The point here is as a tourist you wanna abide by what you you told them so as not to cause problems in the future.Thats what they demand. One should not spend too long on a tourist visit, and not visit too frequently in the space of few months.Thats more than often a deal breaker. If one spends some time more than what you told them,it must be too long.It has scuppered people's chances of renewal and this is one of the reasons they even suspended the dropbox renewal programme .

The point is that you can stay for months on a tourist visa if your intent is clear. Your original post that I responded to hinted otherwise.

You re very right in your submission.
Even as I was reading the whole conversation, I knew it will be a Denial.

Everything done or answered so to say looks packaged for this very purpose. Even at that, the finances is quite bleh compared to the number of persons.

What everyone should know is that at this moment, the country is bedeviled with a lot is and everyone is running away, the VOs knows this too. So they re already at alert and looking for looeholes to stop you into their country.

So we need to be very very religious with preparing our applications.

You re traveling with every member of your family, your ties. What exactly will you be coming home for.
You earn 750k here. You can earn way more than that when you get to US even with under table jobs. So what exactly are your ties.? What exactly would you leave US for and come back to Nigeria with your entire family. Lol.

Was SA the only country you have been to? What did you went there for? How long ago.?

You re obviously not a leisure traveller, you don't holiday with your family, why now, why US...?

Nothing spoil sha, just calm down, change some certain things in your profile. Take more trips, and pay great attention while filling your form. Re fire

SimonWales:
Sir, in all honesty, I think your ties is not strong enough. Also, your purpose of travel is not firm enough as well. For a family earning approximately 1 million Naira gross revenue, going for a vacation in this period is kind of suspicious more so, your wife's business isn't strong enough and same as yours to use as ties judging by your responses.

Sincerely, if I was the VO, I will not grand the application for a B-1/B-2 based on logical reason of your case as regards ties and especially, your job. I will assume your traveling to South Africa alone was just to build travel history for the sake of getting a U.S. visa. it would have been better if the trip was done with your family. I would have preferred you establish your case legitimate as possible to clear and answer any possible objection I might have regarding your intent to visit the U.S.

Anyway, that's just my own view. It doesn't mean I am right or your case or ties are not good enough. Just my opinion.

Nice to be back here. I missed everyone for almost 5 years now.

Love you.

Our situation was different. I was at POE with her. She was going to get given the 4 weeks that she asked for at USEL. It was when I told the Officer of my plans to return to Nigeria in 6 months to oversee my house build that he agreed with a warning not to spend over exactly six months. She spent exactly 5 months and 2 weeks.

Every case is different.

POE AND VISA OFFICER are 2 different breeds of animals, with different job functions, and you meet at different times in your journey to usa. so banking on what poe told you, when its visa officer that will interview you for your visa renewal isnt optimal

Someone told me US embassy in Nigeria is not attending to B1/B2 Applicants. Even if you have appointment dates. Is this true pls?
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by megastu(m): 4:07pm On Sep 13, 2021
I understand they want to investigate the massive heist of appointment dates that happened this year. Appointments were selling as high as N600,000 per slot.

I booked genuinely in January and got August 20th or so then 2 weeks before my appointment they cancelled it. Meanwhile, people were paying 100k today to get dates for next week. Nigeria problem plenty sha.

Including unfair people.

When the issue of buying appointment dates was rife, people were asked to stop it on this forum, but like everything Nigeria, it was not a popular opinion. They were even running ads and posting phone numbers and sharing 'connects" like it was okay to cheat a system.
Now everybody else is being punished for the actions of the "sharp" ones amongst us.

The "haves" in Nigeria keep using wealth to corner opportunities and then damage that source totally for everyone else.
When the embassy comes up with more stringent rules for us, we will complain.

I said it here that buying appointments will be addressed by the embassy later on. And it seems that's happening.

Infact ehn, I'm even confused....

Is the CGI corrupt or the embassy?, how did they bypass the system by cancelling some already booked appointments and give slot easily to those that paid for emergency appointments?

I am sure its the Nigerians in CGI in connivance with those travel expats hanging all over Walter Carrington

Hello,

My mum's interview scheduled originally since March 2020 is finally in 2 weeks time. It was moved 3 times by the embassy, as at last check, date is still intact in her portal.
I just want to know if I can fill a new DS-160 form, because circumstances have changed in the last 1 year, including reasons for traveling, my sister's status- job and marriage so she is now an immigrant.

Any advice will be appreciated.

Your sister's status changed, and not your mom's. You don't need a new DS-160

So she got a job after grad last year, also married her boyfriend and now expecting. My mum’s reason for visit then (2020) was to see her and attend graduation, but it’s all different now. I might be overthinking but I don’t want it to seem like we lied.

All those changes are on your sister's side, nothing to do with your mom. She's still going as a visitor.

There is the possibility of them cancelling the appointment before that day. US are now acting so funny.

Not so high if you book early or go through a reliable agent.

PRICE RANGES FROM 1500 to 2k usd for economy, places like houston are slightly cheaper. are travel agents really cheaper?. dont really like using them, cos of the inflexibility stories, if perhaps there is need for date change

Tickets have conditions. The last ticket we got from an agent was 1,100 direct flight. This ticket accepts date change the only snag it is non refundable. I no mind cos e de cheap. You can still buy direct from airlines it doesn't matter.

The hangout community is created to provide you with valid information (secrets) to guide you in applying and presenting your case at the interview

Now if you really want to learn more valid information and unspoken secrets on how you can legitimately help yourself get a better chance of up to 96.5% approval at the interview, we recommend you join the U.S. Visa Applicants Hangout Community.

It is free at least for now. So get in while you still can using this link:

Save yourself the hassles and loose of money to agents and especially losing your $160 visa fee. Join right away.

The whole essence of this thread is to share information and experiences on how to get your B1/B2 application approved.

If you have information, then share it here. But asking people from here to join your platform (that will soon be closed to the public) is antithesis of what this thread represents.

Then you go on to malign agents, when you hope to charge a fee in future.

And you promise 96.5% of what exactly?

Your intentions are good, but you aren't starting this in a proper way.

Good day, beautiful Nairalands.

Please I have this urgent enquiry to make here.

My in-law has just been handed a formal invitation to the US from a US citizen, for a 3week sojourn, and he has these questions to ask.

1. What, exactly, is the next step he should take?

2. If the next step is visiting the US embassy in Nigeria, what is the validity period within which he must act on that invitation letter?

3. Considering what's going on all around the world, are there certificates/or records as par medicals that he needs to make handy?

4. What other documents is he supposed to have with him, while visiting the embassy?

5. Will he still need the services of any form of agents along the line.

Please could someone help me with robust answers to the questions above?

Please do not limit your answers and advice to the very few concerns I raised.

Thanks all in anticipation.

He should read this thread, along with you. Or he should read the US Embassy website, visa section

2. If the next step is visiting the US embassy in Nigeria, what is the validity period within which he must act on that invitation letter?
Next isn't visiting, that's the last step.
Validity is a function of the 3 weeks sojourn he wants to take.
You both should note the invitation letter is very un-important during his application. The embassy usually doesn't care

3. Considering what's going on all around the world, are there certificates/or records as par medicals that he needs to make handy?
I have no idea what this means or his circumstances or even type of visa he wants to respond to this.

4. What other documents is he supposed to have with him, while visiting the embassy?
Same as 3

5. Will he still need the services of any form of agents along the line.
Same as 1

Please could someone help me with robust answers to the questions above?

Please do not limit your answers and advice to the very few concerns I raised.
