Saying one super power will defeat another super power in a war is very foolish. It is the war that will determine the winner, not you. Besides, the super powers are not preparing for war. They are just trying to put themselves in a position that will deter any aggressor. It is majorly for protection. Engaging a nuclear state in a war is a very foolish idea. These leaders know that. Russia annexxed Ukraine and nothing happen. If China decide to invade Taiwan, trust me, nothing will happen. The West will only support Taiwan, give them fund & arms to fight. They will also sanction China. They can not do more than that. The West wont risk a nuclear war because of a non-NATO member.

War is unpredictable, especially now with so much high tech weaponry in play. Nothing is certain. The only thing I want if they come to blow is that both sides don't use nuclear weapons.

Nukes will not only affect the country being hit especially now that nukes are way more powerful compared to the ones used in WW2. And they will cause devastating effects on so many generations to come.

War isn't something that should happen especially now that humans have so much dangerous weapons. But dialogue has failed, and we fear the worse might happen very soon. So many lives will be lost and for what? If you have been to any of those WW2 sites in Europe, read the stories of how young people in late teens and early twenties were thrown into war zones. Its just sad.

We are struggling with climate change, these people with twitchy fingers who are desperate to use all their new tech. Reminds me of what Iron Mike said in the game "Days gone", he was talking to main protagonist of the game whose actions threatened war. He was like "you playing with people's life".

While I agree with you, I feel you might be a bit too quick to dismiss US willingness to defend Taiwan. They have a treaty, if US doesn't honor their treaty with Taiwan it will set a dangerous precedent that will make other countries who US have similar treaty with question if US will also abandon them when their own time comes
