If there is somewhere else that you can buy, go there. If not then it is not juju, it's just lack of other options

If it is really grace, why does she only sell for one hour daily, excluding Wednesdays and why does she make limited quantity?

Haba, what if she has other side hustles that needs her attention?

What if she makes limited quantity so that it will finish on time to allow her attend to her other hustles?

Romanoff abi Na KennyG, keep an open mind.

Right. Akara is fun to make and not stressful at all, imo. I typically make mine like this:

~Soak beans overnight or even for a few hours (my blender's quite powerful that I don't need to soaking overnight)
~Rinse beans, then pulse for a few seconds in the blender (this is a quick way to remove the skin because it splits the beans!)
~Rinse out the skin (I may still have to use my hands for a few minutes when rinsing out the skin completely to my liking)
~Put beans back in blender and blend with peppers, onions, crayfish, other seasonings, salt
~Whisk the batter for a few minutes until it's airy and fluffy
~Add anything else I want to add (fish, meat, etc)
~Fry until golden brown.

This process takes me no more than 30- minutes. By then I've finished frying my first batch. The one hour they're waiting in line to buy akara, they would've finished making their own in half that time. Plus, if they're making theirs themselves they know what goes in it.

If everyone is making its own Akara, how do those people who sell at the road sides survive?
Like the op said, they eat it almost every morning, if they are the working type, every Monday morning they have to blend beans and fry it before going to work.

Akara is one food I think you should not buy as a family , my mum makes akara for us as a child , now that i'm grown I make akara for my kids , it's actually easy to prepare so why queue for an hour and beg to buy. Suggest to your mum to make it every morning instead of buying , the world is a strange place we can't be too sure

sorry for my english.but I can't just help it.
i come from a family that loves eating Akamu and akara every morning, so the lady that'used to do in our streets we noticed hers it's not peppering enough, it tasteless.

until this year february my mom came across a woman that sells in another street.the first time she bought it the aroma of the Akara was nice, and when we finally ate it..it was good.until it became a habits.

sometimes my mom goes to this woman selling point, Akara has finished around 8,o clock am.
we later noticed this woman does the quantity of the Akara small.. like she has a limit, she was told to sell everyday, and she can't do pass that.
she doesn't sell pass 7 to 8am.
she doesn't sell on Wednesday

but what got us surprised today is when I went there to buy over 40 people where waiting for This woman Akara.
and more still coming.
I had to wait for an hour plus to reach my turn

some are even begging her to give them 100naira own she's said it's finished already, meaning the ones in the fire has already been paid for.

I feel this is not normal, I managed to buy 200naira own because of my mom.
but I just can't help to think.

does this woman use juju.

lalasticlala, mynd44, seun
Cant say for sure if she uses juju, but still we can't deny the fact why she always makes smaller quantity, when she knows her customers are much.
They must be something to it.

You can actually blend and store in the freezer and defrost it anytime you want , even
If there is no power, its still easy, wash and soak the beans overnight , blend in the morning and fry ,the blending and frying process won't take up to 30 mins, instead of walking down the street and queuing for akara .
As a woman Sha , it doesn't make sense to me , j can make akara for my family everyday if they want it
Note , I am a teacher and I leave the house with my kids grin so don't call me a sit at home mum

You want her to sell till she drops dead abi?

Wednesdays can be for church service. Some women don't let business come between them and church. Wednesdays could be for any program or rest days.

If her akara tastes differently in the whole area which is very possible, then it's not surprising to see people line up to get some.

You sound like one of those rich folks or average nigerian citizen,
Madam not everyone that owns a freezer at home.
Not everyone that owns a common blender at home.
Not everyone can afford to buy 1basket of beans for their family consumption at home.
What's the price of a keg of groundnut oil?

Come to the streets and see how people are surviving from hand to mouth, you saying it doesn't make sense to buy Akara in the streets, have no ideal about the hardship for a lower class in this country.

Bread #100 Akara #50 can hold a man for some time, while in search of his next meal ticket.

nice points

of reasoning you have here.
but

We sell to make profit, now imagine selling all my
wares as early as 8am so what's stopping me from
restocking more to sell the next day and if the
demand is getting too much, I'll employ more hands
to help na.
but this woman doesn't employ no one.
just her alone.

everyday, Akara don finish, if you mistakely go like some minutes after 8.
why doesn't she do it more for it to be available for all her customers.

imagine you can't go there, and say you want to buy 500naira own, lashes you will get from other customers will be much.
like na you won just buy the full tray.

Seems she's a good business woman.

She sets her daily profit target and meets it.

And also creates a high demand with limited stock.

Customers have to check on her early enough in order not to miss the item and she meets her profit in a short period consistently.

Most likely, that's not her only source of income as she may have to attend to other things early in the day.

Absolutely dear..

For him, I can only imagine the stress of having to go grind the beans some place far from home(that can automatically kill the vibe lol).. Soaking the beans til the skin comes off could take a while though but then I think if it's done early maybe first thing after getting up from bed(delegate anybody that gets up first, another would wash, rinse & go grind the beans, someone standby to whisk the batter, add in other ingredients, fry & set aside), it would be easier that way and in no time breakfast is served..

Your akara is sooo rich dear, I love it smiley talk about the crayfish and other proteins added wink honestly that goes in only when I'm making moin moin, maybe someday I'll try that for akara.. Really haven't done both in a while, beans is gold in Nigeria lipsrsealed aand then my palm oil which I use for frying akara just goes into my pot of soups, beans, stew not occasionally, porridges and native jollof rice now lol.
