Saw this post on a forum. It sums up Mancity perfectly.

"Manchester City are basically a marketing toy for Etihad Airways. The name on the shirts, the stadium, the cheesy adverts promoting Abu Dhabi based companies. That's really what it's all about. That is the owners 'skin in the game'. They mainly bought them for two reasons, one being that they were cheap to buy (and the owner was desperate to sell before he went to prison), but the main factor was that they shared a location and name with Manchester United, one of the biggest sporting entity's on the planet.

They then looked around at the people who made Barcelona FC successful and made them an o££er they couldn't refuse. They call it 'the project' because that's what it is to them. A business venture, an experiment in maximising the advertising potential of their products. They couldn't care less about the core fans. They want tourists, and day trippers in Man Utd kits to come to their matches. They want people to worship false Gods, like injury prone Belgian defenders, who they build statues for Not for world cup heroes or Ballon d'Or winners, a statue for someone who just turned up, took the money and didn't complain!!

In the drone footage that they produced for celebrating winning the PL, they shamelessly flogged the corporate hospitality and tunnel club before showing anyone the actual PL trophy. This is who they are now. They have become the thing that they always hated. A faceless, corporate entity, built on sand. The sort of people who turn their noses up at Mancunians in the street. From the very top, to the very bottom of that club, there is not one real genuine Manchester City fan on the payroll. They are all hired hands. Pigs eating from the trough. And when they've all had their fill, they will be off for good. Only ever to return one day, slightly bemused, because some marketing dweeb in Mayfair has decided that they should have a statue made for them. "Erm...thanks guys...this is such an honour to have this pockmarked lump of metal that looks nothing like me! I will be sure to visit you all again in the next decade!"

The backlash against Guardiola today is comical. He isn't there because he loves the club, or has any sort of affinity to the fans. He's there because they pay him £18 million a season. And now that the clock is running down and he can see some light at the end of the tunnel, he's starting to let his true feelings out. He took their money, but deep down he is embarrassed by them. That is why he makes comments like he did in the interview last night. Even giving the time of the kick off on Saturday. Could you imagine any other manager saying that to their fans? He's serving out his notice, and settling a few gripes before he goes. I doubt that he will ever darken their door again. Unless they build him a statue!"

Hmmm cool

Manchester city don't really have fans and their PR team are not even trying.
They have are the most successful English team at the moment, they should be able to attract people to support them.
They need to do something to attract fans to the stadium.
Tottenham have not won any trophy for some years now but they still sell more tickets than Manchester city.
The supporters chairman needs to do something different.
I'm with guadiola on this one

How’s Mancity the most successful English team at the moment?

I'm really sorry 4 anyone wasting his money on football in the name of fanship, dude like you is earning $500 000 a week, u still they bring from ur meagre income plus time come give them. As much as I love football, I also have plenty sense.

Anyone reading this receive sense

You have something against spending personal money on a leisure activity like viewing football, yet I am almost certain you even spend more on your very own definition of leisure or fun.

Come now, leisure is subjective and the one who claims a higher ground to insult others for what gives them joy is the very one who needs to receive sense!!!

What players earn can't be any more ridiculous than the millions actors and actresses earn for their idea of entertainment... Shall we talk about the billions Nairaland, Facebook, Instagram, etc make to enable you have the sense to call others senseless??!

No Manchester city don't always have a full stadium.
Even the day they won the premiere league on the last day, the stadium was not full.
At a point QPR are pressing them at home and they are at the brink of losing until the red card to Barton before they raise their game.

All these record you're talking about are just 1 or 2 matches.
Arsenal, Manchester united, Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham sell out full stadium almost every match.
Arsenal even have season tickets holder than buy tickets down for the whole match of the season.

No. You can put facts across without being rude. But I get your type. First of all, the only trophy pep hasn't delivered is the UCL. Secondly, more than half of the cups you listed above were wone by him. Thirdly, he's right about Citeh fans. The stadium is called 'emptyhad' for a reason - the fans can't full it! Even on a big UCL night.
Everything he won have been won by other manager before him so nothing new tho he is the best we just hope he win the champions league before leaving cos that's the major reason City hire him in the first place.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola refuse to apologise to City fans as he calls out supporter club chief who told him to stick to football.
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has refused to apologise to City fans over his comment this weekend.

The Spaniard invited fans to show up against Southampton in the Premier League after 6-3 win over Leipzig in the Champions League.

It was stated that 38,062 fans were in attendance against the German side at the Etihad stadium as Guardiola calls for more fans to come out to support against Sutton.

Guardiola addressed general secretary of the supporters’ club in his press conference ahead of Southampton’s game.

“Mr Parker should review the comments. I will not apologise,’ Guardiola said.

“Did I say after the game that I was disappointed because the stadium was not full? Interpretation is interpretation. I’m not going to apologise. I am surprised at what has happened [since].

“When you play in the Champions League it is so tough, knowing that Southampton have had all week to prepare. I make an approach to do something together again.

“What I said is we would love the support, we need the support – 40,000 or 50,000 people.

“We need their support. I was incredibly grateful for the support we had. If you want to join us, we’ll be incredibly happy if you come.

“I prefer to be with my people than without. If they don’t come then it’s perfect. If you want to come, then it’s a pleasure.

“I’ve never had a problem with the fans. I am one of them. I try to do my best. I like to play in the Etihad with my fans. I know what my intention was.’

He also added: “Our fans will be there tomorrow. Hopefully Mr Parker will be there to watch us.”

Yes because that's what guadiola is complaining about.
Fans don't come to the stadium to watch match.
They don't feel the home advantage atmosphere in the stadium like other teams do.

Europis a different ball game. Teams need an X-factor to win it. But I don't see him doing that with that team. Now other top teams have gotten more firepower. Can that City team beat Bayern? Chelsea? Man u with CR7? I don't see them getting the UCL before these other teams.

Do you apologise to people when you're not guilty of any wrongdoing ? That "simple sorry" can actually make one looks extremely stupid at times. Sorry for what exactly na,bro ? You dey feel my yarn ? Pep only requested for fans supports in their next game and he made a reference to the poor supporters' presence in their last UCL game against Lizpeig. So,where is any offence in that ? Those yeye fans are mad !

The fact is that those British fans are quite arrogant and they see themselves as a sort of god ! Somebody needs to put them in their rightful place. Wetin de wori dem sef ?

Guardiola owes them no apology.
