Thanks for the response. It's all what you have said. It's going well but very fast paced. The only thing I am thankful for is the peer learning and the willingness to help among other learners. I was finding difficultly to learn on my own there why I signed up so it has been helping me. Concerning their space, it's very far from my residence so I'm unable to go regularly
That's too bad try and go once in a while sha you will enjoy it, especially their wifi cheesy

Yes it was stutern. They actually connected we with 4 jobs, I rejected one failed the interview of 2 and finally got the 4th one. That's a story for another day though.

What you can do is make your cv and portfolio look good with impressive projects because all stutern does is direct employers to their hire page. It's the employers that make the final choice.

Another thing you can do is learn how to interview, it's really important. I mentioned earlier that I failed 2 interviews right. Well one of those companies decided to hire a colleague from my cohort instead and this was someone I used to help out with code and take on tutorials during our time in stutern grin
But she probably interviewed better than me and ended up getting the job. But it still all turned out for good, no regrets.

The interview story for another is here o.. we have moved to project phase

So, Stutern don't teach any stack apart from JS stacks?

They teach fullstack JavaScript for in their web dev course. There is also data science (python) and Android dev (Java).

Hi @Amazingamb , I specifically created an account on Nairaland just to speak with you about this when I saw this Nairaland post link. I'm planning on joining Stutern, and I'd love to hear first hand experience on how it's going & if they are worth their promise.

Thanks & good luck.

Cool. It's a good experience. But have you dabble a little into programming? And where do you stay? Are you working? There are a lot to take into consideration before starting stutern

I stay at Abuja, and work there. And yes, I’ve dabbled into programming.

How’s it going now?

working while learning with stutern is quite hard. it requires at least 4hrs per day to learn and catch up on class videos and assignment, if you can make that work for you, it will be cool and since you are familiar with programming especially Javascript it will be easier. but all in all, Stutern will equip you with intermediate skills not that of beginner. like if you can understand their curriculum and classes well, the least job you can get is Junior developer. middle / intermediate is possible with their classes if you understand me

Wow. I do understand, and now I'm even more interested! and I'm quite looking forward to the challenge of catching up!
I suppose you're rounding up with the training by now. Wish you all the best in your career!

Please, I recently enrolled into Stutern cohort program(software development), and it's almost 600k for the full tuition. I already made the first payment of 150k, I want to know if it's worth the money or I should just cut my loss and move on. Please share your knowledge/experiences about their mode of operation. Thanks as you contribute
Cut your loss move on, are you paying for a degree damn. You should have use that money for a professional certificate in addition to computer degree

Seems you think it’s a waste. Do you have some experience or information on Stutern that you can share please? Why do think they’re not worth it & she should cut her loss?

Yo!

I'm interested in registering for Stutern, I don't Mind the fees, I just need some clarification on little things.

1, what's the basic requirements I need to have before applying for stutern

2, Hows the learning like cos I'm still schooling right now, can I handle the two together.

3, I'm not a complete newbie to coding, I know node, react, solidity and JavaScript. Will all this help in the lessons.

4, is there certificate internationally recognised for use other than Nigerians?

You can find that at stutern. com

The name of the program is Stutern Graduate Accelerator. It's meant for graduates that are ready to start work right away. You will be required to present your NYSC discharge or exemption certificate as a requirement. But I had a colleague who took the program as a fresh graduate when we started working he went for his orientation camp. So you probably need to discuss your options with a stutern rep.

Yes it would help a lot.

Stutern will help you get an internship or junior dev role in Lagos. How you build your career from there is up to you. I know of stutern alumni that have built their careers from there and are now working in international organizations. Skills and experience is what is important.
