The box beam is a decorative beam solely for aesthetics. It comes in variety of styles (wood, fibreglass, wpc, steel etc).

It’s best used in spaces where the design won’t compromise headroom. So a very high headroom is required.

Pic - Here’s something classic, cheap and simple (exposed beam) BUT it’s not an easy install cos you’d do most work during roof framing.

I love something that classic, something different from everybody’s norms because it seems POP (plaster board and co) is the new definition of luxury finishing in homes now and I believe it “might” be obsolete in few years time with the emergence of new designs.

Gypsum Board is the norm in the USA.

I specifically chose POP because even homes costing tens of millions of dollars use Gypsum Board.

In 2019, I learnt a new word from the Global Leadership Summit, a world-class leadership conference hosted by Willow Creek Association, United States.

The word is coined from the phrase “Good Enough To Move On” - GETMO

GETMO is a valuation of resources required on a project compared to the return on the investment of those resources.

When we work on a project, it’s so easy to throw more time, more money, or more resources and concentration at it because naturally investing more would naturally bring in more returns.
However, at some point, investing more will reach a cap limit and your curve would start to level off or even drop.

That’s the point you need to GETMO.

Every project manager needs to find that sweet spot where you get the greatest level of return for the investment you make in time, money, and resources.

So I always aim for that level where I can get maximum impact for a sustainable amount of investment, hit the target and move on.

If the experience you garner is civil engineering related.. Why not. But you will still need a civil engineer to endorse you.

yes, it looks nice and its same material as old ceilings

All the AC condensate pipes in the slabs were insulated in line with insulation requirements HVACR condensate drains

When prices rise, low and middle-class families pay. Wealthy families profit.
This is currently happening in Nigeria without damning the consequences.

The powerful players are hiking prices of commodities to maximize their profit and as a result household incomes are transferred from the poor and middle class to the wealthy.

If I may ask, what exactly is the reason for the increase in the price of cement in Nigeria?

I live just few minutes away from one of the oldest plants in the country. I can debunk all myths in split second.
It’s not like they increase workers wage, bought new equipments, or ran out of raw materials.

It’s pretty easy for the big players in Nigeria to set monopolistic pricing that takes a bite out of every income group’s share of our national income in a bid to survive takeover by AMCON, with the exception of the top 10%, whose incomes rise.

Baba you won’t understand because you fall among the TOP 10% whose income rise or you may understand and just say “What shall we say unto the Lord?” because you did nothing wrong and you’re just lucky like every other top 10% who are a beneficiary of the wealth transfer.

Sashhh!!!! I’m only a consultant on that project and my job is to make things work.
I’ve seen many people play this role and the only thing they knew is to find fault.

Your client, my friend and a brother is 100% the opposite of my client that I shared his story few days ago.
