Yea it's quite expensive.
I made other enquiries, 5k difference.
The guy did my driver's licence and he is reliable, so I assumed the 5k as compensation instead of trying another person am not sure of.
It came with a 3rd party insurance.

Okkk... It's fine then, realibility is key.

I intend disposing my Big daddy, add some money and opt for MB...but several enquiries I've made in past couple of weeks from few"kazeems" around... all suggested C 300 and 180 models. I'm still on cause shà...lest I forget, reason(s) for my decision is solely based on prestige, class, availability of original parts and durability. I hope I'll get it right sha

To be honest with you I'm not in the best position to advice you on this decision you wish to take as I haven't gotten a good and enough experience with the MB so I can't say, but base on the bolded you're 100% assured BUT my best advice to you is, should you eventually opt for a MB pls go to ladipo yourself and get your parts all by yourself because there's this general mentality our mechanics have, since it's a MB it should be expensive so they just wickedly inflate the price all by themselves.

Can imagine i gave a tech money for a part and said its 20k but on getting to ladipo yesterday I confirms the same part is about 10k I haven't price it oh... So you can see.

As for the choice of car your kazeem advised, still do your research, seek professional advise if possible create a thread then state all your concerns, worries and purpose for your choice you can tag me in the post I'll help tag a few guys I know in NL to give their own view. If it's mainly for the Uber business I'll suggest any of the 4plugs MB from 2000- 2006/7 M111 engine. The C300 from my knowledge is a 4matic... Honestly I don't know much about it.

Good luck

The something is not funny, I don't think these people you guys call your leaders care about their subjects.
All they know is how to inflict pains on the subjects, most roads on that axis are already close or partially close in the name of construction and somebody will still bring one yeye tournament then block more roads.

Who do you blame? The electorates or the governor? This present Lagos State governor is a block head. Very incompetent.

In fact everybody is to be blamed.

Noooo nah sciences ó...but .Na GES 106 : philosophy, History and logic wey I do during undergraduate days na him no one leave my " chikini brain" ó....

But on a serious note, during my undergrad days I hardly miss any inaugural lectures being offered by professors in Faculty of Art then...
but what changed my disposition totally was when the Oyi of Oyi, late Chuba Okadigbo gave a lecture at Trenchard hall....he was an associate professor of metaphysics... A branch of philosophy that is so "dreadful"
Mehn.... Everybody kept quiet....#fem inside auditorium when this man dey yarn. He was an Orator

Metaphysics, epistemology, auxiology, and logic... Apparently, Metaphysics happens to be one of the most difficult aspect of philosophy..
Late chuba okadigbo studied Metaphysics... I so much have respect for him till death...so na so e be

That's really nice, that's the course I'm studying currently and yeah metaphysics is a bit difficult but I find symbolic logic to be more difficult grin

As for politics, you're right.

I remember a day I carried a military guy

Rider: What do you think about Buhari?

Me:..errmm *scratches head*

Rider: That man is an eediot

Me: Yeah, that's the exact word to describe him

grin grin

Just save yourself some stress and return the questiongrin

Politics? I hate having those discussion but unfortunately its something we can't run away from if we leave it for those illustrates like the once we have in power, this is the kind of situation we will keep having.

Barbiturate:

I really don't speak at first. I wait for them to start it. The only thing I tell them at first, is about connecting their phone to the android via Bluetooth, if they want to play their music. If they say they are fine, I usually just play gospel or radio.

Are you serious? grin
That's a bit unusual. See ehn, the most important thing to a rider (which should be your priority) is getting them safely to their location in the fastest possible time.

Any other thing like bluetooth, charger is an added advantage (that they should even be paying for). The requirement for bolt is having a radio!! If they want to listen to their music, they can get a headset and blast their ears away.

What I think can help your ratings is effective communication and compassion. This is how I begin:

Me: Good Evening...
Rider: Good Evening
Me: You're going to Lagos Island right?
Rider: Yes, I am.
Me: Alright, I'm starting the trip now.
Rider: Please go ahead.
Me: Okay....The map is saying 35 minutes. Should we take Third mainland or Eko bridge?
Rider: Anyone that's faster on the map.
Me: Alright.

Then I go silent.

Factors that affect your ratings:

NAVIGATION: Anytime the map suggest a faster route, I inform the rider before taking it. Riders do not like when you're taking them through an unfamiliar route so it's best to always carry them along before taking shortcuts or alternate routes.

PAYMENTS: Another thing to pay attention to is your attitude towards payment. You cannot be driving without a functional bank app. I mean, how can someone transfer money to you and you'll say, "wait let me see alert first". With your bank app, you'll get notified a lot quicker when money is sent to you. If you insist on seeing SMS alerts first, your ratings will continue to suffer grin.

CAR NOISE: Does your engine sound like a raging bull? Are your shocks, suspensions in order. You can't maintain a consistent high rating if your car gives off bad sounds. My car has been squealing and groaning for weeks due to bad shocks. I usually cover up by increasing the radio volume but sometimes riders tell me to turn it off completely and then I become exposed. You can guess what follows after grin

CONVERSATIONS: I usually don't initiate convos with riders, but once they start we will continue talking till we reach their destination. I've had G boys open up to me about what they put their hands into to make it. Married men and women have bothered my little head with their family issues etc. I don't mind because I know they're most likely to give a 5 star rating to someone they had an interesting conversation with and I learn a lot as well.

Typically, if you're good looking your female riders will come to the front seat. And if you can't hold a good gist with them, your ratings will dip. So free yourself.

CAR INTERIOR (Appearance and Scents): Put yourself in your rider's shoes. Will you be happy in a dirty, stinking Uber ride? Hell no! So do the needful.

YOUR VISAGE: Some Uber drivers would not even smile once during a trip. Bros! No be fight na? Your rider cracks a joke, you fail to laugh and you want 5-star rating. Are you normal? grin grin grin

nice one!
Pocahontas self don dey surgi grin I like thatgrin

Like seriously why would I help you load your luggage in my boot, for watin na? I only open and close myself because I wouldn't want you to bang my boot, reason many Corolla boot are tired with garri sack ropegrin like how do drivers even drive with the banging and scratching noise... That tin fit cause psychological problem na...

That was how I got a request somewhere around meiran some time back, mama and daughter don't know weather they're relocating to yaba or weather daughter is going back to school or weather she just finished omugo...

Daughter: we have some bags ooh
Me: bring them out let me see if they can fit in

Daughter started dragging the bags out from inside the compound towards the car as I was already standing by the boot opened,
next thing mama referring to daughter: leave it let him come and carry them! You know that command tune na.
She directed her talk to me, oga you're supposed to carry and load the bags in the car why are you standing looking like that?!!

I was like really! Inside my mind, be like this one dey mad.

I didn't even say a word,i just simply closed my boot went into the car and drove off.

As for the Bluetooth, that one self na another issue on it own..
Oga/madam if you don't like the music I'm playing request for a station or a genre of music you'd like to listen to I'll play from my end not you connecting to my sound system on a trip of 30-40mins then you start making and playing all kinds of calls and music like the world is crashing, some will even want to burst your speakers by increasing the volume to the highest because of how much and some drivers will be nooding their head like agama lizard driving like F1 driver with their kekebu Corolla with smoky engine and tear rubber alloy rims... Goatsgrin

Rider: do you have Bluetooth?
Me: yes,
Rider: can i connect?
Me: No!
Rider: why?!
Me: I will find it hard to connect back when you're gone.
Rider: wow!
Me: do you have any favourite music you'd like to listen to?

I search and then play, simply.

I don't ask riders to rate me 5 star I only remind them by saying "remember to do your rating" i don't even add please... If you like rate if you like dont rate... Bolt has blocked me about 5times in the last 10months...

I told Uche one day, guy na me dey pay you ooh... Check how much i pay to your company monthly if you like unblock my account na you sabi there r other ehail app... I've not gone online for about a month now Uche no let me rest... I get at least 2 mails daily.

So i wonder why drivers get worried wen rating is going down... If you're on rental you should have all the 3 apps else you're not ready to work. When one releases the hammer ogbeni go to the next available one, no do no do you go get something to keep body and soul while you work towards unblocking of your favourite app.

And i also found a very nice MB C180 9JA USED

The interior looks good and the engine looks like the one they call bullet proof M111... Red top only that it looks tempered electrically.

What year is this, you can check the engine type by doing some operation on the dashboard screen... It's usually displayed on the same page where the engine oil level is shown because most of them don't have a dip stick so you check oil level from the screen. Make use of YouTube.

Also, hmm... Menh... I can't tell bro... What do you look out from actually... Me I'm not a fan of 9ja used like that but one has to manage with whatever they have. So go with a mechanic.

Me I'll be having a service and repair history of my car from day one till when I'm selling it to show to interested buyer... I wish Nigeria can be like that thogrin

Check also if it's converted oh because conversion is very common with the MB... Easy way to know from a distance... The VIN of the converted is usually on the right door and you'll know from the position of the throttle body and the left leg rest. I never knew all these things b4 until recently. My was converted in Europe b4 it was shipped down so no issue at all because it was professionally done that you'll never know unless you watch out for these few things i just pointed out now.
