Why?? Do they have C of O for the lands they occupied illegally??

Even their destroyed shanties can't cost up to N20k.

I have long preached for the building of a this coastal road to ease of traffic from Lekki epe but I can see the Lagos govt is taking the wrong direction ...this coastal road should have started from The Abraham Adesanya Ogombo end of Lagos and hug the Atlantic coast to burst out at the water corporation end of Lagos instead of this approach that starts at VGC to burst out on tiny Freedom way inside Lekki Phase 1 ..this will put to much pressure on the limited trunk C roads inside the residential estate and cause mad traffic withing that estate

Clean up the city if you must, but provide affordable and suitable alternatives for people!

It's easier to sit in a glass house and look down on people.
That will encourage more people to migrate into Lagos and set up illegal shanties.

The state is overcrowded already.

You want land? You buy it. Land is not cheap.

You have got things mixed up. You are mixing up two separate roads.

The Coastal Road runs from the Water Corporation axis, past Abraham Adesanya and all the way to the Lekki Free Trade Zone. This is on the ocean side (beside the Atlantic Ocean).

The other road that you've got mixed up is the Regional Road. The Regional Road is different from the Coastal Road. The Regional Road is close to the Lagos Lagoon, while the Coastal Road is close to the Atlantic Ocean. It is the Regional Road that begins at VGC and ends at Freedom Way.

There are two separate roads.

Lawlessness is inherent in the DNA of most Nigerian especially Lagosians.I can believe Iganmu Bridge area, Obalende under bridge etc can be that spacious and clean until the task force cleared those areas.
then state turn them to motto pack

Good Point made. They will come all the way from the mud republic and desecrate Lagos with yam language and still insult us like Lagos owes them anything undecided undecided

You make so much noise for so little.

Lagos this, Lagos that. Do you have anything of tangible/reasonable effect you can proud yourself on as a noisemaker Lagosian? Instead of you to learn and earn you are parading the entire nairaland spewing trash with 20k second hand android phone.

Have you gone to those places mentioned? The people there are mostly Hausa people if not all of them.
I don't think you know anything about the area, you might just be one olodo sitting in a pako house in Makoko who finds pleasure in trolling online.

Majority are from other states and you have a large Hausa community. You also have businesses like motor mechanics who take up most of the space,

Sad for them but the main issue for the government is security. Most of the robbery and violence that takes place on that axis can be linked to residents of these shantytown and Pako houses.

Don't mind that poster. Their sort blame leaders for everything but they don't mind encouraging personal lawlessness and societally destructive conduct in ordinary Nigerians.

Lawd !!!! If you do not have enough knowledge on a topic to make a comment why not simply shut up instead of saying politically correct crap that is offensive to those living with the reality on the ground?

Every Lagosian knows that illegal squatting is now a big security, health and infrastructure challenge for the State.

Many now troop into Lagos, including even non-Nigerians, with nowhere to stay and no means of earning money legitimately, safe in the knowledge they can literally build a 'Pako' house anywhere unchallenged and 'hustle' for a living.

It has become a big challenge for Lagos only the naive and ignorant are unaware of.

Provide 'alternatives' for those who came to Lagos knowing they have nowhere to live and no means of making legitimate money?

Does that make sense? Even the Fulani herdsmen menace, because many are not indigenes of Nigeria, stems from the inability of Nigerians to take charge of their own borders and territorial integrity at State and national level.

What we have now is a situation of total lawlessness and unaccountability that is encouraging unidentified and unknown people to move across the entire Nigeria constituting menace to everyone and mainly indigenes.

Leaders at State and federal level must think outside the box to address the lawless movement of people, especially criminal-minded individuals, within Nigeria.

Thank you ojare. Governors of Nigerian States are getting away with monumental misrule yet their citizens feel it is their entitlement to go and be a burden and menace to already overburdened Lagos rather than demand good governance where they are coming from. Unsustainable madness.

I knew where you were heading to and you just confirmed it.
But my question is why are you guys so afraid of the northerner that if a Fulani herdsman kill your people you’ll want to vent your anger on Igbo?

And your fellow earlier said that the place was dominated by mechanics and bike riders, me and you know the tribes that dominate those trades, but you choose to vent on Igbo.
Make hate sha no kill you o

I am not being political in my thoughts.

I'll just respond to you in a simple way.

What breeds crime in every society is the failure of the government to provide infrastructural and welfare needs; and in addition to that, the government of Lagos has been breeding and nurturing hoodlums and thugs who come in handy during elections.

The government creates the reason for abuse and lawlessness in the first place, and eventually turn around to victimize those who are co beneficiaries of that.

What the Nigerian government keeps doing is make life very difficult for it's citizens but they expect them not to turn to crime.

Analysis should be deep thinking; not scratching the surface.

Go and watch the Makoko people documentary and see the angle I am coming from.
