Bayelsa State Exco Members Meet Rocking Ijaw Attires (Photos) by WetinhappenPR(op): 4:13pm On Sep 15, 2021
If it has never been recorded anywhere, I'd like to state emphatically that Senator Douye Diri, Governor of Bayelsa State, is the PRIDE of not just the Ijaw people but the entire Niger Delta.

I admire his transformational leadership style! He is always walking the talk with his plans, policies and programmes, and today, he's blown my mind yet again!

He did something spectacular by promoting the culture of the Ijaw people through dressing. This is beautiful!

Promoting our culture isn't something we should pay lip service to but making conscious efforts to showcase at every given opportunity.

Here are photos from the 48th Bayelsa State Executive Council meeting, held today in Yenagoa.

In the photos, you can see the Governor of Bayelsa state, Senator Douye Diri, in a meeting with members of his Exco, all dressed in traditional attires.

See how beautiful these photos look? This should be encouraged across all Nigerian states!

Worthy of note is the Governor's commendation of his Exco members for showing "Ijawness" in their dressing.

The Governor said...

"I like to congratulate every member of this State's Executive Council for your uniqueness in your dressing. There is no doubt if anybody gets in as to where you come from.

Some of you are even looking like our Royal Majesties and Royal Highnesses, very unique, looking very radiant, looking Ijaw. I like to thank you, infact, the women are looking more beautiful than the men."

Nigeria is a very rich cultural center and our diversity is one of the major strength.

We can do more to showcase our rich cultural heritage through our dressing, same way Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State is doing!

The caps are a giveaway. These people are foreigners to the place they are occupying today. How can these people not have their own traditional cap? English Cap?

Why can't you folks just show some respect for others? You are still the same people that will come and scream "They hate Igbo!"
I don't see 'They hate Hausa", "They hate Yoruba", "They hate Ijaw" "They hate Fulani" etc. it is always "They hate Igbo" or 'your hatred for Igbo".......yet you are always the first to insult and ridicule others.

What you give is definitely what you'll get.

Is that not Isiagu I’m seeing?

Those who try so much to divide Igbo and Ijaw ties and brotherhood have a lot of explanation to make.

Because it was supposed to be a traditional and cultural attire day and that man wore that, which means he was representing his culture and tradition.

Maybe there are Igbos in Bayelsa after all!

Nonsense.

How does that relate with quality living that they are expected to provide for the people of Bayelsa state?

please ignore him.hes a nonentity.im yoruba but I absolutely love the Niger Delta attire.its always so colourful and uniquely gorgeous.there is nobody the attires doesnt look good on these are the types of things we should encourage.meanwhile

For the house of representatives people from east should wear their indigenous attires, people from the west and south south too should do same.oyinbo really did a number on us sotey we prefer suits rather than our beautiful and rich attires that sits majestically especially on the women

Like all these write up to praise clothes and hype a governor?? We truly deserve our leaders.
Like you took your time to just type this rubbish??
Have you looked all over Yenagoa and see the level of suffering and poverty the people go through?? I attended a funeral in Odi, hunger was everywhere on people's face and the Governor came and did nothing? Bayelsa has only 8 LGAs and the state is like that and all you can do is praise the Governor for dress??
I pity us
