You need to see how rough the pop was! Very rough and the stupid boys were saying “that’s how it would be when it’s still wet, when it gets dry.. the true shape would come out” grin grin lmfao, we ain’t spending alot of money on this just for it to end up looking like a village mud house! It was painful but i ordered all the POPs to be dropped off immediately (in the presence of another pop guy that will do it).

The new POP guy did a perfect job.

The old Pop company is still begging for job till date.

UPDATE ON THE ABANDONED BOREHOLE PROJECT BETWEEN MICGRAY100 AND TWINSKENNY.

1, As at today... the project remained abardoned...

2, Last 4 days, TWINSKENNY said he is tired of the whole situation and he can only refund N50k to me as compensation which he sent to me...

3, Amount I have paid is 300k from the 350k agreed for just drilling and piping

4, Job done to site is only buying of casing pipes which amount to 150k...

5, House... I have requested for just 100k refund... which TWINSKENNY said he can't pay it but could only afford to refund 50k...

I will drop the agreed quotation here on the job here... and let the house decide if my 100k refund is justified or not...

Here is the Quotation......
4nos 5" of 5mm thick 19500×4=78000
10nos 5" of 3mm casing 9500×10===95000

This is why I always ask folks if they’re hands on or just a “Consultant”. And nothing is wrong with that but it’s just not what I want.

My POP is being done by five guys. The Oga gangan is there, two already free guys that gets job on their own and two casters. The Oga sets the pace and tone, outlines the setup. I can already tell that if he wasn’t there I would have issues. The two free guys are quick to say good enough but the Oga will ask for measuring tape, level, etc

Key staff is also important. I don’t expect Spyder880 to handle shovel or sit at one job site all day. He seemingly doesn’t need to because he’s created a system and employed good staff.
Perfect, when it’s time to continue the project, i will gladly have a written agreement with whosoever we will be outsourcing the work to.

This is not an apartment for rent, this is an apartment i will be living for as long as possible… the perfection should be close to 100

Definitely you will get the best from us if you involve us.

We have our own standard operating procedure that we follow. I have supervisor

Few of SOP is as follows

When you resume to sit:
-Request for 1m level from the min contractor or builder. This will enable us to know the height socket , switches and tye DB

- Request for the plastering gauge

- Do the 1m level throughout the wall to have uniform height for all the accessories

-Mark out the position of our boxes,
Looking forward to the Chief

Experience is the best teacher, unfortunately, mine came with a bitter one.

From the young energetic Tiler vouching that the stains on the tiles would go off once the tiles are done (the stains are still there till date) to brick guy reassuring me the bricks would be okay (i sent the bricks outcome here)

Now, if it’s not okay to me.. i do advice them to do the needful immediately.

The truth is Artisans can tell if you are a first time builder. Most of them will take advantage of it and sell you whatever. The first time I bought a car and I had a problem with the caliper, instead of the mechanic telling me one of the bolt holding the caliper has worn out, he told me the TRIANGLE MECHANISM is bad and will need a replacement... na so I carry money give am he ended up buying just a bolt and pocket the rest of the money. I figured out when the same problem occurred and I took it to a different mechanic who told me everything that I needed to know and said there is no such thing like TRIANGLE MECHANISM in a car.

here's what I did to fix such down time

I bought a brand new generator and have a backup generator too. I ensure I change the oil when it's due and I don't do roadside oil. I also do routine maintenance of the generator to avoid total breakdown
And yes, the generator that will power the welding machine will power at least three grinding machine at same time comfortably. So you see it's almost of no use to me. I have a mobile generator and a stationary one. Trust me I cutting stuff like H beam channel require good power. The generator noise is what I call occupational hazard. My ears have grown to deal with it

Antisol chemical 3500×2==7000
Transport===3 to 4k

Drilling =170,000

Thanks for sharing with us. I have few questions sir.

1. You said the only thing done on site so far is that the guy brought the casing pipes. Does this imply the guy hasn’t drill at all?

2. If yes, at what point did you decide to pay him additional 100k after the 200k you sent through @twinskenny?

3. Was it after he brought his equipment to site? Or after he brought the casing pipes?

4. Have you tried reaching out to the guy on your own to understand his challenge and both look for a way to resolve amicably?

I think the N50k offered by twinskenny is fair enough and you should do all you can to chase up the guy to get him to complete the job or refund you for job not done.

Even if it means appealing to Twinskenny to help you prevail on him or apply force.

Here’s my recommendation:

- Divide the balance of N150,000 between all the parties involved (Yourself, the Contractor and twinskenny).

- Approach the contractor to let him know your decision to officially terminate the contract and ask for a refund of N50k from him.

- Write him officially and give him ample time to respond to you. He might have good reasons.

- If he’s unreachable or can’t read/write, pass your resolution across to him through twinskenny.

_________

So far, so good you’ve been able to recoup 66% of what you’ve spent. If you’re able to get additional N50k from the guy, you’d have recovered 83%.

The remaining 17% to be borne by you should be recorded as “experience fee” grin

Thanks for your contribution Oga N3xt... On the questions you asked...

1, The guy has only drilled less than 30feets... and we agreed 200 feets above (65meters to 70meters) Every new borers I took there don't even regards the 30feets as a job... they are requesting for full money...150k above ..

2, The additional 100k was paid to him at point of sales of the pipes... this is because he didn't buy the pipes from the initial 200k deposit.. The pipe was bought after his driller develop problem.. I had to used the pipe buying as a way of recovering my money... it tools the intervention of my sister before he could add 50k to my 100k to buy pipes..

3,Like I said earlier.. he bought the pipes because I pressurized him to.. our agreement was that he will buy the pipes from the initial 200k... but when he failed.. I had to force him to buying pipes by 100k to it.

4, I have tried all to reach out to the guy.. he just reads my messages without reply.. He still even upload new jobs he is doing in his watsapp status.. I don't know how TWINSKENNY could relate with such a person..

The 50k offer of TWINSKENNY plus my 50k is just 100k..

the new drillers are charging 200k to 250k currently...

mine is who will balance this remaining balance...

I have requested a 100k refund.. or he TWINSKENNY collects the 100k with me and find who to complete it according to our earlier agreed contract..
Like I always say... this is test to this forum...
I don't want us to deviate from customers satisfaction here... customers sacrificing his hard earn money is not a good omen for us here on this forum...

How will everyone feels if I collect job of designing structural engineering drawings here from someone in the forum without delivery in full.. and tell the client to sacrifice..

it may be anyone tomorrow.. let us call a spade a spade on this forum...

my 2 cents ...

Now I understand your side of the story and I think you deserve a full refund a job not done.

As suggested earlier, terminate the contract officially and make your full position known to the contractor and the person who recommended him.

Once again, twinskenny has really tried here. He has tried using police. He has made huge sacrifices when he’s not even expected to do so BUT I’ll appeal to him at this time to work with you to put an end to this issue.

By not delivering this project, his contact (the driller) is still having over 50% of the fund with him because the client didn’t engage him to show up with a faulty equipment, drill few meters and run away.

The implication of this in my my own layman understanding is that he’s trying to defraud his customer because he obtained money from him to drill a borehole knowing fully well he lack the capacity to do so.

Bros, I know you will not like to hear this but I think it is time to cut your losses and move on. Take the 100k as school fees in the school of the streets. I am talking as someone who has had to deal with issues like this on my build. Some workmen are just unfortunate fellows and you do not allow their issues hold you back. Try to learn from this and come up with a process that works for you in these transactions. Sorry eh.
