Mandyjosh:The executive Producer is the boss of the bosses who makes the finance resources available while the producer is a boss that makes the artist and other production crew and materials available and makes sure there is a movie. The director puts all together and makes the movie. Executive producer is the owner of the movie while the producer is hired by the Executive producer to produce the film because most times the executive producer might not have the required knowledge to produce the film, he only have the money. The difference is that the producer only provides the money for the production of the movie while the executive producer provides the money and also gets involved in the actual production of the movie. He is involved in the activities of producing the movie. 1 Like |

The Executive producer could take different forms. Either to honor or recognize an individual whose support made the movie happen. Executive producer could also be the person who's idea the movie is but because of a number of issues hired the producer to do the film. The issues could include lack technical expertise and of time to be part of the movie, believe that the Producer could do it better etc. The Producer then is the one who hires everyone who is part of the movie. The actors, Director, Editor, Wardrobe, location logistics, technical hands etc. The Producer also oversees the budget of the movie and works closely with the director on technical content including the script and acting direction. 3 Likes |

Caseless:If the producer is responsible for the technical know-how and props what then is the job of the technical director, the VFX supervisor, the director or even the Cinematographer? The producer is responsible for schedules and ensuring that all the right hands are on page and on time for all aspects of the production, including the director. |

Executive Producer provides the financial funds for the project. A producer is the one who actually produce the project. Someone can be both a Producer and An Executive Producer. I might have an idea for an original movie as a producer but I might lack the funds then I would approach someone with financial wherewithal to finance the project that person now becomes the executive producer. If I have the funds I would be both The Producer And The Executive Producer. 2 Likes |
