11 years and counting.
If SanwoOlu actually believes that even the blue line, not both would be up and running in 2023,then he must be clowning.
Asides not being physically possible based on the level of construction so far and what is left to complete,2022 is an election campaign year that would put major funds guzzling projects in Nigeria like this sacrificial lambs for diversion of funds to campaigns and electioneering activities.
2025 is an achievable target, but 2026/27 looks the most realistic date for those lines to be up and running.
Nigerians are their own enemies. very pessimistic people. governor don talk 2022 but it doesn't fit into ur negative paradigm....so u must say 2022 won't work that it must be 2025.

Sanwo-Olu has no clue, the project cannot physically be completed in 2022.

I think you are Nigeria worst enemy, there is nothing wrong in stating the obvious, even in a western country a project at this stage of construction will virtually be impossible to complete to operation status in December 2022.

December 2022 is less than 15 months from today in that same time, they will have to complete the physical construction, lay the Railtrack, install the control and monitoring system, complete quality control and testing, buy the rolling stocking, train the operators, then handover to the Lagos government during an election campaign.

Instead of asking relevant questions from your elected leaders and holding the government to account, you will rather sit down and accept the nonsense that they spew.

If Sanwo Olu delivers this project, he will be next best to LKJ in Lagos. It always baffles me how such an overpopulated city will have no dedicated train service line. How did it ever happen?

Ask Buhari?

In 1984 he cancelled the Lagos metroline project.

You are not the contractor and you are not a construction or metro rail engineer so where did you get your knowledge and authority from to determine what can or not physically be completed?

Opening mout to talk rubbish doesn't mean you have a clue.

The funding for both rail lines to completion has already been secured. Hence the talks of the project being delayed due to election year or whatever is just out of ignorance. A lot of us here don't know that the state governor has gotten some financial backings that even external bodies from the state like DMO are also monitoring the completion of the project hence the contractors can't afford to renege on their promise to complete this work in 2022.

I may understand the skepticism of some but just look around you when you go around in Lagos, when last have you witnessed the intensity being displayed to deliver on this project? That should tell you how serious this government wants to deliver the two projects.

cool whatever they are building in Ikeja.. It better make sense....

If you still get shop for computer village, better be looking for plan B before them surprise you
Computer Village is a mess. They need to move those shops to somewhere more suitable for the sale of electronics not a place that resembles an ancient cattle market.

I personally visited the marina station being built last week. Vehicular activities have been stopped in that area so work can go uninterrupted. I was impressed with the speed of work. It doesn't help that everything there is elevated, hence the upshot in cost. I think if they continue to work like this, the project would be delivered by 2022

Sanwo Olu has been assiduously since assumption of power.

He has always been in news for good.

And you can imagine that the Contractor will pay/charge VAT of 7.5% on this gargantuan, long suffering project and part of the proceeds will end up in other 'economically disadvantaged' States in Nigeria that are just along for the ride....

We operate a highly unjust structure, so unwieldy, it has left us unable to move forward as a nation.

Seeing train stations in western world made me cry for Nigeria. Our leaders are wicked!. They are Evil. Remember some of them just came back from UK. The citizens are Mumu too.
Okafor onye ije, how is your state govt faring in rail development?
Has your state govt built a single rail track or bought a single wagon?
The only mumus I know are in the south east
They know what happens in other places but find it hard to call out their leaders.

Dummy, a Metroline is different from a diesel-powered interstate railway. How much business and productivity has Lagos lost from 1986 to 2021

THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD CONSIDER THESE:

NEW INTRACITY RAILWAYS NEEDED URGENTLY - NO MORE POLLUTANT BUSES NEEDED IN AN AGE OF TUNNEL TOADS AND RAILS, MAGREVS, MONORAILS, SPEED TRAINS, ETC

LARGE FERRIES AND BIGGER BOATS FOR WATER TRANSPORT

WIDEN ROADS

ROAD CONSTRUCTION WORKS MUST BE CARRIED OUT ONLY DURING THE NIGHT AND SPEEDILY

REASONABLY FLOWING ALTERNATIVE ROUTES MUST BE CREATED BEFORE EMBARKING ON ANY ROAD CONSTRUCTION PROJECT

LOCAL GOVERNMENT CHAIRMEN OF AREAS WITH BAD ROADS SHOULD BE MADE TO FIX THE ROADS WITHIN A VERY SHORT PERIOD

LET BUS STOPS BE WAY OFF THE ROADS (E.G. OWOWRONSHOKI, ETC.)

YELLOW BUSES DRIVERS AND OTHER TRAFFIC OFFENDERS MUST BE FORCED TO FREQUENTLY UNDERGO PSYCHIATRIC EVALUATION AND THERAPY
...AS WELL AS RANDOM DRUG TESTS
