by this categorization also includes stones and catapults.
Just so we are clear, the federal government earlier this year clarified that those legally authorised to bear arms are the security agencies and Fulani herdsmen whose peculiar occupation of wandering in dangerous terrains justifies their bearing of arms.
"Dangerous" here includes wild jungle animals or uncooperative indigenes whose lands they intend to grab.
Oh, and to add, survivors of Fulani herdsmen attacks in plateau, Benue, Taraba, Kaduna and Oyo say there is a dedicated army response team strictly made up of Fulani officers and men who provide much needed backup to the Fulani militia when they encounter any armed resistance from the host communities.
So, Buhari is putting y'all on notice. In as much as carry a stone to defend yourself, the response team will come after you.

They will be looking for the locals defending themselves instead of going for the real killers (which they know).
The real agenda of this government is not clear yet, to take over all the middle belt land for the Fulani ? they are doing it in Benue, Plateau and each time the Government pretends it does not know who is doing it, yet attack the Locals defending themselves to protect the perpetrators.

Who gives you right to hold a gun and fight terrorists when you aren't a military personnel, a vigilantee or a licensed gun holder.
If you even do such, when you hear about this news, then you put away your weapons because the government has taken control.
