You can use current account from any bank...and you can also register with a pension fund manager before coming or you'll open one at the immigration headquarter....Don't mind the time scheduled for you documentation, just come early...pay attention to detail, ask questions and note that you'll take 2 or 3 days to finish everything as regards the documentation and ippis capturing but SURE of getting your APL that day....and eat before coming cos you'll write and get tired... Goodluck everyone and special thanks to Dannyxy and suppomo for having guided us from the beginning of the exercise uptill now.

For many of you coming here to Abuja for the first time, let me advise or rather warn...

1) learn to always take car to your destination from the different parks, alongs should be avoided except necessary, you all know one chance, dem plenty here.

2) ladies, plenty fine guys dey here , and will will be will to give rides, be careful.

3) if you can afford, use bolts or uber to your destination.

4) immigration headquarters is at the Express of the lugbe Abuja airport road, so if anyone is deviating to any street, he is not taking you there, no shortcut, it's a straight major express road, abuja is a beautiful city, and has sign and location boards, take note of them, and take note of the location the arrow on the boards are pointing out to..

Lastly, the C.g and top members of the board will be at this documentation most of the times, there is a reason it's in Abuja, so be of the best behaviour, get yourself self very prepared, documents, and looks, may God help everyone..

Boss good day, please have you heard any information regarding Federal Fire Service?

Good day everyone, hope you're doing great. First of all, I give thanks to the Almighty God for His and divine grace. Unarguably, we are all products of grace. I came in to Abuja on Wednesday night and my documentation was scheduled for Wednesday 26th. Please I am only giving a load down of my experience and my was applicable to me and me alone. I was scheduled for 9am but I was there at the venue as early as 7am,on getting I, discovered that people that were scheduled for 11am and afternoon had came as early as 6am. Which means your time doesn't really inasmuch as its the same day, just ensure you go there very early so that you can start the process on time. Right from the gate, we did a bit of drilling; we were given forms to fill, IPPIS form for a start. If you already have a Pension account, good for you, it will make your process faster but if not the forms will be given to you there however you might not really be registered in the Pension organisation of your choice. Yesterday, I only saw just one pension(OAK pension) forms been given out. From there, we were moved or jogged by an officer to another canopy where we made to sing along, "I FOUND WORK, I SEE, I SEE WORK I RUN" Thereafter, we were on a queue, we registered our names and sat there under the canopy. We were given a crested vest of Immigration under that same canopy outside. About 4 forms were given again and we were marched inside the basement of a very big hall holding a capacity of about 10,000. Our urine was collected for the test of tramadol and other things I can't remember. This doesn't take time and from there we proceeded upstairs to the main hall. Here if you are ASI, you will meet the Ministry of Interior delegates for your Appointment letters. Remember to buy about 2 post office stamp when coming but if you don't have, there's someone there that gives out at a token. There, you are to fill some certain forms too and you will drop the 1 photocopies of each of your documents. Mind you, testimonial was collected for primary school leaving certificate. Although i did an affidavit to support but there was no thorough checking, as in no scrutiny at all.. We left the board to cleared at another table where they requested for our invitation letter. Take note that documentation at the delegates/representatives of Ministry of Interior is quite different from that of Immigration and it is for ASI and this because their letter is issued by the Secretary to the Board why the letters of other junior cadres comes directly from the CGI, hence they won't have to come to the section of Ministry of Interior for anything. Make I no bore you with too much stories, you will be issued Appointment letter and from there a posting letter to your state of Origin was issued. A file will be given to you which has your File Number or Service number on it. File number is the same as service number and its a unique identifying number that stays with you for the rest of life just like your phone number. Photocopies of your documents will be sectionally requested at different points, so get the ready. Your medical fitness letter is required. If you are married, bring along your marriage certificate. Know your height, weight, colour of your hair, chest measurements, colour of your eyes, blood group, genotype.. Just the few I can remember in one of the forms. However, if you don't know it, you can leave it but it's advisable to fill it. We proceeded for IPPIS capturing and later ID-card. I must confess that since that morning, it was really hectic and rigorous. Please carry snack or food along o. Na till 8pm I comot there though I couldn't finish up everything in a day, but am just left with the part of ID-card which I'm going to conclude today. Truly, it is not what can be concluded in a day. If you are very fast, it will still a 2 days. You also have to very smart, sharp and shine ya eyes(BBN). But I must confess thag Nigeria Immigration Service is well organised and well coordinated. I have benefitted so much from this thread right from day one of my application to Immigration in terms of information, update and guidance and I really appreciate everyone for your contribution. Thanks Dannyx, Suppo and others for your timely info. It's been a wonderful journey of fate together. Wish you God's grace in your endeavour. If you haven't come over for your Appointment letter and this exercise, just relax your mind, you will get it, nobody is sending you back for anything. Throughout yesterday nobody was sent back for anything around me which I was aware of. All izz well.

Mind you, nobody is considered for ASI-1, All na ASI-2 but if you don drop your Master's Certificate, a very Senior officer, he's a medical doctor, told me it will really hasten your promotion and career progression.

Please don't mind my typing, composition and grammar. I rushed in typing just to give this update. It was when I got here that I knew those that didn't give us update as such don't really have the time. When you get here, keep your belongings:credentials phones and all very well, Naija will always be Naija oo.
Congratulations in advance.

Thanks olamighty that was so detailed, can you talk about opening of current account as well please.

According to what the officer in charge told us, if you have an existing current account, you can use it; if you have savings account that is not a student or NYSC account, you can as well use it. But ensure that the savings account can accommodate large sum of money like 1M upward sha... Inasmuch as there's no limitation.

I don't really have a genuine answer or information about this. But from my perspective and considering what I saw yesterday, I think the officers also have their own personal person that they brought which I can't really whether it's through replacement, link or general recruitment. Na Naija we dey, just keep troubling your link and hold the person tight... God go make way for all of us...

It is the crested vest given at the venue that you will use. No uniform was issued. However, if you feel like buying camo and some other things you can visit their Mammy market...
