The Federal Government has asked Nigerians not to take up arms to defend themselves against bandits, killer herdsmen or boko haram.

Muhammed Dingyadi, minister of police affairs, said this on Tuesday during the second annual ministerial media briefing at the police headquarters in Abuja.

“in as much as we shouldn’t expect the people to just be sleeping without taking measures to ensure that they secure themselves, their neighbours and their communities. That is the essence of community policing measures, report to the police.

“So, we need to have the support and partnership of Nigerians in the efforts we are making towards fighting crimes and criminalities.

Muhammed Dingyadi must be another name for stupidity. He must be very stupid for making this statement. Which police should we call? The ones that can't defend themselves against unknown gunmen in the east or the soldiers that can't defend themselves against bandits when NDA was attacked?

Nobody should listen to this idiotic old minister. Police and soldiers are as helpless as the rest of us. People should defend themselves in the best way and manner that is possible.

....but the King of Irigwe in Plateau state (with his people) had alleged several times that during the attack on their community in which about 85 were killed about 2weeks ago, they had repeatedly called on the armed forces to come save them from an ongoing herdsmen attack that lasted nearly 24hrs but that the forcemen said that THEY HAD NO ORDER TO MOBILISE AND GO DEFEND IRIGWE PEOPLE.
They police and the military are yet to comment on this till date.
