Almijiri that is why he is called the number one man of your state, your state is more important than the federal to you, when you realize that, you will stop chasing shadows, how many Federal Ministries do you have in your Local Government? How can The Federal Government assist you in that your hamlet to make your life better? The Local Government will create jobs based on the comparative advantage of area, you will not go & create mining jobs in a riverine area.
but the president have more power than the states, or the presidency are hopeless and powerless about what going on in the states?

Stop spreading lies, there was never a time that Lagos's allocation was withheld. It was the council's funds that were held and the reason for that was the creation of 37 more local government councils and the insistence by Obasanjo to pay the local government's allocation directly rather than hand them over to the state governments.

The Supreme court later ruled that Lagos State Government was wrong to create Local Councils without following the constitutional procedures and Obasanjo was also wrong to withhold the Local Government allocation. After that judgement Lagos State changed the names of the 37 newly created Local Government Councils in Local Government Development areas and Yar Adua/Jonathan eventually agreed to be paying state's money belonging to the Local Government and the funds were released to the Lagos State Government under Fashola.
Does the Local Government not belong to the state? Don’t they share a joint account as mandated by the Constitution of The Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (As Amended), what right did The Federal Government (Obasanjo) have to withhold something that does not belong to you? State House of Assemblies are allowed to creates laws for their states, which is subject to Federal law, Federal Government has no business with Local Government money, that is the exclusive jurisdiction of the State, Obasanjo Abuse of power? Well the Supreme Court only reiterated my point.

There are no more than 5 million people in Abuja, the remainder 210 million people are scattered across the 36 states, 776 Local Governments, The Federal Government did not appoint the 36 Governors & 776 council men like it was done under the Military, now in our democrazy, power belongs to the people, the problem with most Nigerians is that they do not understand the system of Government they practice, since all they did was copy & paste their system of Government.

Only Almijiris without any iota of identity look to the President, what happened to your State & Local Government? If everyone held their states accountable, Nigeria will be a blissful Nation, but no, they continue to chase shadows, no different from a foolish dog barking @ a flying bird.

I don't know which states and local governments are in charge of the security forces in Nigeria. Or any state or local government that has the duty of generating electricity to power businesses. But I'm open to learn new things.

Honestly, Nigeria needs to be studied & researched as a course in the university even up to PhD level. Maybe through that, we would discover the solution to problems of this complex entity called Nigeria.

The major problem of Nigeria is that entities with vastly opposing and opposite views and aspirations are lumped together under a unitary system camouflaged as a federal system. Try imagining Afghanistan and Australia being brought under the same country and government, and wonder how development will be possible in such a scenario.

Ask your Governor to account for the security votes money he has collected in the last 6 years from The FAAC, & to show proof on what it was spent on, to the best of my knowledge energy generation is now private sector driven, Jonathan deregulated that sector on the 7th Day of November 2013? The only arm under FG is transmission which you & labor union have sworn to stop the Federal Government from deregulating.

Did people from Sokoto state or Ekiti State vote for the Governor & Local Government in power in your state, what concerns us? You people should go & hold the people you voted for to account & stop chasing shadows shouting President. Any Tom, Dick & Harry can be shouting President Buhari Just like any Usman, Chike & Owolabi.

The two main ingredients that attract investment and development are energy and security. I don't know about the Constitution, but you may enlighten me on the states and local government put in charge of these.

Eko Distribution & Benin Electric Distribution Company are different companies that serve different states, how many helicopters & drones has your state Governor bought with his security votes money since 2015, how many Local Vigilantes groups have they set up, & how much are they paid, Go and ask your Governor about how he spent your state security votes money, I am not the SSG.

No Nigerian politician since 1999 is a patriot.

They are all rogues.

If they had done what they were supposed to do, people like Buhari would never ever have smelled the presidency.
Were they suppose to kill buhari?
The people that picked him from the gutters, dusted him like okon dey dust blackboard for Uncle Akpan, presented him to the masses as the messiah are the unpatriotic nigerians, obasanjo included.
Buhari's past was all over the internet for all to see, but they said even if they caught him stealing from pot of cooked okpa, they will still vote for him.

Almijiri what of the Governor of your state, can’t he prosper you, is he not in a position to propel you to greater heights? What can The Federal Government in Abuja do for you, that your State can’t do for you? Hospital, Good Schools, create employment based on comparative advantage, electricity, communal security? NDDC that was meant to intervene & develop the Niger Delta, we are yet to see anything in 20 years. Yet people are shouting Buhari?

Ok. I'll ask my governor how he commands the money given to him to run around and protect people from herdsmen and other criminals. I'd love to learn the black magic involved in such a glorious feat.

You don't understand my gist.

The system that throws up people like Jonathan and Buhari is faulty.

Obasanjo had 8 solid years to help fashion a system that would stand the test of time, but no, he was selfish.

It's not the person's, it's the system.

That's why we say Nigeria can never work.

Even if you bring an extraterrestrial being to come and help us, the system will defeat him.

The unfortunate part is that, they system CA never be changed. The people who are empowered to change it are also the beneficiaries of the broken system.

you failed it!!! Nation continue growing no man can say "I have finished the job of this Nation" let us assume Buhari continue from where they stopped, and not taking us backwards.

And does it look like Nigeria is progressing to you?

Every successive government since 1999 has been abysmal.

That's why Nigerians look back and praise the previous government.

Mark my words, if there's an election in 2023, after a few years into 2023, Nigerians will begin to miss Buhari's administration.

It's not a curse. It's a statement of fact.

As terrible as Jonathan's era was, you see people today talking about Jonathan as if he was an outstanding leader.

During Jonathan's period, people looked back and praised Obasanjo, that he was firm and Boko Haram would never have seen the light of day. People were even blaming themselves for not allowing Obasanjo to pursue his third term agenda.

During that same Obasanjo's time, there were people who looked back with nostalgia at Abacha's time.

So, the next administration will be worse than Buhari's own. Take that to the bank.

Nigerians have a very very short memory.

I personally do not think increasing over heads in any way is a good strategy, since the states have now been in charge of the local governments how effective have they become?

Is 20 effective and strong local government areas not better than 57 almost osteosarcoma

I have stated the facts as it is, you are now free to take sides.

1. The supreme court declared that both parties were wrong Local government Areas can only be created after been approved by the national assembly according to the constituition, if APC does not like this, well the party is in power now they can either amend that portion or approve the 37 Local government Areas but since they have not done so in 6 years i believe that the party agrees 100% with the constituition on that.

2. When the local governments were created initially, the plan was to make them independent of the state governmets but that has changed because the state governors insisted otherwise, Obasanjo wanted the Local government Areas to be independent and tried to force it and even Buhari in his last interview clearly stated the same thing, he clearly favoured it, according to him State governments wants more autonomy but are insisting on not giving the local government the same autonomy they are asking for, like i said you are free to have your own opinion on this, everybody does.

3. I personally do not believe in creating more recurrent expenditure in the name of local goverments, states or ministries, i believe a nation like Nigeria can do with less state Governors, less local Government chairmen and less Ministers. More Money shoud go to capital projects. 20 strong and virile local governments is better than 57 almost comatose ones

4. Finally the myth that Lagos state allocation was withheld has stayed for too long, no matter how many times you parrot it, it is wrong. Lagos State allocation is different from Local Government allocation and it has never been withheld.
