First Mr Izzou, what is a job seeker doing in the Sport and Politics Sections regularly rather than the Job/Vacancies Section? What's the valid relationship?

Yes, 1k is small but I won't give it to a potential gambler when there are some folks here who may have not eaten since morning or are sick. I have no problem with whoever helps him but I chose to help people who are truly in need.
Most of these people begging on these platforms are career almajiri, with no plans to help themselves.

It's okay sir

Let's just agree to disagree.

You haven't understood my point yet

I asked for advice here before venturing into this hustle, I got little information. However, I did not want to be idle just after completing my masters and waiting for my statement of result.

I took the bold step and moved from enugu to Abuja to start bolt while looking for a job. This is my first week on bolt and it was quite good. Thanks to the advice of CheerfulGiverr and the likes. I also did 15k offline and I used 30k fuel. I work from 7am to 2pm and 4pm to 8-9pm

Not possible. Earnings don't change. What changes is what you save from fuel.

Best car for this hustle is the king of fuel saving, the 2010 Toyota Prius.

A Toyota Prius is 50mpg city with a 11.9gal tank or 45liters

full tank in city driving is worth 50*11.9= 595miles

Therefore, an average driver should use 20 gallons of fuel a week, or 20 x 3.8liters = 76 liters of fuel.

76 liters x 163 naira per liter is 12,388 naira per week.

Savings of 23k weekly more than a corolla/matrix/vibe. If I work 48 weeks in a year, car will save me 23 x 48= 1,104,000naira in fuel costs alone.

I have more than enough for repairs.

Car is cheaper than a 2010 corolla.

Caveat is if the hybrid batteries are working optimally.
And that isn't the case in >80% of the time when using or buying a Tokunbo Hybrid car. Talkless of naija used.
Except you are planning to buy brand new car
Or
u r going to invest in changing the complete battery cells. Budget 500k to 1m for that and that's for used not even brand new cells.
I know two people who bought and disposed off a Hybrid car in the space of 2months of purchase cos it wasn't what they thought as batteries were bad and replacement was expensive.

He said it's only the few people I know that it's happening to, I just don't like arguments.
The said Camry we used like 8k plus little fuel inside to ugheli, I was very sure the battery was working because it was switching from time to time.
That got me thinking, if there's difference, after all.
Normal Camry 2.4 can as well do the said journey with same amount of fuel.
The worst part is that the car is grounded as we speak.

Like I said earlier, your level of interest in a particular venture determines the passion you put into wanting to demystify it. First of all, it's a huge lie that changing complete cells cost 500 - 1m. That's a lie. There are ways to fix cells that you may not know about because like I said, your level of interest.

You don't make your reality about hybrid vehicles my own reality. I have mine, you have yours. If hybrid cars are as demonized as you paint, they won't be taxis worldwide. Make your research. Majority of Nigerians are emotional about things like these but I'm not the majority. I have had positive experiences with hybrid cars, including the one I mentioned earlier of my friend and his highlander hybrid of 7 years. We bought that car together in Cotonou. It is convenient for you to try to displace my own positive experiences with your negative ones, which were of course, caused by a lack of due diligence by your car owner friends. It doesn't work that way.

A hybrid vehicle, like other vehicles uses components that have a lifespan. Due diligence entails that you find out the history of what you're about paying for as you also cannot condemn a particular brand of non hybrid vehicle because it gave your friends problems.

2008 Camry will consume more fuel. It has a 21mpg rating as against the Prius 50mpg

21mpg with a 18.5 gal capacity tank, a full tank in city driving is worth 21*18.5 = 388miles

Therefore, an average driver doing 1000 miles a week should use 47.65 gallons of fuel a week, or 47.65 x 3.8liters = 181.07 liters of fuel.

181.07 liters x 163 naira per liter is 29,514 naira per week.

Driving a 2008 Camry le on bolt for a combined 48 weeks out of 52 in a year, you spend 48 x 29,514 = 1,416,672 naira on fuel, as against 594,624 on the prius.

On same conditions, a Prius saves you 822,048 on fuel alone in a year. Minus savings on engine service as well..

These are facts.

Pls brother, can you assist me on the calculation for a corolla..... Just wanna check if I'm right

Guys I think Bolt is not doing well by removing the price review feature from their app. Or what do you think?

Or so many occasions, rider pays less or it occurs that trip didn't happen. But now, any trip you click on starting, you can t but let it count. I think this is not too good.

Okay, no problem since that's what you want I'll help you with few details you need to know about partnership with your co-tenant or driver in this racket then you'd understand better before making and taking a good decision.

What you're about to do is called rental in other words a partnership with a driver for your car. So therefore he's not your personal driver rather you two are partners in the business while he's a partner to either Bolt/Uber(they only know him and not you). So in this content both of you are partners to each other.

Understood? Good! Let go!!

1) The driver experience or not in ehailing (Uber/Bolt/Indriver), rents the car from at an agreed amount and he/she is to make payment to you unfailing every Mondays or Tuesdays of the week. Usually rental fee is within 25-35k or more now due to high cost of maintenance and purchase of asset for a Toyota Corolla/Camry/civic etc as the case maybe.

But this your car now is a hybrid car, we do have not have anyone on this forum with such car on rhe platform so no idea on what and how the amount and deal should be because if I'm correct this car of yours consumes far less fuel right? Since its hybrid so you don't expect to rent at rhe same amount a driving renting the petrol car should rent unless you want to go into charity.

Hint: 40/45k weekly should be fine, this should be a good excuse to terminate your proposed partnership with him.

2) Owners partners in (1) are responsible for maintenance and servicing of their car while some share depending on amount being rented out. This is where you fall in. Like I said above no review in this your car so you've to come up with a formulae that will suit you for the good of your business.

3) For the good of your business, it is advised to install a tracker in the car, get a comprehensive insurance if you can afford it (off course you should) u na chairman na 2009 hybrid owner? U na bossgrin ... This will help to safeguard against thieft, car hijackers, accident or anyother unforeseen circumstances that may/will come along.

4) You don't have business with driver's account, when he/she should work, go or returns back from work. Your business is:
(a) Put the car in a good shape before start up.
(b)Fill tank up or half before giving out car to driver.
(c) Both of you should go to the inspection center closest to you, you are paying for this service. N1200/1400 for bolt, N2000 for Uber and free for indriver, (the report(s) is usually sent to an email address. Get a copy from your driver and keep it for record and future purpose. EgetWhy).
(c) Maintain your car accordingly, get your money and take 1 gotobed (goldberg) grin

5) Weekly rental/payment, I usually do it Mondays to Mondays that means, driver starts work on a Monday and then pays the next Monday. If he pays before then its welcome but it shouldn't exceed Tuesdays.

Above all make sure driver is registered on both or anynof the ride share company before giving out your car to him/her. EgetWhy o. 4 I's haf sin tins.

Finally, I hope you know the implication of using that car for transportation business, it gonna start developing fault every now and then I because it being used on a daily bases and the cost of maintenance for a hybrid car from my research no be here... So know what you're routing in for before you go into it.

Haven't said all of these I wish you good luck in what ever decision you make out if this.
Wow, nice one from you bro, very succinct! Even though u dey fall person hand at times grin

Commission is still 20%. The shortfall in your balance is due to the ₦16 per trip levy (LASG Road Tax) deducted from your balance.

So Uber drivers are making millions driving.
I receive it, I claim it.
Let’s assume what I see on my dashboard is what I have in my account and I’m the king of ants,
I earn 560k every month (800k gross - 20% commission and 10% fuel/servicing)
560k * 12 months = 6,720,000
So I have 6.7M , I will now buy car 4.5M , pay lekki house rent 1.5M and left with 720k.
