What a day! I picked someone from passport office Ikoyi to ijaiye(Oko oba estate precisely) and the trip came to 2500. Was so angry at the price, so I decided to go back to Yaba and I choosed yaba area trip destination. As I was going, I drove through the bridge and immediately I came down, I didn't notice I had entered a brt Lane. They stopped me and took me to their office at lamata ketu. They said it's either I pay 70k or face mobile court at Oshodi. I decided to face court, then they gave me a paper. It was already 4:30pm, so I said I'll go tomorrow. My car is parked in their compound. .

What a frustrating day! And to think that I was happy for making 20k yesterday, minus fuel.

This Lagos life is just frustrating I swear!

Braaaaah!

Say it isn’t so!

That is daylight robbery men, how can they tow a vehicle in trouble, not as if they are towing to your mechanic for you, but they are towing you as an offender.

Gosh, everyday, I hate Nigeria more.

What were you supposed to do? Like ensure that your car never ever ever breaks down while driving? Who can guarantee that? Not even Elon can guarantee that as some Tesla’s have broken down while driving.
We used to have LASEMA who used to tow cars to safety for free. I think they did not maintain the trucks because they're not bringing in money for them to embezzle. All they are after is money money money.
Now if road safety guys stop you and they have nothing against you, they will come up with one flimsy excuse like the air in your tyre is not complete grin
If you change am for them in a reasonable way, they will free you and try their luck on the next person

My position ESPECIALLY regarding posting dashboard has always been, don't legislate for anyone what they can and can't post. It's obviously viewed differently by different people.
Secondly, I have an issue with rent being 25k AND drivers still telling stories
Thirdly, be balanced in your narrative. If you have bad days you must also have good days, say it.

I don tell am if him like make him hear... The only thing allowed in your car is razor blade. As a matter of fact FRSC can book you if you don't have one on the highway. It was recently added as safety gadgets to have along your safety tools now

Lets know these things and be free from unbargain problem.

They obviously know when someone is truly innocent, but their greed will not let them reason with you. Money must drop. That's why majority of the cases don't get to court, that is hardly their intention. Only those that do stronghead will end up in court

I really don't know why we really make things hard for ourselves in this country

One day I was driving along Lasu Iba road.

Just after Iba junction, there was a police checkpoint. Immediately after the police checkpoint were Road Safety officers. Immediately after them were VIO officers

Ahn Ahn... Within a distance of 1m, three group of unarmed thieves were milking road users. grin

If you see that spot that day, it reminded me of how Toll gates used to be rowdy and filled with cars and people here and there.

I am not religious, but to be honest, I pray every single time I sit in the car to drive.

Wahala no dey end as long as these people dey

It does boss, everything in life is product of age. Some times a good sleep, a good environment and purify water are just the best medicine. Take a good look at the Afghanistan's top decision makers and look at the Taliban, you will understand the true meaning of peace of mind.

Pope, how are you. Please accept my condolences about her demise. I'm so sorry

Back to the matter

Do you remember the parable Jesus gave about the servants and talents? One was given 1 talent, another 2, and another 5.

The one with 5 traded and got 10. Definitely he did more work than the others.

My point is, this driving hustle is a means to an end. Everybody should make use of it now and get out when they have achieved their goal.

Chucsmoore used to drive here. Today he is not driving anymore.

We would definitely trade something for another. While I advise we take care of ourselves, we should also make the most of our opportunity and better our lives.

People go to work 6 days a week, and earn 80k a month. Why can't a driver drive 6 days a week and earn 150k a month?

It's not easy anywhere. I quit driving and it's not even easy on this side.

Make everybody just make the most out of it.

In addition, as you're driving be very very observant, if there's a local government or lcda secretariat close by, be extra careful about where u stop. If you notice tow trucks around, be very careful where you stop. If you notice uniforms or local govt reflective vest/polo-wearing touts around the area... You know the drill.
If you're entering a street, check for one way signs, if there's none, take note of the direction most cars are facing whether moving or parked cars. Don't be afraid to tell your rider you can't stop or pass a certain place.
You'll be fine

Exactly

I remember a common trick we apply here.

When you are not familiar with a particular terrain, just tell your rider that it's your first day of doing Uber driving.

Watch them guide you like a baby that can't walk well grin

No oh. I think they saw me. They just wanted to first position their towing truck wella first before coming to talk to me. They saw fresh and unaware bushmeat and didn’t want to spook me until I was cornered.

And their plan worked. As in ehn by the time I stood up from under the car to see what’s going on one of them had already entered the car and gabbed the keys.

Hmm... So sad! Such an experience can not be forgotten in a hurry.

Third Mainland Bridge. Inward Island

Pitfalls during rush hour 6.30am-11.30am.

Offence. Shunting of lanes.

1. Adeniji Adele exit.
TMB typically has 4 lanes. As you approach Adeniji Adele, avoid the last lane rightward. Cars most times won't allow you to get back into the 2nd and 3rd lane. Before you know it, you are already at the Adeniji Adele exit intersection, grin the lastma guys lurk around harmlessly, once you get there, they pounce on you.

Action plan: maintain 2nd and 3rd lane after adekunle.

2. a. Carter Bridge,
b. Osborne/ikoyi,
c. Tafawa Balewa square exit.

You will always spot a lastma guy with their rod of perdition carefully hidden in plain sight at Carter and Osborne. If there's mad traffic, At TBS exit on TMB, they park their van at the intersection and wait for whoever is going to shunt the line from the 2nd lane.

Action plan:
During rush hours, the 3rd and 4th lane are your safest points.preferably the 4th lane. Don't be ABSENT Minded especially during morning rush hours when entering these points.

Let's keep the flame burning.
I almost broke a lastma leg last week , trying to pounce on me, i never knew that side of the road is like dat oooooo chaiiii

Your mind is being sharpened with these experiences.

I thank God you escaped.

Never ever park on the road for anything. Even if your rider says he's on the road, look for a safe place to park. Always have that in mind.

Also, always central lock your car. Get used to it. Somebody comes down, lock. Someone enters, lock. Always lock, lock, lock grin

Lastly, learn to use your side mirrors all the time. Be vigilant. Always look out for any danfo or korope lurking behind when you want to park.

Above all, pray to your God not to let these people see you. Their wahala too much grin

Somebody can walkout of an accident car unhurt whereas the person sitting next to h/h had just died the next day or two that same person is on his way to a long journey by road. Another person can have such experience and will never travel again on a car for the rest of his life.

Look at R. Kelly he now uses ship to travel just because his gf Aliyah died in a plan crash.

So not everybody is d-same.
This is true though, the day i had an accident heading toward shagamu interchange from abeokuta, to drive home come dey fear me oo, never passed 40 till I got to gbagada, didn't drive for almost 2 weeks after. Ptsd mad gan.

This issue no need prolonged arguments, you want to drive all day and make 40K to 50K. It is possible just know that your body and your car go suffer am.

The only reason that i will drive from 5am to 11:30pm everyday na if i collect the car on rental and i get target to drive like 6 months straight and drop the vehicle.

Car wey i buy for personal use, i can’t try such with it. Forget say you dey make money, after 2 yrs na you go wonder say shey my car be this?

I started this bizness full time with 07 camry CE in 2016 when uber dey pay well, joined bolt 2017. I work like mad fast forward to 2019 the camry just say oto geh.

Sold camry add some money buy toks corolla 07, since then i don make up my mind. Offline trip majorly and some metered trips cos na you go suffer your loss alone after you don drive all around lagos.

Some of my guys wey dey chill around hotels for ajao estate, they will say they can’t do e hailing cos to them na shit. One trip in a day they fit see 50K if hotel guest wan commot, the other day fit dry but at least they know say dia car dey parked and resting.
