This is commendable no doubt but sticking to plan and working collaboratively is part of the job description of good governance. Ambode lacked this.

I don’t think so. He was different and that’s something the system doesn’t want.

The system want to spend 30 years to build Lekki/Epe expressway but Ambode want to deliver Epe, Agege, Oshodi, Iyana Ipaja roads in less than 24 months. There’s no way the system will like such a man.

Just take a look at Epe city and many other Ambode verifiable projects for instance. Don’t you like what you see?

For the records, the collaborative govt of Lagos state has been building the heavily tolled Lekki/Epe expressway since the days of Tinubu and we are not even half way.

Ambode tried just that he sideline all the L.G.A Chairman. He would have change Lagos to new look

I want to do barbwire on my fence, one layer.

The total lenght measured is 58 meter and the number of angle bar projected is 30 poles to be needed.

I want information on the cost of barb wire per roll as sold in the market, and how is the labour priced by people fixing the barbwire on the fence.

If there are any information that would be help please share. Costing informations is sought for budegtary reasons

Thanks All and a good day to all

I don’t know about cost anymore since everything is upside down now in the market.

One thing I would say is to forget barb wire and just go for electric fence if budget allows.

Barb wire to me just gives false sense of security unless it’s cemented into the fence.

Not giving in to what Fela called PADI PADI was is under-doing and blessing to some part of lagos simultaneously. The usual thing was to feed those corrupt few in lagos but Ambode screwed them all to bring fast development but since we are greedy Nigerian, we voted him out to continue rubbish that we are accustomed to. Many people in not so wealth places will never forget Ambode because he showed them mercy as opposed to the Usual LEkki projects where all the politicians are using to rape lagos treasury.

I look at those electric fence and I wonder if they can't just be easily cut off with a plier or cutter by a thief

Maybe but like I said in my previous post, those thin electric wires look like something that can be easily cut with a plier on both ends of the pole its attached to get rid of it.

Yes it should be cause for alarm. You should be worried. Very worried. That's sign of wood worms (termites) infestation.

You better hurry up and dig up your interlocking or your German floor and bury live or dead dog.

Please don't use any chemical. This causes erectile dysfunction.

I have electric fence but i needed to support it with barbwire because of recent experiences in the area , just an additional layer of possible deterence.

How sure are you Sir? We’re you present when it was allegedly used? Or perhaps they over diluted it.

Well, na where dey pain man he dey put for near fire.

Na Ikorodu and Public Health of Lagos state been dey pain me. Ambode failed big time in this respect. Mountains and mountains of refuse everywhere during Ambode tenure. Public health and jobs collapsed completely.

In his vain attempt to achieve his unilateral agenda you termed as achievement, he took his eyes off the ball - the big picture. And he didn't live to fight another day.

Negotiating the narrow channels of governance and building alliances as you go along is working smartly. Ambode was a hard working labourer. Not a smart intelligent administrator suited for a state like Lagos beaming with learned intellectual middle class.

It was surely used, reason they proceeded to roof with the woods. But I can't say how the mixing or diluting was done

People have actually used the dog burying method and are testifying.
It's better to be more concerned about the (scientific or otherwise) explanation than being making fun of it.

Oga N3xt over to you then.

What you’re dealing with is wood beetle and not termite.

You need to deal with the problem from the source. They love woods in damp (not necessarily wet) areas.
Roofing wood, kitchen cabinets, wardrobes backing bathroom are some of the most vulnerable furnitures attacked by the bettle.

THE PROBLEM OF PERFECTLY CUT AND STRAIGHT WOOD IN NIGERIA.

I lifted the first attached photo from Spyder's Remodeling Hall Project: https://www.nairaland.com/5921575/remodelling-reconstruction-town-hall-pictures/3

Looking at the wood network and the snake like nature of most of the woods, I just ask myself and you all here that supply wood, why is it near impossible to get perfectly cut to size and straight wood in Nigeria? What is the issue?

Is it lack of investment, lack of skilled woodworkers, the Nigerian factor of any way na way or we are just blind as a country to perfection and detail.

Why can't the Association of Nigeria Sawmillers up and down the country self regulation as done in the western world to proscribe industrial standard of wood cutting and sawmilling? I don't want to mention the government. This is a case of self regulation by the Sawmillers Association.

I have had a look online at the investment profile for a sawmill. As from 5 million Naira, one can set up a modern sawmill that can cut perfect wood. I think the Sawmillers Association can do better. It is not impossible to produce perfectly cut straight woods. I think it's the Nigerian factor.

Any how, any how. All go na go.

My opinion (culled from my experience)

-MOST TREES are not straight.

It's not a lack of equipment that's the problem.
It's also not a local of skill.

It's mostly about profit maximisation and waste minimization. I'll try to explain.

Firstly, from the bush where its cut, loggers sell in logs. Then the guys that saw (lets call them "Sawers"wink it into 2x12 planks are next.

Remember, most trees aren't straight.
So these guys follow the warpness of the natural wood to cut into planks because if they go straight, instead of getting maybe 6 planks, they get 3 or 4.

That's bad for biz.

If you buy a 2x12 wood from the mill, you're expected to produce at least 5 to 6 numbers of 2x2.

If you want to cut perfectly straight, you'd probably get 3 or 4 numbers of 2x2 which increases your cost.

The koko of the matter is “Client go gree pay the extra cost for special woods?”

Straight wood is possible if you’re ready to pay the extra cost.

I paid thrice the regular market price for my roofing woods.

They’re not only straight. They can survive under any harsh condition. I really mean harsh.
