Five Farmers Brutally Murdered In Modakeke, Ife (Osun State) by HonNL(op): 2:03pm On Aug 20, 2021

There is tension in Ile-Ife and Modakeke in Osun State as at least five persons were found brutally murder while going to their farm.

Sources told DAILY POST that the bodies were found in Modakeke in the early morning of Friday at Toro road.

The Osun State Police spokesperson, SP Yemisi Opalola, confirmed the incident, adding that a team of police operatives has been drafted to the towns.

It was also learnt that the Obafemi Awolowo University had shut its main gate as at the time of filing this report.

Herdsmen are hell bent on sending majority of SW people into Benin Republic, their leaders have failed to protect their people. Even the Amotekun they set up have abandoned their duties and now resort to extorting innocent people and spraying bullets on bystanders

I doubt if it is herdsmen. Northerners in Ife dare not cross their boundaries. Since the last incident when they were taught bitter lessons, they have been very respectful and courteous to their Yoruba hosts.
Most likely an issue between members of the community, people dragging land or people who just want to stir up trouble.
