If by God's willing I'd get married, I'd be delighted to marry a Fulani; the pretty naive ones. I will school her and acculturate her with modern social ethics.

My mom would never allow me to marry from another tribe which is why I settled with my yoruba boo. .. although I really love inter-trybe marriage.

Igbo girls are just too beautiful and smart to resist. Well, I'm not a fan of marriage. sad
Re: Share Your Experience Marrying From Other Tribe by OPTOSUN(m): 5:57pm On Aug 18, 2021
I know of a couple. The wife is Yoruba while the husband is Urhobo. Though they reside in Yoruba land, the wife and children speak Yoruba language only. They don't understand Urhobo. The man can speak Yoruba fluently since he has stayed in Yoruba land for a long time.
Anytime they go to the man's side, they don't cope because they couldn't speak Urhorbo language. While other members are discussing, they feel lonely.
So language diversity plays a role here.

I will advise against inter tribal marriage. All I have seen is one sad story and the other.Tribalism is too real in naija to allow a smooth sail. The kids are often caught up in the cross fire.

What statistics gave you this conclusion?

I married from Delta state, and I'm Yoruba, I've never dated any man from my tribe before, so I accepted my fate like that, and so far, it has been great, his people are nice, no issues.....yet.

Fulani are more educated and more elite than you think though not for competition... They don't just loud it .

Also, they don't marry outsiders even for Hausa to marry them is just manageable... they mostly marries themselves !!

Yea, not overly educated, unlike the Igbos, yorubas etc.

They rarely marry outside their tribe.

Most Fulani go to school in UK and they have jobs in Multinational or International development agencies waiting for them in Nigeria once they land......

They mostly marry their cousins ... Marriages in Fulani is strictly regulated because you can be disowned by the family if you misbehave by marrying outside!

I wanted to date the sister to one of my Fulani friend from Bauchi State ... She likes me but told me what I stated up there !!

Oh! Is that so?
Thanks for the insight.

Their beauty is unprecedented.
I'd love to meet the educated ones pretty soon.
Do you know where I could find them? Are they on social media?

They are on all social media and as social as Southern Nigerian girls but they are very conservative, pride/proud and selective......

They won't respond to you as a Southerner and ultimately an hustler .....

They school mostly in the North from futminna , uniabuja and upward .......Abu Zaria too, ATBU etc ....

I'm telling you , you don't see an average Fulani girl on the street..... unless you go to her school or place of work ... beware ... Most of them are all under watch by their men and jealously .... you can be cleared !

I am Ibo and married Efik(Cross River). Wedding rites was stress free. Family very supporting. So far, no regrets whatsoever. While she is smart enough to learn Ibo, I am not even keen on traditional relics because, when the chips are down, OYO.
But am glad, at least, I am expanding my family tree beyond my state or region. That will give our children more advantage, I guess

Oga, which tribe does not have an elite group amongst them? Your initial comments about the Fulani sounded as if all them school abroad and live sophisticated lives. You should have told us it's only the elites amongst them which only make up a very tiny percentage of that tribe. For your info, most Fulanis are rustics.
