Let me give you an analogy which you can relate to:

Both of us are in a covered football stadium like Real Madrid's then we fart. Have we fouled the air? Yes. To what extent? Very minute.
We'd need to fart constantly close to 3000 times each for the place to completely stink.

Let's imagine there's one large air conditioner. We'd need to fart constantly tens of thousands of times for us to overwhelm the purifying effect of that large AC and the stadium stinking.

Juxtapose the following in the analogy:

1. You and I: Machines and other things which emit carbon.

2. Stadium : Earth

3. Large AC: Ozone layer

4. Our fart: Carbon emissions

5. Number of times we fart: Thousands do years.

Remember, like the AC, the ozone layer heals itself and doesn't stop functioning regardless of our farts (carbon emissions).

I kind of feel if every one farts in this stadium of your's we'd all be holding our noses, after all, it's not as if there is any claim that only two of us are warming the globe with our farts.

As I said, if we all fart in a stadium our noses might experience some irritation at some point, and if we keep on farting that irritation and is bound to increase.

I for one know that the next time you invite me to that stadium where everyone farts, I'd apologise and give it a miss thank you very much, and I'd even not mind if you claim its because I am arrogant.

Sorry diss, I just do not see us as "miniscule in the scheme of thing" as you seem to think you are. If this were the religious section, I'd go as far as claiming I look at diss and I see god. The lens that I see through makes you seem much bigger and powerful to me, and I do wish I could lend it you so you too see what I see.

few pages back I argued how powerful we can be to make a difference in Nigerian polictics. No one agreed with me of course, but the same 'we are powerful' applies to our effect on the climate of earth, as far as I am concerned, but do know that I understand some are indeed miniscully powerless.

Well, we can't just leave the earth currently, can we? We are stuck in this stadium. The match never ends.

We are miniscule in the outcome of things. The way the earth works. We can't alter fixed physical laws like revolution or rotation, or move our planet out of its orbit to a slightly colder region of the solar system or stuff like that.
But we can do things like revegetation and be kind to each other and be thoughtful about what we do to the environment to make our finite human existence more livable and enjoyable.
I'd be dead and gone and the game would go on but I'd at least not come to your area to fart while I enjoy my less stinky axis and not try to clog the air conditioning system in the stadium.


Nigerian politics or the Nigerian fate is basically
our human experience which we have control of.
Whether everyone has enough to eat and stay healthy or most die of kwashiorkor and live in squalor have nothing to do with the earth eventually warming up or cooling down or rotation, or revolution.

We are just doing those to enjoy our finite human experience and existence.
