Bold of you to assume this irresponsible government will reinject the excess funds into the economy. You’re holding this government to an astronomical standard.

So the goverment should continue spending money on fraudulent subsidy?

So thay we can continue to get into more debt?

The average Nigerian doesn’t own a car, so we have been subsidising the rich at the expense of the poor who are denied well needed investment in things like education, healthcare and infrastructure.

It will be hard in the short term but the populace would start to see the many benefits in the medium to long term. We are wasting too much scare resources for on this subsidy and there is too much corruption involved with smuggling of our PMS to neighbouring countries where PMS is sold at higher prices.
Bro let me ask you, is it only car that uses fuel? How about Okada(T.F will increase), keke(T.F will increase), Salon(price will increase). Bro the effect is not gonno be only on car owners, but on all of us. Reason am na.

Please do you earn in dollars or pounds, for your support to this hardship is glaring?

Lol.

Do you think that Buhari has a magic money tree to continue paying subsidy on fuel forever?

Do you know how much money we have thrown away in the name of subsidy and how much it has contributed to the debt burden?

Do you know that we have always wanted to remove this subsidy since 1993?

Do you know that we don't have working refinery because the money that should have been used to fix them was spent on subsidy.?

Please don't make me angry.

I have and their minimum wage is either at the level of or lower than Nigeria.

Especially Niger, Benin and togo

Here you go

Nice comparison;
Have you also compared the purchasing power too.
The minimum wage in Nigeria can barely purchase a bag of rice,
is it the same in Niger, Benin and Togo.

I am sorry to say...but u BMC people are as mumu as the people who make policies for this administration..Yes a lot of Nigerians don't have car, but the economy is virtually run on petrol, as goods & people are transported with gasoline powered vehicles...most smes are run with gasoline...Do u think they will keep stuff cheap & run at a loss to please this incompetent administration?.

I also fully support subsidy removal, but this a very wrong time to rack up prices by 100% when the populace are already facing high inflation....It's either u magically fix the power sector or slowly remove the subsidy till things stabilized

Oga no dey yarn dust abeg. Nothing positive will come out of it. Oya tell me the positive wey come out from the last one wey dem increase. Rather we became the poverty capital of the world.

The only thing I can agree is that with time, we'll adapt.

Talking about the average Nigerian. E go affect us die. You see that fuel subsidy ehn, na the only thing wey we dey benefit from the government. At least our gen go dey on since them no give us light and transport to our place of hustle has been moderate, and now they are planning on taking all that away.

The government should just pity the masses and create policies that will be of great benefit to the average Nigerian instead of making things this bad.

Well I no blame them sha, na PDP I blame for being the worst opposition in ever in the history of politics.

Things must begin to work properly if the government want to remove subsidy not planning to add to the existing hardship.

So you know, expect the prices of everything to go up.

Who is the average Nigerian that does not own a car? if you no get car, you specify am not generalizing it. The taxi you ply is it owned by a rich man? and even if its owned by a rich man what do you think will be the salary or take-home of the average man driving it. Or the Keke you enter to move about does not use fuel abi. Of course its glaring to everybody that there is corruption in the oil and gas sector...Guy if you no get wetin to write down just FEM!

It is. And we even have better purchasing parity than they do.

Look we cannot afford subsidy. And the high prices and inflation we have is because we are spending forex we don't have feeding subsidy and getting into more debt in the process.

We should have removed that thing since 1993. By now we would be reaping the benefits well well

We provide virtually every thing we need by our selves, water, electricity, shelter. So what is the government providing to it citizens

Speaking from an economic point of view you're totally wrong. Can't you see that this single act by the government can lead to inflation? Who suffers most when there's inflation?

And do you know why.we don't have a lot of good anemites?
Much of the money that could have been spent on them was spent on subsidy.

Same reason why we dont have working refinery too.

If you want subsidy then taxes would have to go up on everyone including low income earners , farmers , herdsmen and even beggars.

Let the subsidy go. Investment will.come in and eventually prices will fall.

We have a working GSM sector because Obasanjo allowed mtn and econet charge anyhow price. They made profits and used it to build those gsm antenna and network we have.

Pls how true is this?

“It is very unfortunate and very sad that in spite of the outcry and the condemnation that greeted the National Assembly’s approval of the PIB, a paltry three per cent is allocated for the host communities’ development and the outrageous 30 per cent of the NNPC’s profit that is allotted for oil exploration in the frontiers, which we know is basically North-East Nigeria, perhaps North-Central Nigeria.

Oil producing states get 3% while 30% goes to oil exploration??

Exploration where exactly?? The ones being done in the north??

But during their campaign these people promised to reduce the price of PMS. They held different rallies when Gej increased the price of fuel and today they are doing far worse than Gej in handling the economy of the country.

Buhari even had the temerity to tell Gej to resign when insecurity wasn't as bad as it is today. You can't even travel with your mind at peace. Our debts profile hasnt been this high. There is immense poverty in every nook and cranny of the country. Inflation has TKO the naira.

If fuel should be sold at 300naira per litre, how do these charlatans in power expect the average nigerian to survive? Though they say the average nigerian is a survival(but for how long)

God please give us succor, heal our land and provide for us. Amen!
