When Hitler captured Maikop for oil & met nothing it was a lost battle for him despite conquering the town.

The Korea War objective for US was to replace Pyongyang with Seoul. Failed.

Cuba objective was to oust Castro. Failed.

Gulf War was to take over Iran oil. Failed.

Vietnam war was to annihilate the Viet Kong. Monumental failure.
