The Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Transportation, and Head of the Traffic Management and Enforcement Compliance Team Apapa, Toyin Fayinka, has blamed the Nigerian Ports Authority for the renewed congestion at the Lagos ports and the consequent upsurge in traffic gridlock along the Apapa area. https://punchng.com/apapa-gridlock-persists-lagos-blames-npa-man-laments-losses/ 2 Likes 1 Share

Lol Those benefitting from the gridlock won't want it cleared. Solution is to activate other ports to full functionality. 1 Like |

When you refused to open up all the other ports what do you expect The North and SW are so obsessed with their hatred for us in the Niger Delta they killed all our ports due to economic propaganda and sabotage 1 Like |

The simple solution to this is to activate already existing ports to full functionality and open more ports if needs be! If the federal government can't do this, can't state governments do it and hand it over to the FG? Please check my signature. |

Gadepeko: We do but it is a tribally inclined one. The SW keep pushing out backyard propaganda and stats just to brag about economic dominance.. When if we call an independent international audit you would be surprised it's the Niger Delta the contributes highest GDP. Until Nigeria embraces truth and does away with sentiments and tribalism we won't grow. Just being factual |

Simple solution, extend the railway to Apapa and create a dry port far away from Lagos with a with a suitable terminus for the railway to discharge goods instead of borrowing to build railway to Niger for your cousins. 1 Like |

NoFucksToGive: Exactly my thoughts. There are very viable places in Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Delta, Cross Riversand even Rivers(Not mentioning Onne-FLTand FOT) that deep sea port, haulage port and other commercial ports can be constructed and utilized. I don't have any issue with Lagos or Lagosians, but why the hassles? And Lest I forget, we have two existing ports in Delta(Warri) and Cross River(Calabar). Why can't FG revamp those ports and make them usable? This is no rocket science. This will lead not only to decongestion, but timely distribution of commodities to importers. And don't forget, that most of those importers are igbos. Nigerian politicians are lame ducks. All of them. 3 Likes |

Hope they don't want other ports to work Things like these would alway happen Containers would fall on cars Roads would spoil in Lagos Man-hours lost Air polluted So they should keep it up |

Jaycee07: Leave them, they are more interesting in chest beating how the SW generates the most IGR.. they know if they allow the Ibo importers use our ports inthe Niger Delta we will over take them in IGR so instead they keep biting their nose to spite their face thinking they are doing us in the Niger Delta Wait for it a new dawn will come where all those back yard generated statistics will be put to shame by transparent international audit firms 1 Like |

Jaycee07:Why don't the state build it if the Fg refuses and hand it over to the useless FG. Igbos are not the only importer. Very wrong conclusion to make. Who are the biggest importer of manufacturing materials, cars, aluminium, and iron in Nigeria? Majority of the manufacturing hub in Nigeria is in the south west...Ijora, Sango Ota and Ibadan. It doesn't make economic sense to use calabar or Warri port when your company is in Lagos or Ibadan. I know julius Berger built a Jetty in Warri back then when the were building the Ajaokuta Aladja railway to receive heavy equipment. What became of it is a mystery now 1 Like |
