The Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria, HURIWA has accused the Minister of works Mr Babatunde Fashola of being the ‘Devil’s Advocate’ against the person of President Muhammadu Buhari, stating that the former Lagos State Governor is attracting harsh criticisms for the president amongst the people of Southeastern Nigeria.

The popular rights group which hailed President Buhari for accepting Governor Hope Uzodinma’s invitation to commission some projects in Imo State last week called on the Nigerian leader to note that the minister of works is “clearly the Leading cabinet-level devil’s advocate against the president in South East of Nigeria going by even his recent clear marginalization of South East amongst the benefitting region to get the federal government emergency roads maintenance and rebuilding initiative announced he announced.

“We invite Mr. President to note that barely a few hours after he made a landmark statement and policy commitment on balancing the infrastructural gaps in the South East of Nigeria, the federal minister of works left out the South East of Nigeria in a huge roads repairs initiative thereby seeking to convince the 60 million Igbo speaking people of Nigeria that the current President suffers from IGBOPHOBIA”.

HURIWA, while reacting to Buhari’s speech in Imo on Thursday which said the “Igbos stand to benefit more from the ongoing development of infrastructure in the country because ‘‘they are more enterprising”, said Fashola was not truthful to the president on infrastructural development in the region.

In a statement issued and made available to DAILY POST on Wednesday, HURIWA recalled that the Works and Housing Minister had on Tuesday directed the immediate emergency repairs on failed portions of roads affected by floods in five states across the country, noting that no part of Southeast was included in the lists of roads billed for the repair.

The rights group said the affected roads for repairs include Ibadan–Ife road, Gombe–Bauchi road, Gombe–Darazo, Bauchi–Ningi, Bida–Lambata, and Tsamiya Bridge in Jigawa State.

HURIWA also listed the minister of Labour Chris Ngige as another member of President Buhari’s cabinet who has not told the President the “truth about the state of federal roads in South East of Nigeria when the minister falsely claimed that the federal road connecting Anambra through Arondizuogu has been upgraded whereas all Federal roads in Imo State are in a serious state of disrepair”.

I'm happy many are starting to see this man's evil inclinations towards Eastern Nigeria! I have said this many times here and has been accused's of being a bigot as a result. But the truth is bitter! Fashola is Evil! Fashola has never finished a single road in the whole Eastern Nigeria for the past 6 years! Not a single road! Fashola has only commissioned one project in the whole East and that is Ziks mausoleum! A fukcin grave! Fashola so much hates the east that I wonder why most eastern politicians and leaders are not yet calling him out on it. Every sige year he has been there, the east gets the worst allocations I terms of road projects to be done, yet the east has the worst road network in Nigeria by far. Immediately after he was recruited, the first thing he did was to reach an agreement with NASS on wholesale appropriation of budgeted funds for the ministry, instead of appropriations based on particular projects. What this means is that even if the whole budgeted funds for the works ministry are released to him, Raji Fashola gets to decide which projects that are to be done and boy, has he dealt with the South East using this method? Owerri to Onitsha road! Onitsha to Enugu, Enugu to Port Harcourt road! All are in their worst conditions while Fashola comes to take pictures at second Niger bridge every few months! It didn't stay today. He was the one that first told non Yorubas to "go back to their villages" , he doubled down on that by rounding up destitutes, including many from the South South and the middle belt and dumped them at Upper Iweka in the middle of the night! That was enough to stop him from accessing any serious office at the center but he "took a bow" at the Senate! Fashola is Evil and is a bigger threat to igbos than Buhari!

Bro, they are just jealous and hateful of the profile of Fashola. They have always been that way. I remember Igbos alone had nothing but insult and criticism for Fashola while Governor. Never praises or commendation for a job welldone.

Hateful bigot,which one has he finished in the SW.The second Niger is the most expensive singular project going on in Nigeria but that has not stopped Fashola or Buhari continuing some other projects in the SE.
