My opinion:

Anyone with Ph.D or anyone without B.Sc/HND should not be allowed near the Government House.

Those with Ph.D are stuck in teaching mode--all talks and no action (GEJ, Ikpeazu, and I suspect Soludo will reduce governance to an academic exercise). It is not about delivering wonderful speeches.

Those without first degree are too crude to understand management. They might have succeeded in personal endeavours. But in Nigeria, the only criteria for success at that level is being criminally-minded.

I agree with Soludo in setting the bar higher for aspirants (starting from Anambra), so that we don't repeat the collective calamity of putting the likes of Buhari in power. However, higher academic qualification should not be enough, rather should be the barest minimum. Verifiable track records of excellent public or private services would be the main ingredient, while character, unifier and visions would be the key differentiator.

Well since the constitution has put the minimum requirement to O'level we should allow those people between that category to enjoy their constitutional right. The question we should be asking now is if the NECO certificate is genuine or not and let us not forget that the constitution only demanded for attendance and not result eg I can have 8 F9s that doesn't stop me from becoming governor since I registered and sat for NECO.

Minimum cut off for Jamb , NTI, etc are all more than twice national Average. Our politicians including senator Uba have never worried how young people are affected.

Same educationally advantage toga should apply to political post.

Twice of National average means, 2.5 times SSCE, and that is a Post Graduate Masters as Minimum.

How many degree holders are governors in the east? I assume all. What are their developmental strides? Very pathetic including Anambra.
