Am I the only person seeing the lady cry in the last image?

The story was fabricated because I don't know how a grown up lady will cry if the story narrated was what really happened.

I am sure the so called religion of peace have forced them to marry the said groom despite the ladies were not interested and their dad tried protecting them.
Isn’t it normal for people who are emotional to cry
I don’t know in your culture but over here in the north women always cry on their wedding day

Some people can't read, this ain't no win for hisbah, it's a win for feminist's.

Got little to do with religion because both the suitors and women are of the same religion.

Some people can't just wait to shit on Islam meanwhile your Christian sister's are throwing away babies into latrines.

Yeye people.

The women had 1) CHOSEN their husbands, not had them chosen for them 2) THEIR father was for reasons best known to him saying no, and not even providing alternatives. 3) The women were over 30 years of age. 4) The women wanted to marry the men in question, and the men too wanted to marry them

The Court has ruled in favour of the women, and has ordered the Hisbah to see to it that they are married to the men of their choice.

Stereotypes aren't good.

The girls especially the one in green hijab doesnot look happy or 'rescued'.

I think you should look past the narrative you want to peddle in favour of Hisbah and search deeper (if you can).

Well

1.Everyone...in the picture are Muslims. The girls, their fathers, their suitors...Muslims. This isn't the infamous cases of non-muslims being forced to marry muslims...

So, your theory ends up implying that muslims are being forced to marry...muslims? Okay.

2.The case was brought by a women's right group...not necessarily an easy thing to operate in states like Jigawa.

3.Imagine going up against your family in a legal case. You win, but in the process, you lose your blood family. How would you feel? Happy, or sad.?

4.Plus, God knows how long the case has taken. Them ladies could be weeping tears of joy...that their fight with their dad is now over. That they are now free to marry the men of their choice.

But, why would a father be this heartless?! Thank you, Hisbah

You almost made good sense to me when you started off with the question "But why would a father be..." Alas! you ruined it by Judging he was "heartless"!
For me, I think there's need to get to the root of the matter.

Why is the man refusing the marriage proposals to the young women? - this question was left unanswered throughout the story.

Again, why were the young women appearing far from happy? If truly they wanted marriage, and now marriage they have, why the loss of mirth?

Mashallah, this is one of the issues we muslims are having. How on earth your daughters are able to find men to marry @ 30 and you're saying no to them? Haba! And some enemies of Islam on here are begin to call Islam sought of names.

I have given you my idea of what happened...plus I believe in a secular society, and am not too favourable on Sharia law., or any religion mixing with government...including my own.....so stop accusing me of defending Hisbah or whatever.

For once, the law intervened on the side of women's personal choice.

Again, I am not defending any relgion, or hisbah...I am just pointing out the problems with your ideas of the case.

You are free, however, to believe what you want to believe.

P.S

If you had a legal case against your family, and you won, and you know your winning means that you are now estranged from your family permanently, you would cry too.

Also, if you had been fighting for your right to marry your choice, and had to go though a long court case, in a court influenced by a very patriachial religion, and the court , for once rules in your favour...contrary to its patriachial teaching....you would weep tears of joy too.

Again, I prefer a totaly secular court and legal and government system myself.

You're Right. The judge did the right thing. Any court will give that judgement.

@bold:

The story we are told says same however the pictures doesn't.

The lady in green hijab doesn't look like she is crying joyfully; she looks so sad.

She doesn't have the joy of a bride who finally married her sweetheart after 'winning' her father.

Correct, it actually protects women from their innate recklessness and doesn't mean long suffering as most would like to portray.

The Head of Hadejia Women Foundation for Orphans and Vulnerable Children, Fatima Kailanini, had sued Malammadori for refusing to give out Khadijat and Hafsat Abdullahi who had presented to him their suitors.

How? Did the girls agree to the marriage? What's it about being a real (slave slur) here than you reading and actually understanding what you read?
