So Nigeria inducts aircraft? We can't produce, we can't manufacture. We rely on world powers to acquire military-grade aircraft and weapons and now we want to do 'party' for one Tucano... Who cursed this country this bad?

Senseless talk.

How many countries can produce their own aircraft?

You people never miss any opportunity to insult your country as if you've another one.

NAF TO INDUCT A-29 SUPER TUCANO AIRCRAFT

The induction ceremony of the newly acquired A-29 Super Tucano aircraft into the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Order of Battle is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, 31 August 2021 at the 011 Presidential Air Fleet Apron, Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja by 10.00am. Expectedly, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, will preside over the induction ceremony as the Special Guest of Honour. As part of programmes lined up for the induction ceremony, a symbolic flypast will be performed by some of the newly acquired A-29 Super Tucano aircraft within the vicinity of the induction ceremony.

It would be recalled that the first batch of 6 A-29 Super Tucano aircraft arrived Kano, Nigeria on 22 July 2021. On arrival, the aircraft were received by the Honourable Minister of Defence, Major General Bashir Magashi (Rtd), alongside the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya and the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Oladayo Amao. The second batch of the remaining 6 A-29 Super Tucanos are expected in Nigeria before the end of 2021.

Quick question, must Nigeria seek the approval of anyone to equip our Armed Forces of military equipment? Are US the only manufacturers of military equipment?
yes US is the world power, most of the countries that produce aircraft cannot afford to lose their relationships with US, therefore they will not sale anything to you until us say yes.
We have countries like Russia and China that also produce aircraft but their jets are not effective as the US own. Mind you, the F16 you are talking about is an American aircraft.
Again you should know the US is the world police, they can attack any country that the suspected of having dangerous weapon, and if U S goes to war with you, you should know that the UK, GERMANY, FRANCE etc will be behind them.
Have you ever asked, why is the US having problem with North Korea, and Russia? If the US is against you then you should that the UN is also against you.
Have you ever asked why ISRAEL never been sanctioned by the UN? Because America is strongly behind Israel, therefore the UN have no power to touch Israel.

I no sure say I go ever vote Northerner again. They have always backdated the country to the B.c era with their archaic and unstimulating style of governance. Their Southern counterparts governance, as we have seen, were not the best but far better. It would have been better if Gideon had succeeded in cutting them off in 1990. Very regretful!

…to kill Nigerians in order to sustain dysfunctional one Nigeria for the benefit of the descendants of Othman Danfodio in Africa who want to take over entire Nigeria as homeland in Africa.

If not, Nigeria has no external enemies for the armed forces to fight with Tucano jet fighters .

Heaven knows I agree with you. Unfortunately, it is always the North vs South every eight years. I am hoping and praying the country disintegrates sooner than expected. That way, the North rules the North and South, the South.

And this is why they are currently in the issues that face them. This "you must not have what I have" mentality. Mind you, I'm not bashing the US as I live and work here - it is just the mind of entitlement I do not agree with sometimes. If I have a piece of equipment that is as capable as yours nko? Does that mean I'm your enemy?

The issue US has with NK and Russia is they are superior in their own way. NK has a very advanced Nuclear program with the codes in the hands of a madman who will not hesitate sending one this way. That's why US treads VERY CAREFULLY with North Korea and does not bully them like they bully Iran.

As for Russia, they date back to the Cold War era, and with their advanced cyber attacks, anything can happen. Let's not even talk about China. You cannot say because you are the "police of the world" you launch attacks on others because you think they are a threat cos they also have stuff. That's what happened with the "weapons of mass destruction" Bush "found" in Iraq? Where did it lead them to today?

Copied:
Afghanistan has 400,000 soldiers yet the country was taken by Taliban who has at most 75,000 fighters.

How was a nation taken with little or no blood shed?

The story goes back to early 2000's

When US and NATO defeated Taliban

Many of the Taliban fighters did not run out of Afghanistan..

A lot of negotiations took place with tribal leaders of these fighters.

As a result many of these fighters simply dropped their arms and were recruited into the Afghani Army.

They remained in the army waiting for a day US will leave Afghanistan.

They got promotions, training, ammunition and money from US for those 20 years legally.

As soon as US left, they simply went back to what they have been doing ...although now as the nation's power brokers

The former Taliban leader is now the Head of Government of Afghanistan.

That is what Boko Haram are doing with this surrender and forgiveness

They are doing "if you can't beat them, join them"

Sadly, Buhari and his Top military echelon are in support of it

Recruiting Boko haram straight into the army.

Those Boko haram boys are getting trained and they are waiting for the day they will unleash their terror.

You think the Minister of defense was joking when he said in an interview that

A REPENTANT BOKO HARAM CAN ONE DAY BE THE PRESIDENT....

That is the plan.....to turn this nation to an Islamic Emirate.

You might think ....it is not possible.

But look back at what you said won't be possible before 2015.....are they not our reality today?

Wake up !

There is fire on the mountain.

What manner of country is this biko?
Other countries are discovering distant galaxies, cure for COVID-19, exploring Mars, building stealthy and hypersonic jets, seeking ways to create wealth and reducing unemployment to barest minimum and all we are celebrating is buying antiquated Tucano or is it Tuk-Tuk jets.
Please somebody help get me visa to Benin Republic… Just anywhere but Nigeria at this point.
So sad.
